All the stars Kendrick verse is a sneak diss at Drake. Drake congratulated Kendrick for winning a Grammy and Kendrick said “I dont need you’re congratulation mf I don’t even like you”
so digusting, an album about empowerment and he's doing some sneak diss, keep that to his own tracks
I mean if you achieved something and a fake achiever said congratulations I think its pretty empowering to not let their success undermine yours by saying you don't need it from the fake achiever.
In hindsight, we should have take that line more seriously. The hate is on a different level.

Kendrick wrote a lot of this album outside of himself, there’s a lot of reference tracks floating about. He wrote all the stars hook, The Ways, Bloodywaters, kings dead, paramedic etc
The irony and timing of Jorja Smith being on this album and having dated Drake when he was 30 and she was 19🫢

As far as movie soundtracks go this album is a classic. And repopularised movies launching with soundtracks from high profile artists again, especially in hip hop.

One of the best TDE projects. Btw i consider this to be the best hip hop soundtrack since Death Row had put out Above the Rim. There haven't been that many scored by a record label or group. But it's just interesting to me that Death Row had Pac on that soundtrack and TDE had Kendrick on this record. The two greatest rap labels to come out of California.

Most of his lyrics on this song are delivered in isiZulu -- one of our most spoken native languages here. if you wanna try out Yugen Blakrok, i definitely recommend her album 'Return of the Astro - Goth', give 'Madusa Complex' and 'House of Ravens' a listen. i have a few of her songs in my hip-hop playlist. she even got invited by the gaming company CD Projekt Red to make a song for Cyberpunk 2077, which you can hear in-game, on the radio.
