A great activity for that age is candy science experiment. Get a tray put some Skittles in a circle and dump water all over the Skittles all the colors from the Skittles all bleed and colors of the Skittles combine and it's a great activity to discuss colors and what colors are mixing together to make another color. It's always a hit at this age.
These are some great idea. I love how hands on they are. I honestly hadn't thought about blindfolding and letting they try and figure out things with that blindfold on.
It’s like a weird stage for the child a point where they still need directions but can do things “on their own”--thanks for the advice I have all these toys and items and will do all these!
I was wondering if anyone else felt this way my little guy is so smart but could still use some direction. His brother is 2 and tends to run the rodeo right now.
So happy to see a mother who grades her child’s risk assessment abilities eg with the knife and scissors and doesn’t stop her from potentially harmful physical activities like jumping off things. All the educational stuff is great too. Reusing household stuff; I gave my boys the inside of cereal packets to paint on a) they’re free b) they’re stiff and don’t shift about c) they don’t buckle if the paint is a bit too wet. The reusable fingernail painting station - Brilliant. Tailor made to your child’s interests. Where was UA-cam 30 years ago when I needed inspiration? It was the library for me! 😁
Thank you so much for making these videos. I got surprised with 2 babies under 2. I never really knew if I wanted to be a mom or not then bam I got two back to back. I’ve lived a very hard life of physical, sexual, and mental abuse/ trauma since I was two years old. So I never knew if I wanted children because of my own issues and I honestly don’t know how to mother children let alone babies. It’s been a huge journey and learning process for me. I just learned that my toddlers issues are coming from screen time. Unfortunately with me not having the just basic information on raising children they have been in front of a screen their whole life. Now it has only been educational things. So my almost 3yr old started reading at 1yr old, can count almost up to 100, knows some Spanish, and just basically knows everything already a kindergarten if not first grader would know, he’s also almost writing. His sister almost 2 speaks a large vocabulary can read some and count already, knows her colors and animals… but I started noticing my children NEVER sleep properly. They are consistently getting up through out the night and have VERY short nap times. Their tantrums are very long and extremely heightened, and they can’t really make eye contact or hold little conversations or communicate with me like other children, and aren’t ready for potty training. I’ve learned this is because of the screen time they get. I feel absolutely terrible. But they are SO young I can reverse this and help them get where they need to be. Videos like this are helping me SO much with coming up with exciting, creative ideas to get my kids off the screen and have fun, interactive playtime that benefits them wholly. It also helps me. With all the trauma I’ve been through it’s been very hard to connect with my children in a way that allows me also to feel comfortable. Between your video and 3 others I already have about 33 ideas I am going to implement. It’ll take about 4-6weeks slowly detoxing my toddlers from the screen, but I know we are all going to enjoy the activities and connection that’s about to come. Thank you so much for making a difference in our lives!! 😭🥰❤️🙌🏻
Thank you for sharing your story! It sounds to me like you really love your kiddos :) I'm so glad to have had an impact on your life. I really hope you enjoy doing these with your littles.
I'm just now starting babysitting, this really helps with todlers! For those who are also in the same boat, stacking small items (not too small because the kids could choke,) is a great idea. Especially when tantrums happen, to calm them down. I tried it when a five year old threw his toy train, as he was cooling down I pulled out cardboard disks for stacking. Thank you!!
I'm so glad to hear that! I agree with the stacking, the size of objects change, but it seems like stacking enjoyment really sticks around no matter the age
Hey Addie!!! Yay I love all your ideas you post!! OMG how cute is the painting the fingernails?! Ohhhh tubes on the wall! Genius! Wow she is so hands on in the kitchen!! I should let my kids do more of that but it tears my nerves up honestly LOL My kids love to play the floor is lava and jump on pillows and blankets too! Great ideas!!
These are all great activities and the best is that you give lots of physical activities because children at that age are super active, I have a little missy as well, almost 5 yo and she is super active and sometimes is a struggle to keep her busy and happy because she needs that physical movements
They are super active at that age! And it helps to keep them busy either with cognitive skills or with physical activities, I am afraid of letting them jumping on the bed but I do let them jump from the sofa to the cushions
First of all, she is so adorable! OMG! And those look like great activities for her age group. She is just so focused and into her activities. Love it! Thanks for sharing
I told you this before but I really love these activities you share with us , with us being stuck in the house these will be so fun to do with my babies well my son at least my daughter is still to small
These are wonderful and easy at home ideas! Thanks so much for these ideas, My daughter just turned 4 on Dec. 3rd, and I've been searching for simple at-home activities! So, you came to the rescue! I think my little would definitely LOVE the reusable cardboard painting board. Thanks Addie! *Precious babies you have btw*

I was excited to hear read the title... Thank u for doing a video like this in such a time we parents and cares and all need it.... You are absolutely amazing
I love these ideas, id love to know what you do with the baby while doing these activities as that's something is struggle with is knowing how to keep them both entertained at the same time xx
Well, for the baby baby sometimes we'll do these things while she is asleep. For the toddler, I'll try to find something I know that will keep her entertained as well. I made a busy book that she really likes (ua-cam.com/video/0lwZIMuTq_M/v-deo.html) so I'll pull that out sometimes. And other times I will try to just include her in the activity but just maybe tailor it in an easier way so that she can participate too. Snack time can also keep her occupied.
Less than 2 minutes in the video and I'm loving these ideas. My 4 year is so curious; he is going to have a ball with these activities! Thanks Addie :)
I feel pity for my son who was admitted in school at the age of 2.8 and now he has very much burden of studies. In our country children are sent to school at very small age n play baesd learning is very rare. I am just going with the flow still not contented that I've loaded my son with studies rather than these activities.
Wow 😳😳😳 these are very excellent work for kids
Thank you for teaching my child how to do these things
Enjoy!!
