Lynn Ngugi raises an important and deeply rooted issue about post-colonial agreements that continue to benefit settlers at the expense of indigenous populations. These hidden pacts, often made during colonial transitions, grant settlers privileges such as exemptions from land taxes, perpetuating economic inequality and hindering national growth. Ending this requires urgent action on multiple levels: Transparency and Awareness: Governments must declassify any colonial-era agreements that disadvantage local populations. Publicizing these arrangements will allow citizens to understand and demand their revision. Legislative Reform: National parliaments should review these agreements with the aim of renegotiating or abolishing terms that unfairly benefit settlers. Laws should be enacted to ensure land tax compliance for all landholders. Land Redistribution Programs: Governments must prioritize fair land redistribution and compensate communities that were displaced by colonial policies. Public Advocacy: Citizens must unite to demand action through petitions, peaceful protests, and political engagement. Media, activists, and influencers can amplify these efforts by highlighting the social and economic injustices caused by these agreements. International Pressure: Countries can seek support from international bodies like the United Nations to advocate for the equitable redistribution of resources and end colonial legacies. The time to act is now. These arrangements perpetuate inequalities that are entirely incompatible with the ideals of a free, sovereign, and equitable nation. Let’s demand accountability and fairness to build a future where all citizens have equal rights and responsibilities.
In the true history we are never taught, we lost whenever we negotiated with colonial powers that have always worked together to date in our subjugation. You should a keen look at the background photos and videos and see their intelligence agencies present. That should tell you about our 'independence'. It was a total hoax and democracy is hijacked. The so called our leaders aren't ours but mere puppets that are compromised and presented to us. We vote we loose as both sides of political divide are in the pockets of foreign powers. These puppets implement handed down policies in education, economy, governance, health, food etc to keep us down. The poverty of the richest continent is by design. Ignorance, programmed minds/eyes that uphold whiteness, miseducation, white-washed history in our collective curriculums that strips our identity and self-esteem, compromised religion, hijacked systems etc are used for our total subjugation.
We are overwhelmed! I feel like this is only the tip of the iceberg, and it's just the conservation industry-what about everything else? What can we do?
Interesting topic! Kenya's post-colonial land agreements are a critical issue that continues to shape land ownership and taxation policies today. It's time to revisit these historical injustices and work towards equitable solutions for all. Looking forward to learning more from this
There's nothing like post-colonial in Africa, it's more of post-subjugation. Independence and democracy was and is hijacked and puppets are made to rule over us perpetually. Our leaders are not ours and as only the compromised by the collaborating west's intelligence agencies get to rule.
@leestephens Easier said than done. The British Establishment (royals, aristocratic families, government and businessmen) will be up in arms, and you know they already have their military in Nanyuki. Charles even made a point to visit Kenya as soon as he ascended the throne!!
Kenyans should prioritize the rights of Indegenous Kenyans. Africans in general should stop being so nice to outsiders. The consequence of not owning land, you'll end up like the Maoris of New Zealand, The Aboriginals of Australia or the native americans of the USA. These people play the long game. And if you're not careful you can lose your country
Thumbs up to this man, Mordechai! Massive tracts of land in the wildlife sector of Kenya may have been secretly and unfairly sold to, or leased to Britain, for hundreds of years, so that they could agree to grant Kenya its independence in 1963. This man has opened a very big can of worms. He has enlightened kenyans more than ever. Our government should now, not tomorrow, come out and tell Kenyans the truth. They cannot afford to keep the secrets any longer. Let every Kenyan listen to this conversation in this vlog
Sober mind this one. I'm always hooked to this noble man's 'coversations.' Asante Lynn for bringing Mordecai back. Looking forward to hearing more from him.
Thank you, Lynn, for this conversation. I have learnt so much. What is unfortunate is that the government is usually very aggressive ensuring that we pay the myrid of taxes, yet there is a section of people who do not pay taxes.

