It seems to me that you are installing a lot of residual stress in such a large surface, aren't you afraid of cracks developing later as a result? I am no expert and am very intrigued by these shrinking wheels, its a great concepts. I just do not know all the boundaries.

do i take it the wheel just create's heat by friction then shinking the high spot area ?. is the use of a shrinking hammer&dolly old hat , have ya ever tried a hot wond ?
