Inspired by the Past of Zero cutscene in Megaman X4! I thought pre-Maverick Sigma vs. Maverick Zero would make for a great sprite animation fight. Hope you enjoy!
This is a little more in line with how I would've expected the fight in the original cutscene to play out. It was still impressively animated for the time and seeing full on anime cinematics in one of the X games is something I really wish they had stuck with from X5 onward. But the original fight scene between Zero and Sigma felt underwhelming, with Zero resorting to simply throwing punches and eventually using a steel pipe to counter Sigma's beam saber..? Because that made sense right? A blade of fully plasmatic energy having difficulty cutting through a simple metal pipe always felt lazy to me. At least here you had Zero using his Z-Buster and Sigma doing a little more to showcase his skills/abilities as the literal commander of the Maverick Hunters so the fight felt more engaging.
What is that stage background u use bc it's always empty and has nothing in it and is perfect for battle I would like to try to make my own sprites as well so pls tell me what stage background u used
This just diminishes Zeros power. Zero managed to almost kill sigma with nothing but his bare hands and a piece of rebar. Zero never fired a shot, and that was the point. Thats how dangerous and powerful zero was. He didn't need weapons....just his hands.
Zero original weapon was his Z buster, his old form wasn’t have Z saber until X2. After he got fixed and programmed, he decided to improve his sword skill Aaaaaand, Zero with Bare hand did fucked Sigma so hard even though Sigma using his light saber against Zero
This is nice but I remembered that Sigma got fucked up very hard by Zero

I took creative liberties with this one

i think this sprite animation is good but you should remake this soon without dragonball style of fighting