I keep saying the same thing. Kenya and South Africa are sister countries, only that there's distance between us, but we're both controlled by the same colonial systems that seek to keep us disinherited from our God-given natural resources. We also had a very similar apartheid-like period here in Kenya, during the mau mau struggle for independence, where most of the restrictive tactics imposed on a section of Kenyans were imported from South Africa and Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia). I hope we can both use these conversations to figure out the solutions to our challenges. Love from Kenya ❤
Even in Malawi! We have tea estates in southern Malawi and the transaction happen sin Europe…not even a penny comes to Malawi. Whites have a colonial mentality embedded in them hence the hatred for Chinese and other races😢
It is extremely beneficial that we are starting this discussion, the way forward will surely come forth, Modecai deserves to be in the next HE Omtata government
This is one topic that is interesting. Can we really talk about equality in this country for sure because practically it's almost impossible? Thank you for bringing him back Lynn. Continue doing the good job.
People need to stop being greedy. Educate one another and organise accordingly in order to fulfil your basic needs. Once that's sustained there is time and resources to expand and enjoy more fruits of that labour. If you have a corporate identity you are a corporate entity and you have no rights. If you don't acknowledge the crown then it needs not apply to the indigenous people of that land...
Lynn, another eye opening show with one of our best, Modacai. Wildlife poachers and stealing of certain indigenous trees like Muiiri was all an organized crime. Most recently crimes like stealing Muiri for mass exportation, a couple of times burning Mt. Kenya forest was all under the so-called experts covering up their criminal activity. BBC reported the cause of the fires was a marijuana farmer....one day, we shall have our Kenya back, hoping it'll not be rinsed dry by then. GenZ angalia hii manenos.
This was really good, some parts make you angry, some parts make you think and some parts are aha moments, but cumulatively, they get you thinking and asking questions which is good for the future. Thanks Lynn & team.

@@gibson2675 Why don't you tell the whole story. After Mugabe kicked the coloniser out, the UK conspired with her allies to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe (any individual company or country trading with Zimbabwe would face sanctions). All pre-approved loans which had been agreed on the international market were cancelled; they started funding a political party (the MDC), funded by whites, fronted by Blacks and then embarked on a vicious propaganda campaign against Mugabe accusing him of corruption, ineptitude and human rights abuse. Only recently, after investigating, the UN ruled the illegal economic sanctions were the cause of human rights abuse in Zimbabwe! In Tanzania the land belongs to the President and only Tanzanians can purchase the land. The president can take the land back from the owner at any time. No foreigner can own the land. That's how it should be
I am also connecting to your other interview where you asked a white settler descendant (Harris) why he was selling land that they only paid a survey fee for. Should our post colonial governments not take these lands back. Get it back and just give that settler maybe 5 acres. Get it back and share it amongst the indigenous people .

Ruto is mad. Those white envelopes end up in the hands of white entrepreneurs. In fact that money never ends up in Kenya, all the bookings are done abroad.
Wow I’m Kenyan and I’m so surprised we still have settlers in Kenya. I thought this thing was a South African , Namibia etc. Surely this system ought be dismantled. Happening in current Kenya? Shameful!!!
Great conversation. Very awakening. I think he should knw by now that, whatevr agreements there are regarding land ownership by "settlers", it's a win win both fr gvt and the settlers. There has to be something the land owners are gvng to the kenya gvt (might be some favors financially, militarily, tech, health prodcts, etc) fr them to allow the agreements to hold. From an outsiders view, it's easy to think that your life situation is because of the lands, biz, or other properties owned by settlers. Thats not true. And abt the british army in Nanyuki, did u knw that a signifcnt portion of Kenya army salaries and equipment are contributed by US and Britain? Now u knw.
Exactly, that's how the aristocratic kids learn how to drive. They even learn to drive as soon as they can reach the peddles, even if they're 10 years old. They learn how to fly age 16 years.
