That's so nuts, I saw him open for Tenacious D in Brighton, UK and he was telling bad jokes about the late Princess Diana. He got booed so bad and he had to be taken off stage after everyone started lobbing coins at him
I saw him open for The D in Portland Oregon. It was fantastic theater, there's something enlightening about how he reveals the audience to themselves. No, the Pink Floyd joke didn't land well there either. He's so kind and brave to entertain the few that don't dress like slobs in his audiences. ❤

I saw Neil Hamburger at All Tomorrows Parties in Minehead UK. I think Mike Patton curated the festival. I have never seen in my entire life in the UK a man pull out as many pints of lager our of their coat as this man did ... I counted 7. I was amazed and baffled and that is coming from a man living in a country where people regularly drink like they don't want to live anymore.
My roommate, a record collector, showed me a bunch of found comedy records including Hamburger's first 45rpm records...it was very unusual. We all know that Greg is a performance artist, right?

I saw him perform Middle East Upstairs maybe 2008. After the show I introduced myself, then he replied “Hey, man, I’m Gregg!” I had no idea it was act at all, and had been listening to his records since ‘96. He loved that I was fooled for 12 years lmao
