Great to see these British built amplifiers. I’m a Sugden owner so I’m biased but I do own an Exposure XM phono stage. One thing about Sugden is you have a choice of colours, I do like the colour of the A21 in the video.

That was really very interesting as my next upgrade will be an amplifier. There’s something special about both Exposure and Sugden with a long tradition of providing leading class products. Thanks for showing both these amplifiers and going into such detail.

Interesting review and seems honest in opinion. I notice a slight 'dig' at the modern sounds of other 'brand' amps and showed a certain stubborn attitude as to what an amp should contain (or not contain). I liked that a reviewer showed a bit of opinion which was not the usual safe opinions of other reviewers who are scared to frighten off viewers or people in the HiFi business. Well done...!

I'm using a MVL A2+ Integral amplifier I bought new years ago , mainly for all the inputs,it had the SS sound sentinel built in .I just love it , I can connect 2cds a Quad 67 and a Roksan Caspian M2 ,a Philips DCC cassette,a Nakamichi Bx 300E,A Linn Sondek Ittok Audio Tecnica 0c9 through a Musical Fidelity XLps V3 into the line input, also a Zen Blue Bluetooth streamer into the dab input ,and a Mini disc into the sat input.did you ever see or hear one of these amps ?I think it's wonderful, everything sounds fantastic to me ,A shame the company went bust

Thanks mate, very useful video. Would A21s sound signature be present in it's pre-out as well. I'm not sure if it is the pre or power section that gives that tube like feel you talk about.

I have always loved the look of the Sugden Masterclass series but couldn’t afford it at the time, so bought a customised by Exposure Super XV which like you I agree runs the Sugden pretty close but just lacks the warmth. May have to give you a call for a Sugden/Exposure or Rega amp demo as you seem to have the exact same taste in sound quality as me! PS. Any valve amps In the shop?

There is no definitive answer... all amplifiers are capable of blowing speakers .... best way to tell is if you are starting to hear distortion as you turn it up, then you have gone too far... this could be at 1/2 volume with CD as it has quite a high output

Class A/B works only in class A for the fist two-three watts anyway. Either of these made in UK?
Also ea doubling of watts ads yes only 3db however we perceive that added dB as double the volume eg 96db will sound twice as loud as 93db at 1 meter. This again changes each meter further at the same value but minus so 96@ 1w/1m becomes 93@ 1w/2m and so forth.
