    How quickly people forget that the 2-3 weeks before the all star break the entire team couldn't shoot a fish in a barrel. Like Roosh says, the whole issue is shooting. Right now the reason they are shooting great isn't because Sengun is out, it's because they are shooting great. Everything they are doing great on offense right now they could still be doing if Sengun was in, it's literally just FVV, Amen, and JG running the court after rebounds and steals, and hitting 3's, something they were not doing consistently before the all star break. Remember we used to criticize Jalen and Fred for not running plays together or with the Amen. The things that have changed with the team aren't about Sengun. It's about FVV and Jalen not fucking the game up in one way or the other. I say that just to point out that the getting rid of Sengun thing is absolutely crazy to me and it seems to be coming from the people upset at other fans for criticisms against Jalen when he was playing poorly for most of the season

      I do think the break helped. You get your legs back. That and the back to backs are basically over at this point so these young players generally recover pretty well with 1 day of rest.

    I told you guys to be patient! I agree; Jalen was thinking too much. He had 2 years of no consequences, no defense, no rebounding, & very little playmaking. He was an ISO chucker. Ime is molding him into a COMPLETE player that shoots, rebounds, defends, & is beginning to playmake. It took D Booker 4-5 years; give him another year.

    I think getting a girl pregnant also affected his focus and mental state back in October. He was 21 at the time and perhaps couldn’t believe that he was going to be a dad. Fast forward to the present, with his girlfriend’s pregnancy at seven months, his initial state of denial is finally over, and it has now become his biggest inspiration.

    Another great vlog as well as great collab, literally I was all ears from the beginning to your wrapping it up, and nearly missed a single word from your talk, the only reason I’ve been following your vlogs for so long is bc:
    Firstly, You guys staying objectively and staying loyal to what you see;
    Secondly, You guys never expressing your concerns before collecting enough stat;
    And lastly but most important of all, You guys keeping focus on THE Rockets other than shifting your passion between certain players which is a premise of serious bball talk❤

    JG used to give up the ball too early when they run the p&r. now he's taking more time ang attacking or stepping back for more high percentage shot. he's physically capable now taking more contact thats why he's more confident near the rim.

    For one of the double step back by JG, he was actually penetrate, then stopped because he saw Thompson in the corner, then he decided to take the step back to avoid being doubled in the penetration. He started to figure out how to use spacing for his advantage.

    So most of fans (mostly green's stans) are walking on th space now but we already knew that this is the easy schedule, real fight is coming in April. They are already ready to trade Sengun now (mostly green stan's again) they forgot that sengun was on the floor until Sacramento's game (inclued this one) after that easy schedule started. There were 2 serious teams which were the first Cavs and they missed mobley and Donovan was actually injured when he was playing and when the game finished he admitted that I shouldn't play Houston game second serious team was Chicago and they have so many problems especially bemch..all i am saying that wins are good but lets wait April for feal fight. And then lets talk about ttading Sengun end of the season..

    I think it's unfair to dismiss Cam as not max money when he's proven he is a great scorer from Day 1. Everything I've seen from him is great and prior to March, it was Cam that Rockets are banking on as SG next season if Jalen continued to play bad.

  • @jalenjohnson0339
    @jalenjohnson0339 7 місяців тому +3

    Well that’s why Ime gets paid the big bucks he going to have to figure out how to have Jalen Amen and Sengun play play together in their peaks as a trio. I think he can do it because those three have good chemistry with each other.
    You guys have brought up a good point about Dillion. Despite Dillion being good for us for most of the year with how Amen is playing especially the 3. Dillion Brooks has kind of became expendable.
    But I doubt the rockets are going to trade him anytime soon or he going to come off the bench because the front office was super high on him and they wanted to get him in free agency.
    Wouldn’t be shock if Dillion here for the next year or two.Even though we have Amen Tari and Cam.
    But with that said this off season they need to get more shooting and get another big.
    It all comes down what will Stone do with the Nets pick.
    If that pick is like in the 7-10 range or below just use it to get Ware or that center from Baylor. Great thing about this draft is it’s a deep big man draft. So the rockets can draft a center.
    If the Nets pick land in the top 5 or 6. If they don’t trade down or out of the pick they need to get another shooter I know he didn’t have a good game at the tournament but Reed is the shooter we need coming off the bench and he could be that backup point guard off the bench.
    All in all this is a good problem to have let see what happens in these final 12 games

    • @drespective4678
      @drespective4678 7 місяців тому

      Udoka don't care shit about what the front office thinks. He's benched Brooks this season. So I know he'll make all the right decisions with who starts and who gets playing time.

    I’d love to see the Rockets go after someone like Tyus Jones in Free Agency. He would be a great stabilizing backup PG who could keep Fred fresh and bring maturity and basketball IQ to this young roster. He also has chemistry with Steven Adams and Dillon Brooks from his days in Memphis with them forming a strong bench unit with Eason and Whitmore.

  • @DeBeard

    No matter jalen's impact on this 9 winning streak is abnormal or a new norm, one thing for sure next season when alpi back Ime'd better stagger jalen and alpi after first rotation in first qrt, that means Ime either let our backcourt tandem to lead fast paced game, or let alpi to cook, and lead a half court meat grinder games, in the former scheme, keeping tari and amen around our guards would secure rebounds on both ends of floor, while in the latter, landing legitimate spot shooters or movement shooters will help a lot.
    Either way, i feel happy at least We've seen this team can play both tempo games and half court offense games, that could make many teams in this league pretty difficult to adjust…all in all in this summer stone'd better stop kicking the can and land some reliable shooters.

