I just received mine in the mail yesterday after a long awaited pre order, I was initially concerned about all of the comments about the lens not being adjustable but they are just right for me I have no issues whatsoever, I do wear a light prescription of eye glasses but do not need to wear them with the goggles either
Get mine EV800D 2 days ago. From testing on field I can tell that they are very very very good budget googles. Quite large screen with a good image quality, diversity receiver with Raceband, DVR, any 2S or 3S LiPo battery (or half from 4S :) ) as field backup power. Googles itself are quite comfortable in use. Controls and menu are no brainer. Didn't used manual yet. Newcomers in RC FPV who wish a good cheap googles for longer use, definitely should consider to purchase EV800D. Especially if they wish to record footage of their flying or riding. Aomway Commander are in my wish list. I now can't afford such expensive single purchase only for hobby. But I hope to upgrade to them or V3 Dominator in some day :)
+Blizofoz45 To be fair. I haven't tried the current generation of Fatsharks to compare. But if they want to send a review copy I won't turn them down. :-)
4:42 Head to the dollar store and pick up a set of reading glasses. They should have low profile ones in various magnifications that will easily fit inside the 800D housing.
By the way EV800D still rocks for beginners and in budget end. It have all required features for FPV flying and good picture for peanuts. Comfortable for folks with non-standard faces as well.
you mentioned the desire to order extra external battery cables . it appears by the video the end that plugs into goggles is a standard 3mm center pos and the other end is simply a 3s female balance lead. it seems you could build your own cables at your desired length for pennies on the dollar. for that matter , you could have an XT60 plug and be able to use 2S or 3S batteries with the same cable. The specs say it can handle 20 v max external battery so you could even break out a 4S batt for hours of flying off one battery. This external battery jack actually becomes a great feature . A few other possibilities come to mind, but you get the idea.
when using the external battery does it bypass the interal batt circuit while charging? that would be a nice feature, you could keep the internal at max most of the time and just run off some 3s 2200mAh if that is the case, when those die you have the back up internal which doesn't take any stress while running on the externals. i hope it doesn't trickle off the externals while plugged in.
+Fab Lab FPV I don't know exactly, but given that the charger is 12 volts DC I don't think the goggles know the difference between being on the charger or having an external battery connected. I think you are really just charging the internal battery when connected. Which I think is probably ok. Make it easy to charge them off a 3S on the bench between flights, but then unplug it when you are ready to fly so you don't have to cary the 3S with you.
Since I have yet to find comfortable and easy enough to focus in the same product, trying other peoples, I am taking the plunge on this almost 4 years after your review, if they aren't comfortable I can use them as a monitor on a tripod since they have built in tripod support. Thank you for your review.
Great job on the review. Straight to the point, and fun watching your son crash the quad (we all do it). I just bought these for my brother in law, and I’m excited to see him open his Christmas present next week. Thanks.
the non-adjustable lens is a deal breaker despite all the other nice options. I own the vrd2 goggles and found out immediately that even though they were adjustable, there was not enough adjustment , so I went straight to UA-cam to find a solution and was able to take them apart and move the lens as close to my eyes as room would allow. A small amount of work was involved but are clear and focused now. If there is not enough room to wear glasses with these on, how do they expect to market these goggles when there is no adjustable focus? I just don't understand. Thanks for the review, and despite the crash, your son is on his way to being a fine pilot. Good job Dad!
+Brad Miles I thought the same thing. I ordered both the VR D2 Pros and these at the same time and totally expected the Pros to be my new main goggles. I have the lens pulled back all the way and could use a little more with the Pros. I don't know what kind of voodoo magic they used in the lens in the EV800D but it seems to work for everyone. We had 3 people try it and everyone was totally happy with the lens.
EV800 and EV800D are quite good for both good sight and average myopia (I have -1.5/-2.0) without adjusting. Mine relatives with a good sight have no problems to use them. Seems problems may have only persons with notable sight deviations - they should use another googles.
I have had the VR D2 for nearly a year and a half, and I'm a glasses wearer. 20 minutes with a side-cutter or Dremel and I removed plastic and foam from the left and right side just enough to clear my glasses. Light leakage is small enough I don't notice it, and they are way comfortable, and I can see totally clearly. I plan on doing that to whatever box goggles I buy next...worked great!
