Went to Fort William back in 1995-96 and stayed in a guest house opposite Loch Linnhe...for a few days and had a lovely time....loved the town centre but no Wetherspoons then...but very nice...also got a train trip and enjoyed that very much....long time ago now....love Scotland...thanks for sharing....xx
Used to go to Fort William regular in the 80s. Frequented the Volunteer Arms regularly before running up the square to Ladbrokes at the top next to the car park.
Stayed in that corner building (with the board 'Regatta') for a couple of days. It was match night, that bar was filled with people. Scotland won the match and people were dancing late night with loud music on the street. It was a pleasant stay.
Fort William is so beautiful town centre and you have everything you need there, Nevis bakery is YUM 😜, my son had so much of scotch pie from there he use to ask the bakery lady " can I have a scotch pie without cracks?" lol... he is only 8 bless him... I really loved my stay there❤️ I miss you Scotland I can t wait to go back 😍
The setting/location for Fort William is absolutely stunning, however the town itself is underwhelming. As you approach Fort William along the banks of Loch Linnhe with the houses on your rhs you think wow, this is something special. But then you reach the town centre which is dark, drab and run down. If you compare it to Fort Augustus or Oban or Inveraray well, you just can't. Considering the amount of money which the area attracts, the town centre is a disgrace!
Next year im driving from Cork City To Dublin Port and Catch the Ferry over to holyhead and stay the night and start my journey from Holyhead to Glasgow and stay the night and then drive from Glasgow to Fort William and Stay the night and next Morning Climb Ben Nevis and Stay one more night and a Full 4am drive from Fort William To Holyhead to Catch the Ferry Back home....Do you Think its doable????????
Hi Willy, I remember some great holidays I had in Scotland, the temperature in summer is much more comfortable than in the South. Were you troubled by midges at all during your trip?
That's a tough one. We saw quite a few up around Gairloch Sands Campsite in Wester Ross, but I have no idea how you would get there without a car. Sorry.
You guys train battery power is out too ? Yes I could fix it without opening it. I wonder .. tv technician dj konata lewis klm jean street arima trinidad
Thanks for the tour. I know what to expect now when I go there in 2023.
Yes a place with no soul. No wonder the locals are leaving in their droves
