I like that the washing machine is nicely tucked away in its own little corner. I also like that the kitchen and bathroom are separate from the living space. Sleeping in the loft would take some getting used to 😬 And given that you are afraid of heights, is not really an option anyway. So you could use it for storage and/or hiding 😅. However, where to put the bed? No idea. Thanks for another entertaining video! I love your sense of humour.

I really like it, the entrance and kitchenette is nicely separated from the living room. The loft can be used for storage, clothes, toilet paper, books and anything else just buy some low shelf. Then you could have a sofa bed in the living room, plus a desk/table and chair. It's bright, spacious and the rent is quite good.
I actually would use the secret base to sleep! I'm small and like cozy spaces, it would feel like a cave, I would fit right in haha. then the first floor would fit a desk and some extra furniture no problem. I could even use the ladder to display some potted plants 🪴
I like this one a Lot but that's a bit of a cruise to get to Tokyo. Nice to be able to close the door to cooking smells and washing machine noise, though.
The living room is big enough to make it into a bedroom itself lol. This one is really great for sure and i like how the kitchenette is separated from with a door.

I love this apartment! When you sleep in the loft there is enough of space downstairs for a TV, desk and maybe a tiny couch or an arm chair. Also the rent is affordable. I personally would move their immediately.
This one is actually very nice and it's on the cheaper side too.

I liked this one! You could put the bed in the main room. You can hang blankets and store them on the ladder. The storage would be good for out of season clothing, records and luggage. I like how the kitchenette is separate from the main room. It’s a mini 1DK!
I've been doing a lot of research on the Scandinavian furniture that can transform for small spaces. Such as a Murphy bed with an attached desk that just tucks away when you lower the bed, or the couch that turns into twin beds in 5 seconds. I think this furniture would work wonders in these small places. I'm 60 yrs old & just can't physically go up ladders like that anymore. And we won't even discuss the fact that after a certain age it seems you spend 1/2 your night in bed & the other half in the bathroom....🤣🤣🤣 So I would definitely have to figure out my sleeping place in the main area. But I do really like this one. Thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you 💞💞💞

The separation of kitchen, bath and living area is great. The Secret Base makes for wonderful storage! I still think your best bet in many of these is a loft bed. It couch/futon. I like this apartment. 😊

I like this one, it has character even if it's a bit small. Having two windows on opposed walls is very rare in micro appartments, it is excellent for air circulation! I would try sleeping in the secret base, I think.
Could use a sofa bed. Tucked away when you are not sleeping.
Well for me is a good option, the space is something weird in the main room 😮, but I like the door to separe the kitchen, and the loof Will be a space to put your things, bed clothes, etc😊😊😊
Oh yes, this person who did this interior I was really trying hard. Shoes can go over top of the washing machine and then coats can go over top of the shoes. And then the miracle.🎉 gas stove! Lovely, reflective surround plus a tiny cute 🥰 refrigerator. Wonderful floor. I love the door separating the two rooms. The only thing that can make this entrance better would be some sort of sliding cover that would cover the kitchen area when you walked in, so it would not be visible the second you step in. Toilet and tub area functional I like the cover for the tub save money. All you need is functional in those areas. I no idea why people have to have big fancy bathrooms. However, I think you should have some compression rods to carry with you everywhere to feel secure about having extra toilet paper storage.😅. I think you’re seeing this secret area wrong. Do you need a comfortable rug, a nice tea set, or a nice bottle of wine with cute tiny wine, glasses.
With your phone turned off and your favorite buddy /little plastic dude. And just relax may be a pad of paper and pencil. As your mind expands, so will the area.
How about if you got a couple cabinets and put one end of the ladder on one and one end of the ladder on the other, and sleep on the ladder placed horizontally, of course😂 just kidding. I think that the cost of this apartment is fine three stories isn’t too hard to get your washer dryer up. Take a break halfway and have lunch. Are you above the tsunami level? Oh, and I forgot to say that bar in the living room is for hanging your clothes; that is my size a closet. A lot of windows, I’m thinking it’s a top floor, so no noise from above good breezes at night in the summer. Park your bed desk under combo in front of the big window so you can open the window at night and look out on the city!❤

It's a very nice apartment with the natural light, a separate kitchen, and a nice bathroom. The only downside was the loft space; but it can be used as storage which is a plus, Usui-San.
Overall, it's great.