Nicely done review ... I had Fatshark D3s that I just sold to a friend because my astigmatism was just too bad to use. I picked up a pair of VR007 goggles because of the price to see if a box goggle would be a solution for me and they work. The VR007 resolution has a lot to be desired so I want something like the EV800D with the much better resolution and DVR. Your review has covered just about every question I had about them and it's deeply appreciated.
I just recieved mine. I am very happy with them. As an intro fpv goggle you can't beat the price for all that you get! The goggles I got have a mini usb port for charging so I'll have to get an adapter or use an extension cord for recharging while flying. I made my choice for these goggles after watching your review and am very pleased. Thanks again.
What a brilliant review, you made everything so clear. I'm brand new to this but after watching this I feel far more informed and going to follow the link. Other reviewers have all spoken as if you have some prior knowledge 😜 Thanks again for the wonderful review I'm off to watch what else you have Jamie
i like that they come apart to be used as a ground station. i have i empty tripod i have been waiting to use. i think i will buy the boscam diversity RX and the eachinedvr pro to upgrade my quanam DIY v2 pro's for now and later this summer i will buy a pair of these as a ground station/ ride along set
My first goggles were the original EV800s, and I really enjoy them still. I did add the DVR from Eachine by soldering it in. These would be ideal for a first pair of goggles since they add diversity and DVR to an already solid goggle, plus they transform to a monitor!
vrd2 if you cut the other foam piece and put it in the nose it 100% fixes the light leak and feels great! best fitting goggle I've ever wore. I now use fatshark attitude v4
Not a problem to adapt a pair of reading glasses to fit inside this goggle. I've bought others that reviewers adamantly say not for glasses users but that's not always true. Easy mod, just cut ear pieces off the right pair and use a little velcro.
I have been looking at different fpv gogles for about a year waiting for the price to come down. After watching your video I decided on these. Being new to fpv, the simplicity and functionalty made it an easy decision. Thank you for taking the time to make a great video showing the function's and ease of use. Happy flying....
The battery cable isn't that proprietary. It's just a balance connector to what looks like a 2.5mm coaxial power connector. You could make one pretty easily.
Like I said, just going from the video, it looks to be a 0.7mm x 2.5mm coaxial power connector. But you'd have to measure it to make sure. The other end doesn't have to be a balance connector either. It can be an XT60 or really anything so long as it was in the right voltage range. I imagine they used a balance connector because it prevents you from using anything but a 3S.
Thanks a lot for the review! it helped me a lot! Just a question: i noticed that there is a black bar in both sides of the display in 16:06, this occur because you was using the camera onboard that drone? if i use a go pro or any action camera (by attaching a proper video transmitter) that will transmit in full screen(able to see the full size of the display)? thank you very much in advance!
Awesome video... question ...for having multi-people and goggles , What is the best way to set every one up with out stomping on my (pilots) channel ??
I have actually been looking at these for a while now on Banggood.com and I have been contemplating on getting the ones you got with the diversity and the dvr or getting the lower down version. How is the lag while you are recording? I have heard mix reviews. Love that you got your son flying with you.
There was absolutely no noticeable lag. With these there isn't a second screen you have to go to so it seems they are able to overlay the info on top of the live feed correctly. I think he did pretty good for his first brushless flight, and proved the 90GT is pretty tough with the new camera mount. I just had to twist it back into focus.
I believe that DVR inside EV800D is connected to receiver in parallel with display module so they are not laggy. In DVR googles with lag DVR usually is connected in middle between receiver and display.
+Aidan Hughes they are very good. Not perfect. If you mixed these and the VR D2 external battery I think they would be. I need to test a little more. But these are probably going to become my main goggles.
I have my EV800D connected to my Fimi A3 RC. When I turn on the goggles it sets on a channel (drone on) . I can see what the drone camera see but the 800D turns off every time after about 12 seconds. What’s going on?
Really great review and a lot of info to go through. I am in my comparison from different goggles and prices to see which is the best bang for the buck. A lot of goggles to choose and this is near the top of the list with ease of use and quality and price point.
Funny I found with my VR headset that it makes no difference if I have my glasses on or not, which is strange as I'm near sighted, my eyes are just damaged from working looking at a screen for 40+ years.
GOOD DISTANCE GOGGLES(IT GETS BETTER WITH VAS 5.8GHZ FOR SURE) THE VIDEO IN, WORKS GREAT WITH 1.3GHZ VRX RIGHT? THATS THE ONLY THING I'M INTERESTING! I'M GLAD IT DOESN'T HAVE HDMI IN.
