Thanks for sharing this video. I have an HP injet printer and I print all my candles and soap labels in it, matte, glossy , waterproof all sizes and it works great. It’s an HP 7200 series.
For a long time I had inkjet printers. A few years ago I bought a color laser printer. The biggest differences I see in print quality are: 1) the laser is definitely crisper, but 2) the laser doesn't render colors accurately. I *think* there may be more photo-friendly laser options now, so be willing to do you research on Best Buy, New Egg, etc. on the accuracy of color rendering if you go the laser printer route. (I have not used--and don't plan to use--my laser printer for labels, just documents, so accurate color rendering hasn't been a deal breaker for me.) Just throwing that tip out there! And thank you for all your helpful videos, Ashley!
I have the same inkjet printer and OMG yes! It's so amazing and it was so affordable! Especially since the hue of my labels and inserts are very faint and light.
I have ordered my product labels from Avery from Day 1 for my tattoo balm. I order “waterproof removable vinyl stickers” that I use as labels… And for my cosmetic product… It literally makes them look so professional that one of my male friends said “this looks like something I would buy at Sephora“… So from day one my labels have been high-quality! Avery is the only place that I can find waterproof versus weatherproof I also see around. I also advertise my containers as reusable so I want people to be able to easily lift and take the label off once they’re done using the balm inside the tin container. I am now looking into purchasing a laser printer but still ordering the blank labels from Avery because I’m ready to expand making new product labels but I really don’t know how a new product is going to sell so I would rather print off very few at a time And by the time I’m ordering new product labels from Avery multiple times I could’ve already purchased a laser printer from day one! And even though I do get my labels from Avery in about a week… Sometimes I just don’t want to wait because I have a lot of work to do when I’m releasing a new product. The only downfall is when you’re desperate for labels and they come back a little off-center from Avery you now have to wait another week for new labels… So I’m trying to avoid that now that my product is on Amazon and I potentially will have to make new batches of product when I’m getting low on stock.
Love how u broke down the three printers that u use. I have all but the laser. I’m planning a relaunch of my body butters and scrubs and want to level up to a luxe look. Unfortunately, I’ll have to work with the ink jet until I get the money for the laser. Thanks for recommending the matte water proof. By the way, your thermal can print your ingredient labels.
I have that exact same HP inkjet envy printer and no matter what labels I use (including Avery), it always jams, never prints. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. That’s why I assumed I needed a different printer
Really? Thats so interesting! I've only had one or two jams and use it consistently. I'm sorry thats happening because that would be REALLY frustrating!
Thank you for the video 😊. Do you order label qty based on how many of one scent you are committed to making as a rule of thumb? Do you find that you ever have a lot of leftover labels that you never use? Thanks in advance.
I order large quantities to get the price down. My candles purposefully use all the same scent labels so no matter the size I use the same label which helps
Hey there! That’s a pretty loaded question with endless options! I’d recommend finding a cut out shape that you’d like and finding a size closest to that on their website.
I needed to see this video. I thought ai want to print all my labels at home but I don’t want the stress. What size is that thin label written side ways in your candle?
My apologies if you've already addressed this question, but I'm having trouble with ink smearing when I'm printing on either glossy or waterproof paper that I purchased from online labels. Is it because I'm using an inkjet printer? No one told me this would be a problem as I have had much contact with their support team trying to understand the issue. Thanks for any help you can offer. My products are liquid and must be refrigerated so I need a weatherproof / waterproof label. What am I missing here? Why does the ink smear regardless how long it's been left to dry? That's a real problem if my customers have ink coming off in their hand
Yes, its because of the inkjet. Now all you need to do is go buy ONE MORE THING which is a laser printer and it won't do that. Sorry for the bad news but at least you know now!
Please do the foil labels!! I'm designing my logo and my true goal is for it to be foil when printed and I'm so lost. Let alone how the file should look 🤔
How do you order black labels from Avery? Are the labels black or just pick white ones and make the background black? I’m trying to order some and can’t seem to find black labels to customize for them to print
I like your black and grey label. I want mine black with gold writing. Can you have Avery print the black portion with your design in Black and then foil on that label?
Hi, Did you ever try white text on a clear Avery label instead of printing the label with black background for the candle label? So the black candle container material acts as the background color. Just wondering if you’d tried it.
From what I've found, there are not a lot of printers that actually offer white print. They usually have to have the white paper base and then print the offset color to make the white stand out. I'm not an expert with the printing process so I could be wrong but when I went to find clear labels with white print it was meek with results and the work arounds were such a pain that I left that option on the table. Avery had nothing.
If I got the laser printer could I use matte and gloss paper? Or does inkjet have clear matte paper ? I need labels for my lipgloss tubes so clear sticker labels is my go to !
Great video, so useful, thank you. But the sound is really quiet so I have to shut down everything else and sit down to listen rather than listen in the background, so have to find time
love all your videos😍😍 😂😂😂 “ its like naughty “ 😂😂😂 yes do another video with the foil ... when you print from avery, do you put the image inside the square like avery does recommend or do you expland a little more?
I unfortunately don’t know the answer to this. I’d look at individual printer contenders that you are considering and see if it’s noted. My inkjet doesn’t do anything thicker than an average sheet of paper. My laser does but not very ticket still.
Cool!! Hubby bought me the HP Color Laser Jet Printer!!! It seemed to be highly recommended. I want to get your opinion about something. How do I do that? Thank you for this video!
Hey sorry the volume was super low on my computer so I didn't catch one part of your video. Did you say you CAN or CAN'T use thermal labels on candles?
I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.
It took 1/8th of the video just for you to get through talking people out of printing their own labels and shilling Avery. What in the world are you doing here...

