Funny thing is that Vikings also stopped raiding, exactly because of knights. Their castles and defenses became so much more elaborate that the costs outweighed the benefits.

Knights came about in the late 10th century and were usually clad in mail and a tabard, not full plate yet. By this point, most Viking raids had ended and the main attacks on various areas were performed by proper, national armies instead of raiding warbands.
I know they didn't look like this, but these guys look badass.

The Viking with the short horn helmet seems to be a very strong and skillful warrior...he also has good upper body strength n power n good reflexers as well...plus his big axe n the way he wields it its just amazing to see...this Viking must be one of their heroes or leaders of the pack

I love this game, there's no other competitive multiplayer fighting game like it. I just started playing 2 months ago and as a martial arts practitioner I get to practice my sparring tactics virtually. Currently I have a rep 3 Kensei with 75% win rate, rep 4 Zhanhu with 65% win rate, rep 3 Tiandi with 50% win rate

So did the Romans the samurai the Greeks the British Spanish and every other civilizations army back then. It doesn't excuse it but if you're going to point fingers at one group for that kind of stuff you have to point fingers at all of them too. Thankfully most of us are better than that now. In fact the Romans uniforms were specifically designed to make that easier.