Since glasses won't fit in there for people who are more severely short sighted, is it possible to remove just the magnifier lens so I can take my glasses off and have the screen appear to be closer?
Most likely an original tiny whoop if this was filmed in 2017. They were just hitting the scene back then, the original was a 65mm ducted prop frame someone made themselves (at the time, indoor toy grade drones didn't have fpv cams.) Technology started producing quality fpv cams that were very small and light. The guy posted videos of him flying inside, and said look at me whoopin' around the house, and the whoop part became a nickname for that build, rumor has it at least. Inductrix was first company to come out with a ready to fly version. Now a days, whoop is actually considered a type of drone in the micro/nano size. They used to be just 65mm , ducted props with brushed motors. Now they make ones like the Moubula 7 and the Eachine Trashcan, that are 75mm, with brushless motors, and run 2s power, that can fly indoor and out. Happy Model makes the two last ones I mentioned and are reasonably priced and have AIO (all in one)hardway, meaning vtx, fc, rx, and cam are built in and ready to fly if you already have a radio. Hope this helps, looking at how long I rambled, I can see the staying at home for so long due to the pandemic crap is clearly made me easily over talkative ..lol.
+Tank 62 no glasses with these. I used to require my goggles let me wear my glasses. But after a few times where my glasses slipped or the frame got in the way I have gone to preferring not wearing glasses.
If this is the same dimensions as my e800 you can buy cheap store bought glasses, remove the ear pieces and they fit inside perfectly as if they were made for it. mine stay in permanently.

I'm having real trouble to put it on my head, they don't feel comfortable at all, somehow they are slipping off at the back of my head, I'm used to the Eachine V007 which are like glued to the face but they don't have all the other good features like diversity, screen resolution, DVR etc.
thanks for your honest opinion you've just made up my mind on the next googles I'm gonna get.these tick all the right boxes esp the monitor with DVR & diversity. which cheapish camera do you think is good?I was thinking Eachines TX03
Do these have a way to adjust the focus?? I did not see any adjustment on the sides to be able to do that.It would be a shame if they do not have that. I am looking to buy either the box type or the goggle type I just can't seem to make up my mind and getting very frustrated! I watched 10 videos get 10 different reviews "Yeah they are great!!" Next guy "No don't wast your money" Grrrr
Goggles are a VERY personal thing. These do not have a way to adjust, but, everyone that has tried them with me has been able to see, no matter what their prescription as long as they are between like 0 and -5 nearsighted.
+RiFF RaFF You got the EV800D to use with those? I don't believe that will work. Those both use a digital uplink to their proprietary ground station. The EV800D will receive an analog 5.8Ghz transmission. I don't believe there is a way to use them together.
Hello, I am confused, these goggles are 16:9 but the DVR comes in a more 4:3 form. So does it shrink the image horizontaly ? I don’t understand if I should stretch the image back to 16:9 in the video editor. Little help?
I use the Quanum Cyclops and they work great and are very easy and fast to get good signal, and have good range. But I really want to be able to record my flights. Coming apart is a big plus, but no adjustable focus is a minus. I guess I can just use a sd card reader to upload to youtube if it doesn`t plug in to computer. So I guess you sold me on these! I will put some amoway antena`s on it thought. Great review! And your son flies great for such a young guy! Thanks!
I used the Cyclops DIY 2 for years. (Don’t remember what I show in the video). In your Cyclops do you have the lens pulled back all the way to your face?
Man, I almost bought those goggles 2 days ago. Just didn't because it was out of stock. 😕 So I bought a 28a stack instead and left it to the next month. But now I'm worried about something: it's just one big screen, right? It's not binocular... And, well, I only see with my right eye. (Actually with the left half of my right eye.) So I don't know if it's going to be good for me. 😕
Hmm, unfortunately I really can’t say. They do have a freznel lens in them, it is fixed but it is in the right place for most people but in this case I don’t know.
My video signal seems to be very weak. When my drone flies away more than 10m, FPV shows already black&white noise and almost invisible. FPV is almost new product. I contacted Eachine's customer service, but of course no answer! If anyone know how to fix, I really appreciate it !!
