Engines need clean fuel. Sleeping Beauty Jag Mk2 had been sitting for 15 years so the petrol was "off" and the tank was full of sludge....See what I did!
I really enjoyed the video today. We had to take the tank out of our MK1 and get it cleaned. It was a bit of a job. Can't wait to hear this old girl fire up!
You are very fortunate the tank plug came out! Have had 3 Jags with stuck plugs. One never came out even using a 24 inch pipe wrench. Brass. Easy to mess up.

Gotta say this is so much better with out all those images, BUT like me it's your channel you do what the F you like as I do on mine, Personally I just prefer this format. I found the old fuel is still useful for cleaning stuff. FYI I cannot know who subscribes to my channel but you 'MAY' find it interesting. I am a UA-cam novice - personally, I prefer just the technical stuff. Yours are great (I am a subscriber). Me fixing the clock will be the dullest episode when I get around to it, but probably the most watched!! Cos we all suffer problems and we are fascinated about how to fix them.
We talk funny cos Australians are now a mish-mash of many cultures - the origins of modern Australia are from you lot - same legal system, same beliefs and the King is "Defender of the Faith" for us Anglicans. One big difference is that no real farmer here drives a Range Rover (like Jeremey Clarkson) - its Toyota Landcruisers/HiLux here. .... Range Rovers are for well-off inner-city Mothers...
Nothing said yet about water in the system for 15 years. Have a 1959 Mk 1 that had water in the system for unknown period of time. All aluminum water parts were plugged with white crystal mush. Hope yours isn't.

My pump looked newish. I disconnected fuel line at filter and pump fuel through the line for a while. I didn't have any problems with water
