I bought and own the red one sittin next to that one on the show room floor. Absolutely love it, but it’s only my first bike, but I’m going on 4 years and no issues yet.
Both are absolutely amazing bikes (this coming from a KTM 1290 owner) that are an absolute blast on a B-road, but I prefer the XSR. It has a more finished appearance, and since I'd use it as a street bike I'd want it to be "polished". For lunacy purposes I'd buy the cheapest MT07 I could find and sort it for track use, which would turn it into a canyon weapon. I've ridden an MT09 that had proper brakes and suspension bolted to it and it was as good in the twisties as my XR650R SM, and that's no small praise. I'm certain the MT07 would be just as good, and because it's less manic likely easier to ride.
The throttle needs a simple adjustment. My FZ-07 was the same. Take out the factory play and you’re good. BTW, the 2020 color for the XSR700 is by far the best. I might buy it.
I rode for a few years, but it’s been a few years- looking to get a new bike soon and I’m deciding between this or the xsr 900, does this have enough power to last? Or would i want to switch to the 9 after a month
Cool honest vid dude. I gotta 18 plate Satin Black version so the wheels are the same bronze as the gearbox. I can also recommend a quality built & sounding system from a British company, TEC. The sound is how a twin should. Keep up the good work fella
How are you guys liking your XSRs now? Thinking it as my very first bike. Very little experience and im 5’8” 150lbs. Would you guys recommend it still?
I had a mt07 for a little under a year and sold because it was my only vehicle at the time, I grew up riding dirt and learn on the fz was pretty easy. do you think ill find anything different to like about the xsr? And also being that the fz 07 was pretty easy for me could the xsr900 still be a bit of a reach?
Have you tried XSR700 and MT07 with aftermarket exhaust, if so which sounds better?? I'm looking for a bike in the market but divided between MT07 and XSR700!!
Iv heard both with akrapovic exhaust and they sound amazing but here in uk there's mt07s everywhere that's why I'm definitely going for the xsr 700,personal choice at the end of the day
August The Honda is “nicer”. More expensive, makes power best when you’re really laying into it, in high rpms... the Yamaha maybe an easier transition, and may have a more “fun” factor, it’s more lively light to light. Honda looks great, sounds great, does really well on the highway.
After test riding this today I am sooo torn between the XSR700 and the SV650 from Suzuki. Both really fun bikes, though the XSR is quite more expensive.. not sure of it's really worth the extra cash.. And both bikes has their pros and cons..
I dont know about U.S. learner rider laws but if youre really allowed to ride one of these having never ridden a bike before I'd say definitely not.....imo it's too powerful for someone who hasnt had time to master throttle/clutch control. You don't want to start on a bike that's prone to lift the front wheel if your throttle/clutch imputs are excessive. Thatt wouldn't end well.....
I just purchased an mt07 as my first bike and yes it was kind of nerve racking first couple days, but after about 300 miles I’m very comfortable on it.
@@viktorklim6344 I'm genuinely interested in this. Are we talking about a first bike after passing your test or a first bike for someone that's never ridden at all? Here in the UK we're restricted to 125cc machines until passing the test and then restricted to (about) 46bhp for a long while after that. Can you guys really just hop on any bike and ride the streets right from day one?

I got a zx6rr for my first bike which was an insane track bike and took a minute to learn if your going with that kind of power just be careful these things are dangerous but mostly the cars on the road are your biggest hazard ride safe my dude
Recently test rode both the Mt07 and xsr 700, and for me personally found the more sporty riding position of the Mt07 much nicer, felt perched on the seat on the xsr, bought the Mt07 as my every day bike and adding a Lextek full system exhaust as standard exhaust on both sounds like a scooter despite the lovely 270 cross plane crank. These are great light bikes ideal for new riders.
You lost me when you ragged the he'll out of a bike with 6 miles on it..... did an emergency stop from fairly high speed on brake pads that only had 4 miles on, don't you have any mechanical sympathy? The person so that buys this bike will be wondering why these crappie glazed pads still aren't wearing after 6 yrs.

I have a xsr 700 and it's a looot of fun. It looks really cool, even better than on video.
Any chance it launched in India

Yamaha is really good at making sexy bikes. A hint of european styling with the japanese engineering
Don't forget the siren song of the cross-plane engine...
Where is the vs Mt part??
He thinks they have the same engine. Even though a FZ 07 has parallel twin, XSR 700 has a inline twin.
nice bike but you should wear kevlar jean, for protection please
Where would you put your money, CB650R or this?
If you look for technology clearly the best option would be CB650R, but if you want power you should go for the xsr700.
The throttle needs a simple adjustment. My FZ-07 was the same. Take out the factory play and you’re good. BTW, the 2020 color for the XSR700 is by far the best. I might buy it.
Do you know if there is ANY difference between the 16,17,18,19,20 models except for the colour? Thanks in advance!
They did a small adjustment on the suspension, it's a little bit tough now.