This is a very useful review for me. I'm currently torn between the HeadPlay se v 2 and these. Love the huge 7" screen but, want diversity, but hate built in battery etc. This one is half the price and nice features. I want to fly my X 21 with them. Have you flown your X 21 with these goggles?? Looks like a Traxis transmitter you handed your boy. What model n can u fly ur X 21 with it? Thanks. Great review. Dan
Good review , I have a question: During search does it auto detect PAL or NTSC video format or do you have to select the format manually??I have the VRD2 Pro upgrade the video format is selected manually which is annoying.....THX
If I bought these, I would use them so that if I lost a drone, I could review the OSD of the recording to determine the GPS position. However, I didn't see in your review that the recorded video also recorded the OSD. I assume it will, but wanted to be sure. Do you know?
The OSD is the On Screen Display. It's the information the flight controller is putting on the the screen that shows you your battery voltage, flight time ETC.
I'm think about getting those, the vr d2 have finally dissapointed me, they were working nicely sicne a couple of days where the screen just freezes and goes white. So freaking terrifying...
DroneRacer101 Thank you, that was quick. This is the cam www.tinywhoop.com/products/fx-900tw-mullet-modded-ultralight-camera-vtx-and-antenna?variant=29063329665
i have a problem with these. it was working perfectly fine for about 5 flights and i just fully charged it but when i power it on it has trouble picking up the feed and the screen glitches as if im on the wrong channel. i did not mess with the vtx and it is fully charged . i dont know what the problem is please help!! if you want i can record what is going on for you if you cant help
after scouring the net this set really seems like the best deal despite its lack of focus options. for my purposes I'm going to use it as a recording ground station/ride along set on a tripod. and continue to use my quantum DIYs to get a clear non latent video feed, just placed my order today i'm excited. Droneracer101 did you notice if the goggles format the sd card or will it need to be done on a computer? thanks again
My friend I have been using the sd card u recommended for a while but do you know are have u tried a 64gb card? Don't see any reason why it would not but just wondering if u might know for sure.
You must have a built-in microphone in camera or in VTX. Or if your VTX have separate audio input, use small external microphone like this one. www.banggood.com/3Pcs-High-Sensitive-Audio-Tiny-Microphone-for-CCTV-Security-Camera-p-969680.html
+AMA The scanner is much better in the Pro, it locks in on the best channel. And the spectrum analyzer has come in handy multiple times. I do still think it's more comfortable with the battery on the back too.
Hey man, just got rid of my VR D2's (non Pros) after they been basically Unflyable. did side by side test and VR006's beat them hands down, maybe I got a bad one (not a issue with Latency and did the firmware) Would you rate these as a upgrade ?
+Not_ Sean I'm reserving judgement for a little more testing, but if you had a bad pair of VR D2s for sure these are an upgrade. If you had a good set you were happy with I probably wouldn't spend the money to switch. But in your case I would expect you to like these a lot better.
You probably had a bad piece of VR D2. They have same image quality as EV800 have. I personally don't like bulky VR D2 - EV800 are lighter. VR006 are not worth the game if you're wish to use them for long time. 3 inch screen and no real diversity - sorry, this is not serious. I have concern about 500x300 resolution - have a feeling that they use stretched or cropped image which is bad for FPV in both occasions. My personal recommendation: if you can't afford at least FatShark V2 Dominator or Aomway Commander then go for VR D2 Pro or EV800D. You will not regret that.
Thanks @KrotowX & @DroneRacer101 I know quality wise they similar the issue was more so with reception, the VR's where just dropping all over the place where the much worse 006's were still going. Got my order in today for the EV800D
Cheap low resolution FPV googles still live in market because of poor customers (nothing to shame, guys from end of world want to fly too) or as birthday gift for kids. But if you can afford better FPV googles, do it without thinking.
Any clue what is the difference between the regular EV800 and the EV800D? just one has dual antenna other has one any difference in the DVR or does the EV800 not have dvr? I swear there to many of the same.. I have some VRD2 now first batch and i dont think they pick up well but maybe there better then i think
Nice review ! I have a few questions hope you can answer them. What is the maximum range that I can use it with my drone (I have got an MJX Bugs 3 with C5820 Camera) ? What is "Diversity" ? Which is better EV800D or VR D2 ? Does the EV800D uses two anntenas at the same time like the VR D2 ? Or only one at a time ? Which is better to use if it uses only one at a time ? Thanks for the help
+MrUriel250 the EV800D are better than the VR D2 in almost every way, except two. The VR D2 are more comfortable with the battery weight on the back. And the channel scanner is better in the VR D2. It will lock onto the best channel every time. I wish they would make a handheld scanner version of the VR D2. But the EV800D are the goggles I use almost 100% of the time at the moment.