This one isn't too bad despite not having a freezer in the mini fridge, no toilet paper storage, very low ceiling on the loft, and interesting angle of the wall. It is still very spacious. If I lived in this studio, I would also treat the loft as an attic and store some things up there 😅
In my opinion this is one of the best so far, sunny, with street view, nice kitchen space with everything needed, nice bathroom space and a loft good enough to use as storage and to sleep in a futon while being able to create a cozy living space with a desk in the living area
This is one of the bigger of micro apartments, with a counter top over the washing mashine you’ve got some prep space for cooking etc, but knowing you with heights I guess we are still looking,,,,,, at least it’s not PURPLE 😂😂😂😂
I like how bright the room is. Storage in the loft could work and it does have more space than your current place.
I actually do like this one. The washing machine is in the kitchen area. And the kitchen sink is nice and big. The bathroom (which doubles for drying clothes) has a little tub, which I like. It's great for soaking, especially tired legs and feet after a lot of walking. I agree, the loft would be best used for storage. I think the thing on the wall is a small shelf with a bar for hanging clothes. I'm only 147 cm and can use a child size furniture.

Best layout so far - well thought out. Like this one. Maybe a foldout sleeper sofa in living room if ladder can be moved 😢.
I like that it's a little cheaper than the others you've seen, and how the kitchen can be closed off in case you cook so smells can be isolated, but arranging furniture in that space does look challenging.😅

Like this flat! Separate kitchen is good, secret base for storage and you can bring on toilet storage on your own. Maybe a small sleeping sofa would be nice. But the location is bit far outside
If you could sleep in the secret base I would give it an A+! ✅️👍 For me it is the best by far that you ever visited. Only the space in front of the kitchen is a bit lost because you cannot do anything with it and it is only for staying in front of the kitchen and washing machine. I also would prefer a shower where you can go in directly and not a bath tub but nothing is perfect.
I could not climb so high and I would not come down because I am handicapped so this apartment would be not the best for me but if someone can use the space above as sleeping room it would be perfect and like a two room apartment. So if you use the space it is an A+, if you only use it as storage it is a B or C because placing a bed at the bottom level would be very difficult.
By the way it is cozy even without furniture. 😊

If it were not for the angled wall, this could be quite a good place. The kitchenette is very good, and so is the place for the washing machine. The toilet room is nice, and it's excellent to have a bathtub even if it is small. Of course, the loft is a problem but it could be ignored. It is that angled wall that makes this apartment very difficult. I think that odd shelf is meant to be a place to hang clothes. Glad to know you will still keep looking for somewhere better! Will Marty McFly be visiting next?

Of the apartments that we have seen, I like this one the best. I would take measurements for bed placement, but I really like that the whole room is usable for living. I think the enclosed entrance/kitchenette keeps things private and the bathroom is quite functional. Having a small shelf/clothes hanger in the living area is very convenient. The toilet paper storage area is the only thing missing.
I like how the kitchen is separated by a door and also like the huge living room. I don't have an appreciation of how small the loft is however? I thought it is huge 😅

A futon sofa will be better to save space. The loft will give extra storage for containers of clothes, food stuff,supplies and all the toliet paper!😁💕✌️
I think this is one of the better micro apartments you have toured! I like that the kitchen is separate with a door that can be closed (also a plus for you since the light and noise from the refrigerator would not be there) with a space for the washing machine is really neat! You could put shoes above and/or clothes above the washer! I understand that you are afraid of heights, but perhaps you could use the loft as storage and downstairs have your bed as both a bed and sofa by the weird wall. Your desk by one of the windows, perhaps by the ladder as you won't have to go up there often?
I think this one has a lot of potential, but perhaps the location isn't the closest if you work in Tokyo. It depends on how willing you would be to travel 30 minutes by train, or the higher rent than your current place. Thank you for the video! 😊
I like this one! Nice, sunny natural light. The bathroom is separated and not a fishbowl lol. It has a small refrigerator, yay! Although, it doesn’t have toilet paper storage, but that can be easily remedied. This is a good one!

