This is THE most informative and thorough in instruction video I have ever seen! Thank you so much! My cat just dumped my poor shingle plant, breaking his board and I had no idea what to do. Thank you, thank you THANK YOU 😃. your video was/is brilliant. ❤!
That was great! Thanks for the finer details and thoughtful narration. Your display is top-notch; I like having two plants not just one - very romantic.
Thanks so much for your advice! I have a Rhaphidophora hayi and im planning on taking a cutting from her and putting it into my treefrog's paludarium. its vertical and i'm hoping it will climb all the way up in time. The cryptantha is so beautiful... when i find one its coming home with me
thank you so much for such an informative video! I was gifted a cutting of a cryptantha and was searching for care info. There wasn't much info that I found. Now I feel more prepared. once again, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I have a shingling plant that has outgrown everything and I didn’t know what to do with it, but now I do. Thanks again for this super informative video! ♥️
Wow, that's awesome! Can't wait to see it when it mounts, please keep us updated! I have a monstera dubia currently propagating in spagnum moss. I plan to do a modified version of this as well. Thank you so much for sharing!💚💚💚
If yours is doing well, it sounds like you have the care right. If you decide to move it, keep an eye on it. If it shows signs of stress, move it back to the original area while it recovers, then try a new spot. That's often what I do. Best of luck to you!
Thank you, thank you a million times! Finally a video that shows exactly how to mount this plant! 👏🏾! I have one coming out of soil, and per your video I've been able to mount to a moss pole! I do have one question: my plant has smaller leaves but great roots. So the smaller leaves are touching the moss.. will this rot the leaves? The moss is damp but not wet.
Thank you for the awesome instructions and video. I liked the idea of using floral tape. Genius! May I ask what plant you have to the left of the finished mount in the last shot. I purchased that philodendron plant as a NOID and an trying to figure out what it is. Thanks in advance.
I removed it from the board because I had to water too often for my liking. It's now in soil and doing well. I will try to include it in my plant room tour. Thanks for watching!
Hello! I just purchased my first raphradophora hayi and came across your care and mounting video. I found it really informative and calming to watch. I will be vacationing in the Florida Keys in a couple of weeks. Can you recommend some some good places to purchase plants? Thanks!
I purchased one already at the top of it's board it came with. It feels like it's really stuck on there. Any suggestions on getting it off the board without hurting it? Or anything I can add that it would keep growing on?
I LOVE mine! Question though, mine is getting kinda leggy and smaller leaves on the last 5 leaves. Is there a way to get bigger more compact leaf growth? Min looks kind of like the first one in your video. The base leaves when I bough it are nice and compact/overlapping and large. Maybe more light? It gets bright indirect sun 10ft from a window hanging on a wall plank covered with moss. It’s growing steady but I love the look of the larger leaves. Any advice?
@@PeggysPlants it was water. I started keeping it much more moist and it’s popping out big leaves again. Can I just chop the top off of it and replant? It’s too long for it’s 20inch board now lol
@@PeggysPlants i was trying to buy rhaphidophora, but has no roots at the bottom, only behind the leaves... would that be ok? Will it eventually grow roots ?
I live in a humid area so I don't have to do anything extra. You can always use a humidifier or place it in a terrarium. I have one in a terrarium and it is doing well. Best of luck!
@@PeggysPlants I'm glad to hear that you actually recommend a pest product. I'm a native Floridian and I definitely will use a product that I know will kill the bug that is on my plant. I'm all for natural but sometimes it takes a good pest product to do the job. I just got one of these plants.(not the one from Lowes it's just like this one) I'm enjoying the heck out of it. It is growing very fast. Right now it's still in its pot with a piece of rough cut wood. It is outgrowing its wood already. I like the idea of the cork but where do you go with yours next? I am picturing a terrarium with a cork wall. Give us an update on its growth when you can. Have a great day !!!

Enjoy your Hayi and thanks for watching.
I can not find care for these anywhere. Mines doing well but I'd like to move it and I wanna be sure it's a good spot.

You may lose the lower leaves if they remain wet.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. The plant you are asking about is a Philodendron Tenu.
Thank you. Nicely done
Thank you!
do you have any photos of what it looks like now? would you have done anything differently?

This was so interesting. I was just wondering what happens once it grows past the board? Thanks for sharing

Great info. I've never seen a Cryptantha before. Very interesting plant. Can you mount the cork and plant on a wall?
Yes you can! I just have mine hanging on my plant rack, but you can hang them anywhere.
@@PeggysPlants Oh, cool. Now, I'm liking that Cryptantha even more. Thanks, Peggy.

@@PeggysPlants Thank you?
I meant thank you!!!
Hello. Where did you get the flat coir board/mat at the beginning of the video?
I purchased it on Amazon.
Can you purchase the plant moss in a garden center? Thank you!
Yes you can!
I purchased one already at the top of it's board it came with. It feels like it's really stuck on there. Any suggestions on getting it off the board without hurting it? Or anything I can add that it would keep growing on?
I just gently pull them away from the board. So far, none of my shingling plants have had an adverse reaction.

It seems that any change impacts the growth. My new leaves are smaller also. More light will help if it is getting leggy. Thanks for watching.

Anyone knows where else to find that bark wood she is using in this video? It's sold out on Amazon and I can't find it in any pet stores.
Try some of the larger chain pet stores as well as reptile shops.
i got some on ebay

It’s beautiful Ms. Peggy!!💚🙃 Just out of curiosity, are you a school teacher? You explain things so well 💚🙃
No, I'm not a school teacher. 😀 I'm pleased you find the video easy to follow. Thanks for watching.
That netting looks like "hat netting"
It's plastic netting used to cover plants. I don't know what hat netting is, so I can't compare the two. Thanks for watching!
Hii is this plant available?
I'm sure you can find it on the internet somewhere. I don't sell plants so this one is not available. Thanks for watching!