We Africans gained political independence but economic emancipation was deferred. If any president tries to change the comfort of former settlers, there is always hell to pay. Look at what happened to Mugabe, Idi Amin etc.
If i could sort out that land, i will be able to help locals who needs space to expand develop and thrive for future. The subject you are discussing about it's called global economic colonisation of Africa. Too many foreigners investing in Africa at big scales.

But you need to make the land productive or else whats the point
@@gibson2675 countries like Botswana for example has succeeded they are indigenous owned farmers and it is the number one exporter of beef in Africa to Asia, EU etc. As for Zimbabwe since 2017 the country has been very productive having bumper harvests and exporting their produce to other countries. They are many young people getting into farming and are succeeding right now. Things have changed
@@tifarestravels 100%
@@tifarestravels I pray and hope what you are saying is true.
@@gibson2675 What is your definition of productive, bring exotic tea, Billy Gate GMOs. If we are raising our local livestock , growing our original organic food like millet, sorghums, cassava and yam, how is that not productive. what is productive, one guy with 10, 000 acres or a community of 2500 people each with four acres of land, each with 6 cows, 10 goat, 10 sheep, 20 chicken, farm of yam, banana, cassava, vegetable , fruits and soo on.
"Dont get mad ,get smart and prove me wrong",Dr Clark
It is said that you either read history or trust the government
Well said and spot on
High mama i always say for Kenya to move forward we must do away with foreign military base and embassy because it seems we still a colony of some island 1 million kilometers away,no to house slave because we have many slave till these day
The land must return to the African kings and their communities!
I have learnt a lot thank you Lynn 🎉
Mapema ndiyo best :)
Love this channel. Her guests are top tier!
🦁Work not War.
😭We must learn that not even our nearest and dearest has the right to own or hold all anyones wealth let alone the nationals wealth.
Very educational and informative programme.
Keep it up and never forget that you are the owners and guardian of that land mass/continent for the Africa race.
💯Africa wake up and live.
Very informative
Ruto and raila must go
Now you are focusing 😅😅
This is why Julius Nyerere nationalized the land. Maumau's fight (The trial of Dedan Kimathi) led to the Petals of Blood and the Devil on the cross.
Entertaning anf funny but still very serious content. Lots of nuggets of wisdom. Food for thought.
Ngirimiti cia Nyakerû🙂
This was a very educative segment

Thanks team LNN for this thought provoking topics. You know what "God reveals to redeem" that the season our country as entered to be freed from this hidden colonial injustices generations as experienced
I’m an African diasporan living in Canada and I learnt some things I never knew before.
They are truly gate keepers in this world.
Other day please talk about foreign military bases😢😢😢. West African countries are closing them but we Kenyans keep quiet as if there are no foreign military bases on our soil. 😢😢😢
37:25 @Lynn emoji ya light bulb moment💡😂😅
A very interesting observation from the guest about settler colonialism. Gates advices on health and agriculture and not IT his area of expertise.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on the interview.🙌🏽
Well known people or politicians who benefited from grabbing or illegal allocation of lands are the following:
Kenyatta family including Jomo Kenyatta, Uhuru Kenyatta and Mama Ngina Kenyatta
Daniel Arap Moi
Mwai Kibaki
Odinga family
William Ruto
Kalonzo Musyoka
And many more. So who do you expect to get the land back for you? Read Joe Khamisi's book: Looters and Grabbers of Kenya to get the other names.
Wow! Another national treasure Mordecai Ogada. Thank you for bringing him back here.
The bitter truth is to correct this we will have to bear with sanctions or worse a war, someone told me the foreign barracks in our country are there to protect there governments interest,we are a low key colony😢
Price comes with freedom. If we are to be free we have to pay it or choose to remain slaves forever
Hello LNN family. If you agree with me that we are here by the hand of the Lord type amen
Ameen and Amiina🎉🎉
Who sung this song"Hii system NI ya Majabazi" kalamashaka ama?