I really like this one. For me, the sleeping loft is cozy. I'd put my head by the little window for fresh air. You could have a desk or table for working and eating & maybe a small couch or big arm chair.
At first I didn't think the bed could work in the loft but when we looked closer I think it is possible to sleep across from the narrow side.

Hello Usuisan, I like this very bright apartment. As for furniture placement, you could use the type of bed that allows a desk to be placed underneath (I'm not sure what that's called.) I'm in agreement with you that the upper area can be used for storage. I also like that you have an actual bathtub, and I believe the small rack on the wall is for clothing storage. All that being said, I think that the rent is a little steep for the area considering that it's a 30 minute train ride to Tokyo Station. Depending on what personality type you are, I feel that it's a bit too far removed from central Tokyo for an active young person. On the other hand, if you are more reserved, it may be a nice quiet neighborhood. As always, the decision is up to you. Happy hunting.
As a French, living in the suburbs of Paris, that apartment is AMAZING for the price lol with all the equipment it already has. But I admit that it is VERY narrow and the loft situation is kind of problematic. Thank you for sharing your experience, I love to watch your videos to relax ☺️
No toilet paper storage... but a mini tub! I really like this one for it's well thought out design and the extra loft space. Also were the slippers at the beginning for people coming to view the apartment? It's a really nice touch!
I like that the kitchenette is separate so when the washer is on you can close the door while on the computer working. The tiny little rack and shelf for your clothes because no closet I didn’t like. No bathroom storage is a problem because who wants to climb a ladder to get toilet paper. It’s unfortunate that pocket doors aren’t used in these micro apartments.
I feel like, with the ladder tucked against the wall as you showed, it would be a good opportunity to put in a sofa bed against that wall … or a futon on a frame. That way, you could even entertain w/o having guests in your “bedroom”.

I too am afraid of heights, so wouldn’t really want to navigate that ladder every day. However, I think I’d rather like sleeping in the cozy loft IF the AC is powerful enough to cool it sufficiently.
I like this one. The rent is good. Forgot the loft. Used the ladder to hang stuff from. You have to be creative, and I think you are right that a folding bed might be best, but maybe a loft style bed with a desk or storage under it? And 30 mins to the city is a short commute.
The loft is useless as living space so would just be storage and not so often accessed. I love this space. Separate kitchen is fantastic, no noise from fridge and washing machine. Bathroom is spacious. Yes the wall is awkward but still possible to put the bed against it, desk at the window and small cupboard between the two doors is what I would do. 👍
Hello , hope you are doing well.If you do not use the loft as bed but as storage , you can put your bed under the AC in this corner. Of course there is not space for the desk 🧐🤔 This one could be nice with soft light on the back of the building away from street noise. But not yet the perfect one. Good bathroom. Slightly better kitchen than usual. Good price. Not the worst so far, though not ideal.

This one is workable. Even though you'd have to make a pallet if you slept in the loft instead of having a bed, that could work. The folding bed downstairs is a great idea and use the loft for storage. Or perhaps a sofa bed?

A very interesting option...The walls are light, there is a micro-kitchen, and the living area is separated by doors. There is even a bathtub, which is very good)And the space on top can be used for storage

I love the door between entrance (with kitchenette) and living room. It is just like a german hallway (we call it Flur, and its often smaller than this room. But we dont have kitchens in there).
I love the huuuuge bathroom. The shower room could also be a german bathroom, you could also put the toilet next to the sink.
I also love the separation of living and sleeping area. And i love the light in the living area.

