    This build is fantastic. What other advancements can be added to your Birdy since the 4 years ago when you made this video? Of course, I keep thinking about the ultimate Brompton T-Line. Does Birdy make a bike that's comparable to the T-Line? Does Birdy make a bike that's nearly as lightweight and compact? Thank you.

    Hi Jamie, nice Birdy you have there. I was just wondering if you have ever tried a Moulton bike in Singapore. I live in Australia and am deciding between a Moulton bike or a Birdy. I don't need the folding feature, just like small wheeled bicycles but choice is limited in Australia. I would like to do longer rides up to 100 km or so with some luggage attached is some kind of day bag.
    Looking forward to your reply, cheers from Mike

    • @jamieohpa
      @jamieohpa  3 роки тому

      Birdy released a “Rohloff” edition thats specifically catered for really long rides..the hub doesn’t require much servicing. This could be well suited for what you need. Most small wheeled bicycles are foldable in nature so I reckon that’s something of a standard for most manufacturers. Also, I have never tried a Moulton bike, will go look it up. Cheers!

    All these upgrades you did to your bike will cause you a lot. You should just get a Tyrell FSX or a Tern Verge X series. Both are superior bikes by a long shot.

    • @kerdak
      @kerdak 4 роки тому +1

      I have owned 3 bromptons, two terns and lots of other foldies for the last 20 years, mod it to the core, race it and even brought it to overseas to like a dozen countries/terrains and was so in love with them until i tried a Birdy last year. I have been riding Hardcore since the 70s and cycling pretty much is my life. The solidified frame structure and steadfast rigid frame make it the best folding bike i ever ridden. The speed & solidity a Birdy produce while sprinting is undeniably finest & greatest. Bought myself one and ride it ever since. It’s been 18 months and all i can say is, If it aint’ a Birdy, it is nothing. So burn up and get yourself a Birdy. Beyond doubt, it is The Best Folding Bike On The Planet.

      @@kerdak Your sharing is useful to me. Thank you.
      In the 90s, I was into cycling around the island on my mountain bike. Then in my adulthood I stopped due to studies, pursuing a career etc. A couple of years ago, I wanted to start cycling again and I had the intention to get a Tern Verge X..can’t remember which X but it was out of stock. While waiting for the stock to arrive, I got deep vein thrombosis on my leg and spent the next few years nursing a stiff and sore leg.
      Fast forward to last year, I tried my friend’s Brompton and fell down stupidly due to my slow, lethargic leg. I notice recently that my leg is much better now so I tried another friend’s Tern and fell down stupidly again. I don’t care as it’s time to cycle again and I reckon I’ll just practice and retrain my left leg! I’ve spent the past few days looking at bikes and there are friends who urged me to get a Brompton or Dahon. I do not like both at all.
      I have set my mind on a Birdy GT but they currently don’t have the colour I want for preorder. So it’s either I select another colour or just wait.

    Hi, I noticed that you've removed the chainguard that comes with the Birdy. Do you face any issues with the chain falling out when riding or folding the bike? I'm thinking of upgrading the chain ring but will not be able to install the chainguard back. So wanted to know if this will be an issue. Thanks!

      more tyre choice. Choice for 18" is poor and the best ever race tyres, Primos, have been unavailable for many years now. And without changing the gears, slightly higher gearing.
