@aswchris Thank you! Yeah, it's not too bad but it certainly feels a lot worse with all the truck traffic coming from the Gulf and headed to the Northeast. I-485 has taken a lot of cars off 85 and is now (if not more) congested like 85 can get. Mecklenburg County will pass the 1,000,000 mark in less than 10 years and Charlotte should be 1 mil+ by 2030. Thanks for watching!
I love your videos, youve got a great intro going there. Thumbs up!! and I love how at 2:34 you say that the traffic count for 2008 was 117,000. This is because its an eight plus lane highway, and near me our main freeway has a current count of 100,000 plus and its only four lanes :P
I know this sounds cheesy but I always wondered how a state chooses the design of their route signs. Like I noticed NC has a diamond, TN has an upside down triangle, and VA uses like a half-melon shape. Nice video though!
Excellent video, LOVE the virtual Electronic Message sign at 1:12, very creative and well executed! This road was terrible before the major widening projects in the 1980's.
@FreewayTitan Yep, this is NC's first IKEA. It opened a little over a year ago and, as expected, has been met with many happy and shocked customers who weren't aware that IKEA existed. Thank you!
@reiltations Charlotte is definitely one of my favorite cities (I live up the road in Winston-Salem). Like I tell everyone, I don't feel like I'm in NC when I'm there. I thank you for watching and I should be releasing an I-77 to I-277 with awesome Uptown views soon. :-)
Great video with good editing! I like the little exit signs. 117.000 vehicles per day for 8 lanes is not bad by the way. But I guess traffic volumes are booming just as fast as Mecklenburg County.
@Freewayjim Thanks, pal! I felt like experimenting with something new and created that LED sign in Photoshop. It took me forever to find a digital-ish font in LiveType. Like my signs, I based the layout and design off of Atlanta's digital signs.
Congratulations fron Brazil. I do videos in the same style of yours. But yours is way better. I use Imovie and learning Final Cut Express. Take care, Marcos
@XCtrackRUNnner Thank you! Yeah, I know what you mean. A 4-lane freeway near me that was built in the 1950's and is very unsafe has traffic levels that rival the road in this video.
@CAMINOANDALUZ Thank you, man! One of my goals with these videos is to make them as realistic as possible for the viewer. I appreciate you being a dedicated viewer!
@taffarelvl Gracias, Marcos! Your videos are really good! I love to see what it's like from a trucker's perspective. I see you drive a Volvo truck? I drive a Volvo as well, just not a truck. :-)
@CosmoPhotography I drive a Freightliner Columbia. Glad you like my videos, I have over 30 videos about american trucks and highways. Take care my friend, Marcos