DroneRacer101 Thanks for the quick answer. Which anntena is better to use on the EV800D ? Or it uses both at the same time ? I am going to pay the 20$ differnce for the EV800D because I liked so much the deattachable screen. And what is diversity ?
+MrUriel250 It's going to vary with a LOT of factors. Antenna (both here and on the VTX, VTX output, VTX quality, interference...) But I can say I've had a 250 drone with a 200mw VTX out to 500 meters. I haven't tried to go past that.
+MrUriel250 It don't use both at the same time, but the goggles will actively watch the signal strength on each of the internal receivers and show you the display with the best video. That is diversity, if you choose that option. You can also just tell it to use one or the other. But I always use mine with diversity enabled.
Lol, your kid is still better than some of my friends 😂
I just received mine in the mail yesterday after a long awaited pre order, I was initially concerned about all of the comments about the lens not being adjustable but they are just right for me I have no issues whatsoever, I do wear a light prescription of eye glasses but do not need to wear them with the goggles either
Graham Woods what prescription do you have?

No offense to the Fatshark crowd but I'm alot more impressed with Eachine's FPV offerings right now. The price is right and the quality is there.

Just got mine yesterday. Love them.
If you want to use these with a computer you need a active hdmi converter. I got one off amazon for like 20$. It’s worth it.
+Skylatian It’s been a while. I was thinking that was just an audio out.
By the way EV800D still rocks for beginners and in budget end. It have all required features for FPV flying and good picture for peanuts. Comfortable for folks with non-standard faces as well.
i bought these too, i have the EV800 normal ones currently and i hope to drastically improve the Range with the Diversity and a good panel Antenna

Most detailed review
I was looking at those, they look amazing!!
+Aidan Hughes they are very good. Not perfect. If you mixed these and the VR D2 external battery I think they would be. I need to test a little more. But these are probably going to become my main goggles.
Ordered mine Friday. Good review. Thumbs up.
Huh? Why does Eachine say the 2 VTX antennas included are RP-SMA?
I have my EV800D connected to my Fimi A3 RC. When I turn on the goggles it sets on a channel (drone on) . I can see what the drone camera see but the 800D turns off every time after about 12 seconds. What’s going on?
i'm guessing not too hard to take the internal battery out and tape it to the back for the head strap?
Great vid I love box and I'll DEFINITELY be looking into these!
the ev800 is better on the eyes and is more comfortable. dr d2 pro screen is slightly too close to the eyes. but seperate battery is good
whats the mah of the ev800 pro battery? same 2000mah 1s?
+Jan Domingo Internally it is a 2S 120mAh
That's 1200mAh 2S, not 120, which would be smaller than your pinky.
Thanks for the video and review etc.. these are looking like a good entry level FPV google and have DVR as well etc.... Thanks Lauirie
They are still my first choice for first goggles.
Does anyone know what the tiny drone in the house was? That was incredible
Thy look pretty good, but do you know can I where glasses with them?
I'm not sure if i got mine on the wrong channel but mine seen like it's only black and white
thanks for your honest opinion you've just made up my mind on the next googles I'm gonna get.these tick all the right boxes esp the monitor with DVR & diversity. which cheapish camera do you think is good?I was thinking Eachines TX03
Yes it is Thank You for the reply- I will just have to pick and try one & go from there
does the googles antenas emits any radiation, or just receiving signal from camera?
Love these goggles, just a quick question: what are your settings? brightness/contrast/sharpness? please help
I can't get mine to find either my DJI Phantom 4, or my Yuneec Typhoon H. Did I get a bad set, or is there something I'm missing?
+RiFF RaFF You got the EV800D to use with those? I don't believe that will work. Those both use a digital uplink to their proprietary ground station. The EV800D will receive an analog 5.8Ghz transmission. I don't believe there is a way to use them together.
DroneRacer101 Thanks for the response. Hmmmmm. Time to get a 5.8 ghz camera to mount on them.
@@SimRacer101 will this work with a megabee cinewhoop with a caddz ratel cam?
In your Cyclops do you have the lens pulled back all the way to your face?
yeah I got the lens all the way back.
Yep, nearly everyone does. So basically that is where the fixed lens for the ev800d is.
what is the range on these? Because I just got these and if my quad gets behind me at all I lose signal fast.
Nice review! Just got these and I see no way to format the SD card within these goggles? Perhaps I’m missing something?
