Great stuff! Only time I saw Santers was at Massey Hall, opening for Ratt on their 'Out of the Cellar' tour; so likely '84. I remember Santers blew them away. This reaffirms it for me \m/
Yes I would indeed agree, I saw RAT several times and these guys would definitely destroy them. Way more talent!! It's no wonder "Triumph" added Rick Santers on second guitar & vocals 🔊🎶🎸!!
@Whitevaliantwarrior and if it wasn't for Rik producing guitar alley, I never would of heard of them. That's a horrible thought. These guys are phenomenal.
Thanks!!! I remember this show on television back then, pretty sure I have it on a VHS tape with a bunch of other stuff, including an interview of Rick with host Jeannie Becker of Much Music. He mentions info on the Ozzy show they opened up for in Oct. 1982 . Thanks again!
hi k , yeah, i seen Ozzy in Montreal and it was Santers in '82 ( tour with Brad Gillis on guitar) Rick made his hot guitar solo that night, if you ever find one day your VHS of this mini show of the band and have better quality, i will be happy to have/see it....
@@prickrick Hey Richard, I'll check and see. I also saw them with Ozzy in '82! This band was awesome and one of my favorites! I saw them many times in the '80's (at The Rondun, Nags Head North, Queensburry Arms, Queen Elizabeth Building CNE) Have some pictures too at Rondun. And live cassette recording from El Moccambo and Queensbury Arms broadcasted by radio station CHUM FM 104.5, Thanks again!!!
@@stingkirk....have the Queensbury arms broadcast and another at Rock n' roll heaven i think, but don't have El mocambo, if you find this one, i'll be interested too....i have the 4 firsts albums of the band on LP ....
@@stingkirk ....i have an audio ( boot) in St albans in UK, may 21st 1983 ( good sound for an audience) and they made 7 songs of the Racing time CD ....
i seen them opening for O.Osbourne at Montreal forum in '82 and also at ethe Spectrum in '83 , love them , very tight band, the 3 guys are hot musicians....the drummer have a great sound ( i 'm a drummer myself....)
@@prickrick I just looked at my Ozzy ticket stub from that year...I was there and didn't even know Santers until the Guitar Alley record with Rik Emmett producing. I must have a lot of (second-hand) hash smoke to not remember them. Now I like them better then Ozzy !. thanks for making me look back.
Thanks for posting, I only taped the last 2 songs back in the day on Betamax. Rick Lazaroff is just a monster on the bass playing live. stacks up to the best of them. He must have really let Rick Santers let go too. ( who seems to play both rhythm and lead at the same time. love this band
Amazing band - phenomenal musicianship. I hope this show will surface on DVD one of these days. Far too good to be locked away in some vault.
Super groupe canadien injustement méconnu.
Leur album Guitar Alley est pour moi le meilleur, varié et très mélodique
Mistreating Heart...wow, what an awesome song, one of the best of it's type.
Really liked this band, and still listen to them....I wish the EP Mayday would be released in digital format.