Thanks Ashley! This was a great video. I made notes lol. You offered great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
I have no clue what printers Avery uses but they are phenomenal. I have a Brother printer and still not as vibrant as Avery’s.
Totally agree, they are the big leagues with quality
Name the little plant Ferb. Phineas and Ferb.
Oh my goodness! yes!

New sub here, love your personality and thanks for the information 😊

Hi could you please recommend a printer for printing glossy sticky perfumes bottle printers.
Thank you for the video❤️how do you do for the cutting of stickers?
I’m not sure what you mean?
thanks for your work! great that I found you, just landed on your channel and i can't hear you very well, consider the volume of your sound.
Thanks for the tip!

Have you done a label with color? Could you tell a quality difference between the laser and inkjet? Thanks :)
Yes, both I’ve used with color but not for my finished products. Laser was better IMO
Great video.
Thank you!
Thanks so much!
If ordering labels on Avery, what size dimensions do you enter for 8oz/10oz matte candle jars?
Hey there! That’s a pretty loaded question with endless options! I’d recommend finding a cut out shape that you’d like and finding a size closest to that on their website.

Love your energy ! Thanks so much for all your great content
Thanks so much!!
What label/paper do you use for water-proofed with the inkjet printer?
Avery
Just love your energy!
Thank you so much!
Ashley Kindly do recommend a printer that can be used to produces sticky perfume bottles’ labels thanks.
I’m sorry I just can’t. I don’t wanna steer you in the wrong direction and my level of information was all shared on this video!
Lol This was super helpful!! Thank you❤️❤️
Great! I'm glad to hear it!
You can name the smaller plant Pherb or Ferb… Phineas and Ferb
Yes to all of this!
Ashley I'm looking for a good printer for doing transparent labels to go on my wood crafts... What would you suggest.
Eeek I am not sure and that's a lot of pressure because there are a lot of crap printers out there 🙄
is it possible to use a thermal printer like Brother series for making labels for PET plastic bottles (shampoo, cremes etc) ?
Yes.
My apologies if you've already addressed this question, but I'm having trouble with ink smearing when I'm printing on either glossy or waterproof paper that I purchased from online labels. Yes, its because of the inkjet. Now all you need to do is go buy ONE MORE THING which is a laser printer and it won't do that. Sorry for the bad news but at least you know now!
There's a special gloss paper for inkjets. Most gloss paper is for laser only
Please do the foil labels!! I'm designing my logo and my true goal is for it to be foil when printed and I'm so lost. Let alone how the file should look 🤔
I’ll work on it for sure!
How do you order black labels from Avery? Are the labels black or just pick white ones and make the background black? I’m trying to order some and can’t seem to find black labels to customize for them to print
My design is black on a white glossy label.
Thanks for this video it was informative, I just wish you had more experience on printing things with a lot of color!
Glad it was helpful! Maybe some day!
I like your black and grey label. I want mine black with gold writing. Can you have Avery print the black portion with your design in Black and then foil on that label?
No, unfortunately the foil does not work on what I've had printed with them. Not sure why as that's above my pay grade :)