Man, I almost bought those goggles 2 days ago. Just didn't because it was out of stock. 😕 So I bought a 28a stack instead and left it to the next month. But now I'm worried about something: it's just one big screen, right? It's not binocular... And, well, I only see with my right eye. (Actually with the left half of my right eye.) So I don't know if it's going to be good for me. 😕
Hmm, unfortunately I really can’t say. They do have a freznel lens in them, it is fixed but it is in the right place for most people but in this case I don’t know.
Hi , very good vídeo
One curiosity, whats is the name of the mini quad in the video ?
My video signal seems to be very weak. When my drone flies away more than 10m, FPV shows already black&white noise and almost invisible. FPV is almost new product. I contacted Eachine's customer service, but of course no answer! If anyone know how to fix, I really appreciate it !!
what size is a standard fpv flight (3-4min)? how big should your sd card be?
This is a very useful review for me. I'm currently torn between the HeadPlay se v 2 and these. Love the huge 7" screen but, want diversity, but hate built in battery etc. This one is half the price and nice features. I want to fly my X 21 with them. Have you flown your X 21 with these goggles?? Looks like a Traxis transmitter you handed your boy. What model n can u fly ur X 21 with it? Thanks. Great review. Dan
Would you know how fast the diversity switches between the two receivers? Is it noticable?
Anyone who is looking for a Focus adapter there is an extender available.
Eachine Spacer Extender 30mm-50mm Focus Fix 4 Ev800-ev800d Fpv Goggles
Good review , I have a question: During search does it auto detect PAL or NTSC video format or do you have to select the format manually??I have the VRD2 Pro upgrade the video format is selected manually which is annoying.....THX
+Nari Lota That is a great question, I don't know, but yea, really annoying on the VR D2 Pro
It have video format autodetection. You even wouldn't notice the change :)
Thank you for replying....EV800D looks to be a better spec and more user friendly.
EV800D or VR D2 Pro, which one is better? I've heard that vr d2 pro has poor range even having diversity
The EV800D hands down. The VR D2 Pro has a better channel scanner, but everything else is better on the EV800D.
If I bought these, I would use them so that if I lost a drone, I could review the OSD of the recording to determine the GPS position. However, I didn't see in your review that the recorded video also recorded the OSD. I assume it will, but wanted to be sure. Do you know?
It will record whatever you see, so if you have an OSD setup on your model you will see it in the recording.
DroneRacer101 what is osd?
The OSD is the On Screen Display. It's the information the flight controller is putting on the the screen that shows you your battery voltage, flight time ETC.
DroneRacer101
Ooh okay im used to the term HUD deads up display
Btw was the camera HD and are the goggles HD too?
I'm think about getting those, the vr d2 have finally dissapointed me, they were working nicely sicne a couple of days where the screen just freezes and goes white.
So freaking terrifying...
While in the air? Yea. That would be really bad.
I want to buy a tiny whoop and use these goggles. Do I have to get LEft hand polarized vtx, rught hand, or dipole? Thanks
These will work great with a dipole or a Right hand Polarized antenna which is 99% of what you are going to find out there.
DroneRacer101 Thank you, that was quick. This is the cam www.tinywhoop.com/products/fx-900tw-mullet-modded-ultralight-camera-vtx-and-antenna?variant=29063329665
Ah, just don’t choose left hand. Right hand would be better, but the dipole would work fine.
i have a problem with these. it was working perfectly fine for about 5 flights and i just fully charged it but when i power it on it has trouble picking up the feed and the screen glitches as if im on the wrong channel. i did not mess with the vtx and it is fully charged . i dont know what the problem is please help!!
if you want i can record what is going on for you if you cant help
after scouring the net this set really seems like the best deal despite its lack of focus options. for my purposes I'm going to use it as a recording ground station/ride along set on a tripod. and continue to use my quantum DIYs to get a clear non latent video feed, just placed my order today i'm excited. Droneracer101 did you notice if the goggles format the sd card or will it need to be done on a computer? thanks again
+Fab Lab FPV I didn't format any of my cards. Just opened them up and installed them.
+Fab Lab FPV this is the card I am using. geni.us/SanDiskExtreme3GB
Same here, when I eventually upgrade from my EV800s I'm going to keep them as a DVR station. The tripod mount option is pretty cool in my opinion.
DroneRacer101 Would you reccomend antenna upgrades?
