I’ve had mine for about 5 years, absolutely love this rifle. Accurate out of the box with the iron sights, but because my eyes are old I added a scope also. Bought several more magpul 30 round magazines, and a sling. I put this in a pit bull soft tactical case lined for heat so after shooting you can put the rifle away while hot without melting the case. I paid a premium 5 years ago, but worth every penny. MSRP was $799 anyone buying this weapon for Under $600 is getting a phenomenal deal.

Just got mine yesterday. Paid $549.00 out the door at rural king. Bought two boxes of ammo came to about $606.00 Can't wait to put some rounds through it.
I got mine for 360 at a place called fin feather fur a few months ago lol got a 200 dollar scope and 400 rounds for 650 bucks lol I love this gun.
Got mine for 850, plus 300 rounds of Ammo and 2 additional 40 round magazines. Also a free day at the range and a year warrantyfrom the store in additionto the lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. Not bad all told.
Great price. Im thinking of buying my first AR through Rural King. Price is $799 for the "free floating" model. I figure i should grab one before sleepy Joe does away with them.

I bought one used with all the FDE Magpul furniture for $350 at Turners in Commifornia in January just before this pandemic crap started,, they said the original owner bought it, shot less than a 100 rds through it and brought it back and said..."Nah, don't want it anymore"...I was there when they put it on the shelf...asked to see it, held it in my hands, saw the "Used" tag on it and saw the "$350" price tag...said..."I'll take it"...haven't had a chance to shoot it yet due to all this pandemic crisis going on, but you better damm well believe i scored on it. Has the 1:8 twist barrel too...right place at the right time...
Picked mine up mid May this year and it hasn’t changed at all.Great rifle with 700 rounds fired and zero malfunctions.Its super easy to clean.The only thing I added was an eotech red-dot.

I bought one last year , not a single malfunction 500+ RDS so far.
I have this one and I also have the ruger 556 MPR 18” I honestly like the original 556 more.
Thanks for mentioning the front sight adjustment tool. Ruger doesn't seem to show it in the manual. Just picked mine up, in case the Senate has a collective brain fart and tries to ban them. Seems well made. I've been pleased with Ruger quality. I have an LCP MAX for EDC in the summer. Not super accurate, but 10 rounds of Underwood Maximum Expansion may make a difference.
I sold my bump stock and got enough for it to by a used Ruger AR 556. It is the only AR I have which is box stock and will remain that way. I love the forearm, I love the way the Delta Ring screws up and down to take the clam shell forearm off. I don't know if they patented this, they should have and if they didn't every manufacturer should go to this design......fuck mil spec......Ruger had a better idea and we should benefit from it.
The only complaint I had was when I installed an echo trigger it didn't work with the bcg because its not a true full auto bcg. Had to replace it with a palmetto full auto bcg.
I ordered one online, because the price was $570 after tax and transfer fee's. Some have paid even less than me. It is a good deal if under $700, but most of the big box stores want 699 plus tax for them and that is a bit high. I will probably get my new scope for it before I get the gun. Nice AR. One of the best in this price range.
I paid 650 for mine. Great gun for the money. It has a medium contoured cold hammer forged barrel. Take your forearm off and look. It's a beefy barrel. Only thing I changed on mine was a mil spec trigger kit. Changed the springs. It knocked it down from 7-8 lb, to about 4-5lb.

Why not just drop in the 452 trigger?
Bought one last year with no front or rear sights it came with the vortex red dot sight under 600$ took it out ran almost a full mag through it and the gas black was loose and didn't know it and it quit cycling took it home fixed it never had another problem 👍

I bought one and love it. The recoil is fair. And the sights work, they are pretty accurate. The stock is ok but recommended to buy a better one. Tiger made a great ar and they did a pretty good job
I'm buying one exactly like that in a month. Great video. Very informal. I'm new to ar rifles. I feel this will be a great rifle to get me into learning them.

I got mine when they first came out $550 at a sporting goods store. Only thing I did was put a CMC trigger in it. Did not care for the stock trigger. Runs like a sewing machine. Love it. Might get another someday and put it up for down the road...
Just got one online for 549.00. Includes Magpul FDE furniture and comes with 2 pmags. I have yet to take it to the range, but will very soon. 15 dollar transfer fee and 5 dollar background check, out the door for less than 600.00.
I just got one last week, picked up on the last day they could be had in my state with a standard magazine. Now they'll only be available with reduced-capacity mags. I haven't shot it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
The Colt AR-15 Sporter I bought in 1974 didn't have a forward assist, nor did the M-16s I used in basic training or the security police school, but by the time I got to my duty station they were standard on the newer M-16A1s we had. Having used both, I can take it or leave it, but its presence on the Ruger doesn't turn me off.
I like the lack of the built-in carry handle the old ones had; the lower lines make adding optical sights more practical, and the iron sights it comes with look good.
The M4-style stock will take some getting used to. Not sure if I'll replace it with an old-style fixed stock or not.
Now to find a rifle range in my area.
I bought one for $629 at a sporting goods store. As I was field stripping the rifle to clean it before use I encountered an issue. The gas key on the bolt carrier group was not staked properly and the hex screws were completely sheared off. The gas key fell off as soon as the bolt was taken out. I would say that a buyer should check that area before making a buy on these.
If it performs like its little brother 10/22 ,we're in for a real treat!! I get mine this month!! 👍👍
Ahh, the age old “forward assist argument”. To which I only say this, S.P.O.R.T.S..
S-slap the magazine in fully
P-pull on the charging handle
O-observe chamber (clear)
R-release the charging handle
T-tap the forward assist
S-squeeze the trigger
(Weapon goes bang!)
When I was in the Army this worked for me on the range a couple of times and once overseas. Bottom line, shit happens, so it’s nice to have a tool with enough gizmos and gadgets that assist in a wider array of shooting scenarios and training. JMO.
As soon as I read sports I knew you served before I read that you did. Anyone who says you don't need the forward assist or the dust cover have never served lol
Bought one a new one from a gun dealer, shot it the next day and it literally jammed on every shot. Called dealer he came to the house to check it out. He said there was something wrong with the pick up and the barrel was marred like it had been in a vise. He was not happy ! He is sending it back and I am supposed to be getting another. Little disappointed with the fact that they even sent this gun out. Have a Ruger 9 American and love it

