    Hi Mitch!, on tme 8:33, shouldn't the Normal reaction force be m x g x sen since its on the y axis?

    • @OSC1990
      @OSC1990  Рік тому

      Ahh. but you have to turn your head to see which way the forces do. The normal force should really be mxgxcos theta in this case.

    why do you used the dynamic formula when ut asks the status faction, it must be

      I don't think I have a specific video on them, but there are a few examples in OSC Study where I solve exam questions and show you how to solve them there with a video?

  • @AarushKhirwadkar

    Shouldn't N = -mgcosθ, since it (N) is acting in the opposite direction?

    • @eve_______
      @eve_______ 5 років тому

      Aarush Khirwadkar in this case they just ask for magnitude direction should not bother us

    • @aalamsultanji4514
      @aalamsultanji4514 4 роки тому +4

      No, because the normal force and the weight cancel each other out, and for that to happen they have to be equal. Which means that:
      N - mgcosØ = 0. Hence, N = mgcosØ

    if it were for dynamic friction how would we go about that?

    • @OSC1990
      @OSC1990  3 роки тому +1

      Dynamic friction is important once an object is moving. Then you just use the equation with mu_d in it

  • @setaremaleki6552
    @setaremaleki6552 5 років тому

    if the surface is lifted wouldn't the object be moving so it should be a dynamic friction?

    • @marcuscheung5025
      @marcuscheung5025 5 років тому

      It wasn't moving until a certain point

    • @ilse_22
      @ilse_22 3 роки тому

      There might be so much friction that the object stays unmoving despite the alleviated surface