I like the layout of the entryway and kitchenette, and the amount of light it gets. But that loft is awfully high up and then so low-ceilinged...! Using it for storage sounds reasonable; I know I would put off getting things from it. ^_^;;;

Usui me gustaría saber, ¿puedes perforar las paredes? Porque si así es, puedes poner una cama que se pliegue y guarde contra la pared, así como una mesa plegable y una repisa en el baño para el papel higiénico.
Me da curiosidad saber el porqué no ves la forma de ubicar la cama y te desanima el no contar con el almacenamiento para el papel, aquí en en Colombia es solo poner un cajón y ya. 🤔

Usui, the upstairs loft could be used for toilet paper storage! That is the only positive thing I can say about this apartment. It isn't very nice at all! Keep looking... :)

I think after the furnished apartment in Shibuya you showed us a few episodes ago, this apartment is the next best. It’s big enough so you could easily have a loft bed below itself and use the above space for storage.
I think the bar by the window is the closet. 😂. I’d live and sleep down stairs and use the loft for storage. I like this apartment. Get a sofa bed.
A loft bed platform that sits just above the doors could have a couple of storage steps at the loft end, then underneath you could have a low table and a low desk.
Put tv on wall so you can watch in bed.
Bottom level is tall. Lower the ceiling to give secret base more head room. Remove tub and wall between toilet shower. As washable shower curtain could go there and there would be more functional space to use.
Its a rental, you wouldn't be allowed to do renovations

J'aime que la machine à laver soir à l'entrée et la micro cuisine est minuscule, mais fonctionelle. La salle de bain est bien mais pas de rangement pour le papier de toilette. Aussi le plafond du loft est beaucoup trop étroit. Je pense qu'il a des beaux avantages parce qu'il est très grand pour un micro-appartement, mais qu'il ne vous convient pas vu les problématiques.

I think it is the best one so far. Have you considered a Murphy bed that installs on the wall? I'd do that or a loft bed on the long slanted wall. Its nice to have all that storage space and have the bathroom and kitchen with a door

This is a slightly larger apartment. But if this room were more square, it would fit easily. I see that it's ingenious to have a toilet bowl and a sink together.
Yes but I keep wondering do you have to straddle the toilet to wash your hands after using it? Many of the appartments seem like you couldn't fit standing next to one.
It's nearly perfect, just the ladder. Stairs, it needs stairs. The good thing about stairs is that underneath / stairs can be used for storage. It doesn't need to be a grand staircase, but enough to get up to the loft ... 😊
That ceiling in the loft is definitely the deal breaker. Does that mean it was the top floor? Wonder what the apartments below it are like?
Because the loft is not very usable for anything other than a futon or sleeping bag, finding a place for anything other than a bed that “tucks away” (futon, folding cot, sleeping bag) will be difficult. I did notice someone mentioning a sofa bed, which could work, not sure if it’s wide enough for one.
And that shelf with a towel rack on it… ? 🤔 I feel like that should have been installed in the bathroom. Doesn’t make sense where it is.
Edited to say you didn’t mention what kind of amenities were nearby, so I’m wondering if there isn’t much? That may not be good too (don’t know the neighbourhood, so can’t say).

You should consider a European side fold away bed that have a desk on the underside. That would be the only way to make a space like this work.

If you are going to use the loft as storage, maybe you should consider a sofa/couch that converts into a bed to save room. There are quite a few options out there that are pretty innovative. Love the videos, looking forward to the next space!

$155.00 more than your current studio. Because of the angular walls and ceilings it makes it difficult to arrange the furniture or move around in the loft. It's a NO. 🤷

I feel like they could have made the loft a little taller by lowering the ceiling height in the rest of the apartment. I'd feel too closed in sleeping up there. I think a couch with a pull out bed would be better

Loft is not great very small and would not be good sleeping up there in warm weather

Merhaba Usui,mutfak ayrı biraz raf eklenebilir, pencereler küçük ama manzara iyi, merdiven çok dik, saklama dolapları yok gibi sanki, üst kat çok dar, tavanı alçak kapalı bir kutu gibi beğenmedim sıkıcı olabilir, bunaltabilir seni, alan geniş aslında ancak kullanışlı değil üst katı kullanmazsan alanın çok daralıyor 😔💗🌺