ALOT OF WORK IS AHEAD IN KENYAN PARLIAMENT 😢😢😢😢. I JUST WANT SOME PEOPLE TO GO TO GILGIL THERE IS A COLONIZER OWNING LAND ALL THE WAY FROM GILGIL TO NAIVASHA. NO ACCESS. NO ROADS 😢😢😢😢 GO TO LAIKIPIA SAME THING NYAHURURU 😢😢😢😢😢 I WONDER WHAT ARE THE PARLIAMENTALIANS DOING AT THIS TIME IF THEY ARE NOT AMENDING SOME OF THIS LAWS THEY OPPRESSING AND LEADING TO UNDERDEVELOPMENT IN SOME PARTS OF KENYA. IF PEOPLE CAN ROTATE SOMEONE'S LAND WHICH IS IN HECTARES BECAUSE HE CAN'T ALLOW ROAD TO PASS THROW
This is not only a Kenyan issue, all Anglophones are under the British Crown and all Francophones are under the French....colonial masters are still in power thats why they formed the Common Wealth countries which are all under the British 👑....do you remember on Queens funeral they were ferried with a Bus to the burial service while the rest of the world leaders from 2nd and 1st world countries enjoyed luxurious cars.....its a huge and complicated issue ,there were alot of sighned deals that are hidden.....right now Newzealand indigenous people are fighting for the same issues....Africa and all Pacific Islands that were colonized by British, French,Portugal, Spain, America are still under their power.
@leonalee TOBOA!!
Can a Kenya own emptyvland in England or Europe??My Kenyans wakeup we must fight for the future of our kids our ancestors did their part now it's our time.
If they purchase it. Yes
@@gibson2675like I did and paying taxes
@@gibson2675Africans will not be allowed to purchase it. Period. If it is up for sale, they will claim it has been sold.

The president recently said in laikipia..thst reject those local tourist with small budget nd welcome the white envelops(big figure) amount....
😢
Making it even harder for Africans to see their own heritage. $200 (Shs 25,000+) p/p/day at some parks 😮
Shameful!!!
It is indeed a complex issue that needs to be addressed and debated.
Hahaha! So you are not Kenya that's an admission
Visit laikipia nyahururu etc you will realise you are a second hand human beings 😢😢😢
Powerful and invigorating 👊🏿
I will say this again kenya was sold 350,000, Million dollars. We live in our country on lease
Good morning everyone ❤ nice having him back again
Now u knw.
That British system is brutal and Ruto lay red carpet for Charles, steupppppps.
The very Ruto who claims to be a descendant of Arap Samoie, the Laibon who was detained and beheaded by the Europeans.
In UK I understand you can drive without a licence in your owned land
Exactly, that's how the aristocratic kids learn how to drive. They even learn to drive as soon as they can reach the peddles, even if they're 10 years old. They learn how to fly age 16 years.
This, this interesting Topic!
By the way whatever happened to ndabini the land owned by Diane delamere who died childless. Was the land returned to the locals
We Africans gained political independence but economic emancipation was deferred. If any president tries to change the comfort of former settlers, there is always hell to pay. Look at what happened to Mugabe, Idi Amin etc.
@b.3490 Well said
Pay and be free, fear and become slave forever
If i could sort out that land, i will be able to help locals who needs space to expand develop and thrive for future. The subject you are discussing about it's called global economic colonisation of Africa. Too many foreigners investing in Africa at big scales.
@anilasharma well said.
Kenya need a revolutionary president to review revise the laws to make it work for the majority
No it's need revolutionary people who can keep the government in check
@LukeWright One person cannot execute the revolution. WE must all be revolutionaries.
I'm still trying to understand how Kenya gained independence in 1963 . The colonialist only went away physically
Not physically if they still own track of land
Neo-colonisation
yyees and KENYATTA was their puppets 😢😢😢
