- One of the world's most famous Christian icons
The Christ Pantocrator icon from Sinai mountain is the oldest known image of Jesus Christ in existence. The image describes the two natures of Christ: Humanity and Divinity. We believe that the icon has been painted in 550. The icon has been at St. Catherine's Monastery in Egypt for over nearly 1500 years.

This is the most beautiful representation of Christ that I have ever seen.

I have this icon on a shelf above my sink in the kitchen right at eye level. He looks right at me as I make my coffee every morning. I love it. “We are here brother” is how I greet Him every day.

Beautiful. But why is he dressed in brownish colors?? Suppose to be Blue and Red by Byzantine Canons. And original icon from Mount Sinay is dark blue and purple.
your worrying about the color of his cloths, but yet you dismiss the color of his skin lol, no pun intended just curious to see other christian icons besides the Jesus that was described in the Bible. Bu this is NOT the Jesus of the bible, so i think if he had on a pink robe it would be cute too lol.

I heard from someone who called the Sinai Icon creepy and an Idol, yet he stated that it's stated to have been a copy of many other copies dating back to Christ.
Yet with the Shroud of Turin compared to the Pantocrator Icon, it's actually Stunning how accurately it matches.
Yeah, it just instinctively looks like Jesus.

That is what Jesus looks like although not quite but almost. You need to draw longer eye lashes and his eye color is like a torch flame fire and his hair is a beautiful curly and wavy with the same color his eyes are. I saw Jesus. True story. This is from my heart. I want to find someone who can paint like you. So, if this was painted in 550, how did they get it so accurate like that....I wonder who did this original painting.

I believe you but icons are done very technically and aren't supposed to look perfectly human, it emphasises features for their divine purpose like larger eyes to see better and larger foreheads to symbolize wisdom. Also the noses are narrow to desensualize them or basically make them look less attractive. But no doubt Jesus Christ is now a beautifully transfigured, Kingly mangod.
The skin tone is a little... off. lol
