I have been looking for this video for 22 years or so! I was in Jo'burg the day of the game but didn't make it to Soccer City and also failed to record it on VCR. So big big kudos for posting this game.Thank you DMV. Coincidentally I was also in Harare earlier in the same month on the day Zimbabwe beat South Africa 4-1.
Six of the players on the field that day for Zambia were on the plane that crashed into the sea off Libreville, Gabon eight months later in April 1993. Those guys were talented, self-assured as a team and cohesive as a unit; especially the back line and the midfield.

This match was played in October 1992 Kk looked rusty in this game, apparently having been inactive for most of 1992 upon the completion of afcon earlier in the year in Senegal. But from this game onwards, the team improved with each game played and by April 1993, had become razor sharp and could even beat Brazil in Rio

South Africa didn’t play in 1992 . It was still banned . Also , the 1992 ACN was held in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire won it against Ghana after penalty shootouts .