  • @bigradwolf5001
    @bigradwolf5001 7 місяців тому +1

    I like that thought of weight being lifted of Jalen once the baby is out public that you can see he is light as a feather. That's a deep input worthy of taken seriously. Now, as a joke, if that one baby news came out and made Jalen this, can you imagine today's news that says 2 other babies he sired, both out of his chest and mind stress now? He'll be MJ + LBJ greatness combined I think starting this game in Portland.

    A lot of the talk on the Rockets future is based on Jalen’s current form, but there’s a lot of recency bias, since this form is very much aligned with the calendar and the the low level of opposition. It’s probably not just coincidence that the whole team is playing their best as well. We need to see how Jalen can sustain it against the best teams and in tough environments on the road. As Roosh pointed out, the quality of shots he take is about the same, the difference is that he makes them. He’s still a walking heat check. History tells he won’t sustain his current shooting efficiency, but if he can keep at least the consistent finishing at the rim without getting blocked or stripped, that would be true improvement indeed.

    As we're gradually figuring out that jalen's a ultra rhythm shooter is a good thing and a bad thing:
    Good thing, we know how to make use of his strength, bad thing, alpi need the ball, jalen need the ball either, we gotta stagger this two, let'em lead different strings.

    @FTank58 Here is my shortlist of unrestricted FA's this offseason I'd like the Rockets to take a shot at if they don't resign with their current teams.
    In no particular order: Gary Trent Jr, Nick Claxton, Cedi Osman, Isaiah Hartenstein, Markelle Fultz, Malik Monk
    I think most of them will be out of the price range for the FO, but just 1 of them would improve our depth rotations immensely.

    1:04:25 My thought on this is Jalen most likely shows a lot of what they want during practices that we do not see in games and that is why the coaches continue to keep him as starter, knowing when he plays bad, they can and did yank him out of 4Q.

    Jalen was showing signs even early on but they were too far in between but we're rebuilding and getting better.

    I always compared, flow of our offense vs flow of other average/better team's offense. our guys were always late on decision making, even 1 second delay on obvious play, will result your offense struggle. because the opponents simply mostly don't have that delay, they will have upper hand. this is the case mostly on Jabari and Jalen and when you have staggering players, whole roster will be affected, even vets like FVV or quick decision makers like Sengun will have hard time to fire up a flow or make a correct play. That's why, we were using FVV Sengun pnr as a safe bet most of the time.
    Now it seems flow looks better, and Amen brings easy transition offense, which unlocks for better flow because players are forced to do simple reads and simple attack, non complicated offense.
    I only hope that this streak of wins brings permanent confidence boost. that way we can continue to build up for more complicated offense on top of this.

    Jalen is playing great, but I'm not convinced in his jump shot and overall efficiency. He is still taking some very difficult shots (i.e., step back 3's, etc.) that are going in....but I am not convinced these shots are part of a winning strategy...and Roosh made this point...Jalen is still taking some very difficult shots but they are just going in. Thinking long term...unless we can find a way to keep the supporting cast...Amen, Jabari, Cam, and Tari...I don't think that maxing out Jalen and Alpi...without keeping the other players (i.e., Amen, Jabari, Cam, Tari, etc.) will win us a championship. Maybe I'm wrong...but we will see.

    I love bari and his elbow j as good as his turnaround j, however when those jumpers simply ain't fall, his lack of athleticism at 4 or 5 immediately being indefinitely magnified, that could make Ime beginning to consider replace him with amen or tari next to alpi next season.
    (also, like Frank once said, dunno why, even those nights when bari opened fire beyond the arc at will, collected 20pt hands down, his impact to the games simply ain't there, THAT'S really something beyond our comprehension)

  • @EF_HUTTON
    @EF_HUTTON 7 місяців тому +1

    Yea Jeff vangundy wouldn't start the offense until 14 sec that's why he kept the scores under 90
    So all in all I'm thinking the best thing is just keep this whole team the way it is Dillion Is like Mario Elie Amen is great and either one can come off the bench Think Elie horry ...
    We just need a legit second big WALKER KESSLER LIKE think Otis Thorpe... off bench or whatever I think the 3 and 4 should be a competitive position and rotation match up based job fill because Amen off the bench has advantages ...
    So would dillion or Bari.
    Now as for the flack I took for saying Jalen pg version aint a bad future option and being able to spot how valuable he was as a primary ball handler ...it's cool I know ball and roosh is right just like I said before a rip Hamilton Jalen would really be better and easier to reach than just keep tryng to be ant man or kobe... Jalen is more ja than kobe or ant man even more CLYDE than MJ
    IF he can't make it he gotta get to rip and that's still elite . And Fred is good I love Fred I was the first person on the chop shop to bring up the rockets getting Fred it was last year before the season was even over ...that being said if I can get better in my front court I keep dillion Bari alpi Jalen can Amen and upgrade...I'm saying for a triple j I'd rather move Fred than anyone else ... I'd love to keep the whole team and just find a Derrick lively or walker kessler mark Williams and .... KEEP THIS TEAM AND BUILD CHEMISTRY. let em all grow until you have to move someone or loose em

    One more is more likely Jalen can take over at pg
    Or
    You find a player like Dillion Brooks shooting 40pct from 3
    Dillion like Elie or a crazy battier
    Y dat important
    Because amen at 3 makes up for the rest of Fred vv
    And that money could really bolster the roster
    And bringing in a Seth curry or Steve Kerr type pg and a secondary big that can swing from 4 to 5 better than Jabari means you only need Jabar alpi and a (?) I think we really can get a real guy in the draft just get the best 7'2 shooter with size and strength and none this matters but

      apology for playing dog most of season? only to start playing since ASB and missing playoffs cause of it? if jalen played like this since start we would be 4th seed rn. Hes been doing this 3 years now btw, imagine if he does the same next year.

    The team without Sengun has just been a better brand of basketball. The team just looks more comfortable with Jalen running the show.