I bought mine back in 2016 cash Iits been a struggle since I rarely shot it I only have 350 rounds through it so far But I ended up adding the UTG pro hand gaurd from at3 tactical and a angled grip I installed a rise armament 3.5 trigger the radian raptor LT barging handle and geislele H1 buffer as spring and I got a LPVO Scop on it now with a Vtac two point sling I’m still not done upgrading it more to come
Get yourself a drop in quad rail handguard. They're about 45$, all aluminum with the 12 clip on protection pads and the added weight gives the gun a nice balance since it's pretty ass heavy.
Ruger makes good guns it's a safe bet that's a good ar
Bought mines a few months ago (Texas) now ive probably invested maybe $1000 worth of attachments ; scope , angled fore grip, red lancer mags, etc... just missing a flashlight. Otherwise beautiful gun

It’s 2020. I’ve had one since it came out and it’s still doing great and only put a scope , a magpul acs , and a foregrip and a hlr tl light and about 10,000 rounds so far 😂. Budget gun my ass . It shoots great the trigger isn’t made for precision shooting . Ya practice and get good with guns . Pistols are the hardest

Unfortunately living in the wonderful state of Maryland mine only came with a restricted 10 round Magazine so I had to make a trip up to Gettysburg Pennsylvania at my favorite gun sporting store up there to purchase a couple of 30 round Magazine's it's legal to cross state lines to because you are purchasing them out of state , yeah I will keep the 10 mag also , now all I need is a scope.
Mine definitely did not come with an aluminum sight post. You can check yours but mine is steel.
I want one so bad. I'm hoping for it to go on sale so I can grab one

Friends have had problems with dpms. No one I know has had any issues with these rugers .

-- Think Kyle Rittenhouse found the forward assist pretty useful. Just ordered a Whiteout version of this firearm for my nephew's birthday. Simple, compatible with a lot of parts. Good starter platform for a 14 year old.
I hate when people say "you don't need the forward assist" the AR was designed to have it. The only reason a manufacturer would leave it off is to be cheap, who wants to buy a product knowing the manufacturer cut corners and left out design features just to save a few dollars?? Not me!

Got mine when they first came out like you and and in 2021 it’s all still a great gun . Not a Daniel defense but a good solid AR. Heats up a little after 20 rds or so and not so super accurate , cpl inches of that . Do other a r s heat up and become less accurate ? Ignition switch out a 3x9 Nikon for a sig sauer Romeo 5 red dot that’s pretty popular lately .
Trijicon is too much $$ when sig has that product for under $200 ..yeah man .
It annoys me so bad coz i wanna buy myself one but fully automatic guns are illegal here in New Zealand. But theres the TIPMANN M4-22 10 round for sale here and all those guns. Is the TIPMANN M4-22 a good idea of semi auto?
That gun probably looks nothing like the way it came out of the box . Magpul stuff looks so cool with a 3x9 scope and bipod ..,next is a suppressor for mine .

do you have to tear the new rifle down before you shoot it and lube it up or is the factory Ruger Lube good enough ?
akclan33 I would highly recommend lubing it up when you first get it! Mine came a little dry from the factory

Love mine but a word to the wise I bought mine like 2 weeks ago. It took me and 2 buddies to get the damn delta ring to unscrew after I over tightened, use literally 2 fingers if you took the handgaurds off to retighten it.
Victor Smith I know exactly what you're talking about! I should have mentioned it in the video. For me it took a leather belt and channel locks to break it loose.
Buy some dry grease and put it on the threads, you will never have that problem again. :-)

I want to get a ar15 rifle just because if 💩 hits the fan mags will be plentiful and ammo but I always hesitate because I've had many ar15 rifles fail jam so I've never felt like it's a rifle I can trust my life with and stuck with my ak47 rifles

Optics & scopes can fail I’ve seen it happen having iron sites is a must have on any riffle it’s foolish to sell a riffle that doesn’t have iron sites you can’t always rely on optics or scopes it’s kinda dumb in my opinion to buy a riffle that doesn’t come with stock iron sites on it
Have you shot 556 through it? Is there any difference between 223 and 556 in this model. I have one but haven't shot 556 yet