My friend I have been using the sd card u recommended for a while but do you know are have u tried a 64gb card? Don't see any reason why it would not but just wondering if u might know for sure.
I haven’t tried one. I never come close to filling the ones I use so I haven’t needed to.
For your range test, which transmitter did you use? how many mw? And your camera is 4:3?
+Wilbert Esker that is a KingKong 90GT ua-cam.com/video/wvH2g14ujxE/v-deo.html it has a 25mw VTX with a linear antenna.
what would be a good upgrade in terms of antennas for this goggle?
Forget all these cheap googles; what is the best, so I can crash in style😂😂😂😂😂
Anyone know how to find best channels (diversity) to connect to?
What's the quad you're flying in the video?
Can you set up the display to show battery voltage and flight time?
That would be setup on the drone video broadcast (betaflight)
Do you think a good first fpv racer is a 90gt or a fly egg 100
Was your quad stock for this? Thanks
Nice review... I'll get'em :) Btw. What cam are you using on the whoop.
Rodher R.
That is the camera that come with the E010S bit.ly/E010S It's really pretty spectacular.
wowww.. wowww.. that is the fastest reply I ever had.. Thank you my friend for the info and of course you got a new subscriber :) Have a great week!
Do you think these goggles will work with the hero 11 mini.
How to record audio Mr. Great review 👍!
You must have a built-in microphone in camera or in VTX. Or if your VTX have separate audio input, use small external microphone like this one.
www.banggood.com/3Pcs-High-Sensitive-Audio-Tiny-Microphone-for-CCTV-Security-Camera-p-969680.html
have you used these and the VRD2 pros enough to decide on which is better? I am trying to decide between the two.
+AMA there are total pros and cons to each. But right now these are the ones I use most of the time.
DroneRacer101 apart from the movable lens do you like anything else of the vrd2 pro?
+AMA The scanner is much better in the Pro, it locks in on the best channel. And the spectrum analyzer has come in handy multiple times. I do still think it's more comfortable with the battery on the back too.
DroneRacer101 cool, and as far as image quality goes I am guessing they are neck and neck?
+AMA pretty darn close.
I have to use a +1.25 lens to read, will I be able to use these?
How do I separate goggles?
Awesome, I'm still using cyclops.. But I want dvr... They cyclops are solid and simple but... No dvr
sorry for the noob question, but what were you flying indoors?
+John Cooper no worries. That is the Eachine e010S. Still my favorite indoor flier. ua-cam.com/video/GRCKe6F5fP8/v-deo.html
which model is more suitable for wearing glasses?
Does the LCD bluescreen?
Hey man, just got rid of my VR D2's (non Pros) after they been basically Unflyable. did side by side test and VR006's beat them hands down, maybe I got a bad one (not a issue with Latency and did the firmware)
Would you rate these as a upgrade ?
Thanks @KrotowX & @DroneRacer101
I know quality wise they similar the issue was more so with reception, the VR's where just dropping all over the place where the much worse 006's were still going.
I have some VRD2 now first batch and i dont think they pick up well but maybe there better then i think
epoweredrc I
Do you think I should get these or the ev100s
Loved the crash. Does the drone still work?
What indoor quad were you flying?
You need to scan channel a and b seperately first and then diversity works.
DroneRacer101 And what is the maximum range that it can reach in meters till it loses signal ? do you know ?
+MrUriel250 It's going to vary with a LOT of factors. Antenna (both here and on the VTX, VTX output, VTX quality, interference...) But I can say I've had a 250 drone with a 200mw VTX out to 500 meters. I haven't tried to go past that.
+MrUriel250 It don't use both at the same time, but the goggles will actively watch the signal strength on each of the internal receivers and show you the display with the best video. That is diversity, if you choose that option. You can also just tell it to use one or the other. But I always use mine with diversity enabled.
Do you know or can you check if it records at 30fps?
I just bought a pair of these goggles. It doesnt say diversity on mine though? any clue/
Press SRC button few times. It will switch google input modes - one of them is diversity.
What is a good camera for these goggles
I'm between these and the ev800d for my first set of goggles? thoughts? @droneracer101
wait i meant these and the ev100's lol
+TopDogX64 the EV800d are better goggles. If you are ok with box goggles. I like them a lot. But the ev100s are more comfortable and a lot lighter.
Wonder if these are better than the V2 which burned in about a month
+goofyfoot2001 full side by side comparison coming soon.
