Scary spin recovery. Try pushing the nose over and provide opposite rudder. At least that what they taught me when I was learning to fly. Should work like a charm!
Hi. Great show, sad ending. April 21st...very authentic. It was the day Manfred Ricthofen died...though historians now seem to lean towards it being Australian ground machine gun crews that brought him down and not Brown. Anyway, the sim stayed historically correct and the Red Baron bought it. Would be great to see a new WWI air series, Taff. Cheers.
Good content that also raises my appreciation for the combat aviators of this era. It seems these early versions of their own aircraft could give the pilot an additional set of problems they would need to stay on top of - in addition to fighting their enemy.
I found you through your Napolean Total War series which I have thoroughly enjoyed and now brought this game as well after watching your video, keep up the good work.
"Alles kaput." I love Rise of Flight, but the damage model in Flying Circus looks interesting... I'm just getting into the IL-2 series, unfortunately there is no career mode in FC.
When flying the Sopwith Camel, apply a touch of left rudder when banking right. The Camel will turn on a dime, better than any other aircraft and this is its best feature. Use this to your advantage.
The Devs ARE currently working on the pilot career’s mechanics for Flying Circus Vol. 2 but unfortunately I don’t know exactly how long it will take so all we can do is wait with baited breath
@@mgpreacher7773 Was just watching an 1C Video Briefing where they mentioned the timing for the pilot careers in FC2...seems to be aimed at dropping for February 2023. Hope so. Cheers.
The WWI dogfights is where VR really pays off. I prefer VR in combat flight sims anyway, I just have far more spatial awareness overall, plus it's far easier to sight in your shots. But in the WWI kites, it's so much easier when you're trying to see around all the crap in your field of view. Of course, the downside is having the damn thing strapped to your head, and it's a bit of a neck workout after a couple of hours of twisting all over to see. Lol. But it is incredibly immersive. Which is good, because I find most VR games in general to be kind of dumb. Though it is also a lot of fun in racing sims as well. But I do have a half-assed sim cockpit set up in my bedroom. And one of these days I'll get around to printing up some of the stuff Authentikit has on their site for that little extra bit of realism. Especially when they are able to finish up the Mustang and Mosquito rigs. Hoping someone has the interest over there to do a German rig as well at some point.
Hey, I didn't know you fly IL-2. I don't do much WW1 usually, but I'm online almost every night for WW2 stuff on the Combat Box server. I would be honored to fly with you some time, if you want?
When you said, there's no way to bail out anyway, I'm reminded of a 'newer' WW1 historical novel called 'Hornet Squadron' (By Derek Robeson, the same author who wrote the WW2 historical aviation novel, 'A Piece of Cake"). The salty and cynical squadron leader mocked his less experienced pilots for carrying revolvers so they can shoot themselves so they don't burn to death. As he put it, the only REAL vital spot on a WW1 era plane WAS the pilot and you're probably going to be shot dead before you get set on fire, anyway.
Yessss more il2 wwi content! Maybe you could create a campaign for yourself involving some of the other wwi planes in the game. I've seen the spring offensive and Kaiserslaut campaign or however you spell it. It's a doozy
Sorry you didn't make it old boy, damn good show all the same, pip pip! I wonder if the British pilots of WW1 had been issued with parachutes, how many lives would have been saved and how more effective the Royal Flying Corps/RAF would have been as a result of the survival of experienced pilots? My (admittedly sketchy) understanding is that the high command (who probably had impressive mustaches?) deemed it 'impractical' to give a man a very expensive machine and also give him the means to 'flunk out' at the first sign of danger? Forward thinking right there. Am I mis-informed? The Germans had parachutes for sure. Appreciate any feedback (unless it's derogatory). Pax dudes.
I watched this video right after I got shot down in my own Sopwith Camel in game, also ripped my wings off after I got shot and plummeted to the ground... happy days :D
Congrats on shooting down the second highest Ace of WWI, Ernst Udet
I'm guessing thats who was in that black and white stripped triplane?
Yes with the LO painted on the side
Ah, thank you. Not very familiar with first world War aces
Shows just how bad the AI is. They just keep turning even if they are losing angles. Whats gonna happen?
They should add some magic to the AI greats. Just to make it more perilous if they show up

Glad to see you back in the Great War.
i love how the pilot bails like 100ft from the ground for the epic face plant.

Flying Circus in VR is the most fun I’ve ever had in a flight sim.
Happy to see you back in the Great War. You killed 425/17 and Lo!,

Could you try another rise of flight series perhaps?
Nice to see you back over the trenches Taff. I'd love to see more WW1 IL-2
hope to see another career soon 😀
I have always been fascinated by the Gloster Gladiator; especially how it got on in Crete and North Africa.
Another great video Taff.

Hope the rest of the flight's doing well...
*cuts to the rest of the flight most assuredly NOT doing well*
Great mission, wasn't expecting the end! Wish they'd add a campaign mode

Excellent JUMP!!!

Good show for being a bit rusty, Taff. The Camel was one of my fav WW1 aircraft, that and the SE 5A.

I think your aim and shooting has improved.

May? Brown? I predict a red Fokker Dr.1 in you future!

Great mission
good effort pal.
Exciting
Oh, dear! 😅🏴
I've either missed episodes....or you ain't done one of these for ages
Angry Box-kites
So, not the start of a new career, then?
Beware the hun in the Sun…
I wonder who that was in the red D-1? Could that have been Von Richthofen? Dearie me, Taff, you beat Roy Brown to his most famous WW1 kill!!!! 😮
It's FOKKER D R 1
Taff always loved your il2 content but don't you think the ww1 air combat is just abit slow? A ww2 campaign would be much better
So sad....I cried...
