I don't mind Book club editions. They fill a gap on the shelf. The padded envelope is typical for ebay, although I haven't had any major complaints with the books I've received versus the price I've paid for them. Congrats on the find!
Dark Harvest published SWAN SONG in trade hardcover, in addition to their numbered and lettered editions. But that's the only trade hardcover of SWAN SONG in English that's ever been published. Also, to pick a nit, STINGER was published in 1988. :) The reason only SWAN SONG and STINGER were listed in the book is because they were, at that time, the only two McCammon books that Pocket had published. They often ignored books published by other publishers.
Oddly enough, the book club edition does say copyright 1987 on the copyright page and that is the only date given. The first printing paperback says April 1988. Weird.
@@TonyThomas1962 That is interesting! I never noticed that (and obviously didn't look). Somebody goofed. :) I do know that the BCE didn't appear until after the paperback was published in April 1988, but I guess somebody used the date when they were prepping the book?
yeah I NOW see that it's specified that the other books were the other Pocket Books titles. Someone must have typed that onto the page after I filmed the video. And I didn't know that DH did a trade edition. Though I should have because I've seen some unsigned copies on eBay in the past. And yeah as Tony pointed out the copyright page indicates 1987. I didn't have a paperback to check so I just went with that. Even though I knew it was the year Swan Song was published and didn't remember them both out that year. But I'm not someone who remembers details like that.
I highly recommend that you stick with Stinger and give it a chance, Jeff. It is an amazing book, just pretend like it's 1988. McCammon's brilliant writing really shines here.
Food for thought. Best wishes and happy reading.
Gratzi!

I had a message back and forth with the seller and she said she'd be happy to ship in a box next time.
@@THEJEFFWORD I find the ebay people all very accommodating.
Just teasing. It's a great find. I have two of them and got great deals. Dark Harvest They Live hardcover also. Love to get my hands on DH Swan Song.

I plan on it! I'm sure I'll love it. I must have been in a mood way back when!
James Wan. Can't ask for better these days.
I hope that remains the sentiment when the series is out.
@@THEJEFFWORD Aquaman 2?
watch out folks for those stinging slams in this vid tho.....!!!
I should put that warning at the beginning of the vid.
It's a 25 purchase. How's he suppose to ship it? In a Brink truck handcuffed to his wrist and state-of-the-art case?
