- With the 2020 Season almost starting, let´s remember who was the most winning car/driver combo of last Season. Karl Schagerl and his mighty VW Golf Mk2 continued their impressive march as one of the All Time Best Teams in Hillclimb Racing, conquering another Austrian Championship and seeing the car reach its most evolved Spec ever.
Now with the Ramler Motorsport tuned 2.0L TFSi engine unit developing an immense 702Hp/8.500Rpm and 720Nm of Torque and weighing only 960Kg, this Monster is starting to reach the pinnacle of its evolution and having solved some of the reliability isues it had before, it simply crushed all competition on pretty much any race it entered. Apart from only a couple events (where it dealt with some monor problems), it won pretty much every event it competed in and beating a good number of All Time Toruing Car records along the way. With the rumour a whole new engine engine being used this new Season, let´s just see how far this Monster will go...

If they ever retire this car (due to pure domination of course!), I'd love to see them play with the modern VW platform/motor, MQB and the newer gen EA888s.

Rumour is this 2020 season the car will have a new engine. Chances are it will be a more modern VW motor.
HillClimb Monsters Sweet! Hopefully the rumor is true! Though I’d hate to see this current Golf pulled apart. I hope they just build it in a new platform and retire this Monster MK2 as a hillclimb legend 🙏🏼

It has a nice livery, although a bit safe. And we can agree that it is using it for quite some time now...

It’s optimized for tracks with lots of curves, its high speed is likely way too slow for the Nordschleife.

8500rpm red line it shifts at about 7k.It would sound much better
some of these hillclimb specials make the once mighty group B supercars look like parked ford cortinas.