Your personality could not be any BETTER! Your personality is what this world needs MORE of! 💛🔆 #SunshineAndCoffee #NewSub
You are TOO kind! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
WHAT TYPE OF LABELS USE FOR WATERPROOF FOR INKTANK PRINTERS
I’m not sure!
Thank you for this!!
No problem 😊
Has your printer shifted your labels yet? My laser printer was doing great and after a few months its printig off.
Yes, I have to adjust using the printer alignment adjustments on Avery that allow me to allocate a shift to the right, left, up or down.
Hi, Did you ever try white text on a clear Avery label instead of printing the label with black background for the candle label? So the black candle container material acts as the background color. Just wondering if you’d tried it.

Would you know any that can print on Mylar type bags
Unfortunately I am not sure what would print on those! Sorry!
If I got the laser printer could I use matte and gloss paper? Or does inkjet have clear matte paper ? I need labels for my lipgloss tubes so clear sticker labels is my go to !
Yes it sounds like with what you’re trying to do laser would be the best. The gloss or the clear comes out really well with laser!
This video was awesome! How does your inkjet do with card stock?
It gets the job done. I will say that I tried a linen card stock and that did not work. But the flat card stock worked ok!
@@UpsideGoodsCo thanks for the info!
Great video, so useful, thank you. But the sound is really quiet so I have to shut down everything else and sit down to listen rather than listen in the background, so have to find time

Please do the foil labels 🙏🏽 I have been trying to figure it out for a while.
Yes, I still need to do this!
love all your videos😍😍 😂😂😂 “ its like naughty “ 😂😂😂 yes do another video with the foil ... when you print from avery, do you put the image inside the square like avery does recommend or do you expland a little more?
hope i make sense! 😂😂 english not my first language and am speaking like “matao” 😂😂😂
I expand it and print one test label to see how big I can make it! It takes a little tweaking but you’ll get the hang of it! Go outta bounds!
Would love to see how you foil labels!

You're hella funny and helpful lol
Thanks!
thanks for this video!! Phineas little sis name should be Ferbie lol!
Thats so cute!
Did you say inkjet was better for waterproof labels? I want to make waterproof labels.
I can use either for waterproof
@@UpsideGoodsCo ok thank you
just to let you know the sound on my computer is super low. I will try my phone
Thank you! I’ll see if I can edit it to be louder.
Where do you purchase paper?
Avery
An interesting video,
I have a question; From your experience, which is the best printer to print a cardstock or kraft paper.... Laser jet or inkjet?
I unfortunately don’t know the answer to this. I’d look at individual printer contenders that you are considering and see if it’s noted. My inkjet doesn’t do anything thicker than an average sheet of paper. My laser does but not very ticket still.
I get a kick when you go off cue about what you said or what's around you. Makes it more enjoyable.

do you use 3x3 labels on your aura vessels?
I use 1x3
The labels you used the black one on your first candle. What’s the dimensions of that one 😭😭😭😭I look the look of those 🥰🙏🏾
1*3
Which paper it is called??
For the labels? Not sure what you are referring to this as video covers a lot!
