- Can't believe how FAST stock electronics are!!! Paired the Limitless spool assembly with the 27T high speed pinion and she was moving. Made a go bag to easily swap back to street bash set-up in about 10 minutes. Tagged a pole during a brain fade and had to bring the hammer out to finish the run. I'm truly amazed at how well engineered this platform is. Huge props to ARRMA, Voltage Hobbies, M2C Racing, and Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA.

Epic video bro, this thing is springily tough. Shame about the radio, I really like the AVC it would be a shame to loose it but if range sucks then its gotta go :( Careful beating on it, the haters will swarm over like a herd of zombies lol, but ya gotta love a bit of RC blood! She straightened right out and went right back together 👌. I really like the AVC too at about 30%. It was definitely a bit nerve racking doing the faster passes without it. Gonna try extending the antenna up to body height with a taller tube🤔. That was suggested by ARRMA engineering. Will say they listen closely to our feedback 👊. Much respect for that. Arrma really needs to address this radio issue. Everyone is complaining about this cheap Spectrum. No matter what car they have. 99mph is pretty good man! Great vid Rich!!👍👍

Hey man I have question. How long dose the battery last on this 34t and dose the esc over heat? I have limitless it only works for 50 seconds and over heats and battery give me 3minutes max have the Hobbywing esc and motor 2250kv sensored motor

My ESC stayed within tolerable heat ranges 👍. Never had Crazy drops with my Hobbystar packs either. The high speed pinion, however, is just for speed passes with subsequent cool downs. I'm definitely no speed run guru, but something sounds amiss. I've never used sensored either. If your mesh and bearings are all good, I'd think it's either your packs, connections, or an issue with the ESC 🤔😎💪👊👊

@@RBTheMechanic correct 👍. I did a few passes with 27/34T spool/gearing and the hard drifts etc... were all with the regular set-up that comes with the Infraction. That's the center diff and 18T pinion. No overheating issues. 👍👍

FREAKIN sweet Infraction vid brother!!🔥😎👊Some sweet drifting and flat hauling!! The pole stack was INSANELY BRUTAL!😳😱Glad you were able to field repair it!👌Congrats on the PB man! Plug it up to your data logger program. You can get it though Horizon's website. The GPS refresh rate is good but doesn't catch specific speed in that short of a run. That was 100-101mph guaranteed!👊I strived to get that but the spool is where I was lacking I guess🤔Went too large of a pinion and the ESC would just cut out under load. Pretty sure I damaged it then it blew just pleasure running😂That jump was crazy!! These flying fruitcakes have 0 air control!😂when I jumped mine off the loading dock area, It'll take small jumps if you stay on the throttle but too much air and looses all! But hey...We're hard core bashers, we gotta try it!😜🤘🤘Simply awesome vid Rich and hats off for pushing the limits!😎💪💪🤘👊👊🍻

How does a spool work? And what is it for
It works by eliminating the differential or slipper clutch, meaning the motor will output the same rpm to both front and rear differentials regardless.

Do you by chance use a glitch buster? I have a rig with Spektrum AVC and a high amp draw servo. I noticed that AVC/TSM/gyros are very demanding on receivers. The glitch buster in my rig has helped tremendously. Just a thought?
There have been numerous you tuber reviewers who have experienced range issues just as yourself. Hopefully a 80% version will be available in the future like the Speed Run offering. I think most of their 6s and up rigs should be offered as a roller. Higher budget rig buyers tend to have personal preferences through experience. It would save the buyer $$ and possibly boost their sales.

Thanks so much Greg 👊!!!! Appreciate the kind words Brother 🍻. I have used a glitch buster when running a Savox 1230 in a couple different rigs and it help smooth things out. An external BEC is sometimes the only option depending on the servo. The stock 15kg servo is plenty in this platform 👌. Pretty sure this is purely a range issue with the radio. Gonna try extending the antenna to the body. If that doesn't work, I'll likely get a long range radio for doing longer passes. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
I don't I've ever you you say stupid about your skills so much ever before Rich. The range issue with spectrum is my no.1 Issue with that controller. Especially with something so fast. I was racing my Son In Law last weekend and I when out of range and the Talion went right into the Pond at their Apartment Complex. Able to save it still made me angry. I wonder how are these guys getting 100+ runs on "stock" pinions and electronics. You hit 99 and it was juiced. So I'm starting to think some guys are fudging the numbers on UA-cam. You are a R=Drift Master I've never seen RC Drifts like that. Still wait on my Shop to get Back Orders in so I can get one of these. I can't wait. Great Job Again!

Thanks so much Brother 😊!!!! ESC temps were fine, about 120-125F but the motor got hot pretty quickly. Think around 170F. That was after 2 hard passes, but think that's pretty normal at max RPM with that kinda load. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Nice bash! What I find inspiring is that you make repairs on location where I usually just pack it up and take it to the house. Bummer about the radio issues and I know how it feels to be nervous after losing signal. Interested to see what you'll do to replace rx and tx or what you decide to do to gain back confidence for longer range. I picked up a couple receivers and a RadioLink 6ch system but haven't put it on yet. Kraton v4 is the only truck that has me afraid.

Hey Rich hi recently watched one of your videos of your arrma kraton with the hobby star 1730 on it thinking about switching to this motor and I was wondering if you ever fried one I had a Mamba Monster X 2200 combo kit fry yesterday that motor wasn't on the truck 5 minutes was running a 12 tooth pinion. What would you recommend to run with a hobbystar hopefully I will have better luck. I'm running a SMC 6500 Mah 6s and would like to continue to run that big battery but I can't find a motor that will keep up with it without frying have you got any suggestions
Man that's a serious bummer about your Castle system 😱. I'd try and warranty it if possible. I'm still running my original Hobbystar 1730 4092 from around 2 years ago. It's a Killer motor with gobs of power and torque. I have it paired with a Hobbywing Max8 ESC. Some guys run theirs with a Max6, but oddly my Hexfly Hex6 got too hot with it during the summer. It does read

After install the spul I have little space between 34t spur and 27t pinion. Did you have the same problem. It's not 100% meshing. I consider to install 30t pinion to fix the meshing.

Have you been able to run the whole duration of the battery with the spool on it or does it heat up too much?
How much run time are you getting out of a pair of batteries?
Just depends on driving habits, but probably about 20-25 minutes of drifting with the 6500mah 75c Hobbystar packs. 😎💪👊👊

I did have problems breaking at high speed with factory esc changed it to xlx before could even get close to hitting anything. Like the video I definitely put the infraction through it’s paces. So u going to leave frame like it is? Or you going to replace it.
The stock electronics are impressive . I've only had range issues with the stock reciever and controller. I never did try extending the antenna though 🤔. My chassis is staying put. She's running true and all the holes lined up fine. Great rig this Infraction 🥰🤙🤙😎💪👊👊

Folsom Lake Granite Bay main beach parking 👍. The second lot was lower parking south of the main launch ramps. It's under water several months of the year. Hence the dirt and driftwood I was bouncing off of. It's a regular flight spot for planes and helis🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks Brother 👊!!!! I can't profess to be a speed run pro by any stretch. Guys have used the 1730 geared up for speed builds, but the TP4070 and Castle XLX or new MMX8s seem to be top picks for hitting bigger #'s. I think the Hobbystar is only 50k RPM rated 🤔. Most guys use 200A + esc's along with cap packs like Ripple Killer...etc. 😎💪👊👊

Wazzzup dude lost signal Hmmmm I may have to switch my tactic remote to the Outcast when it gets here.
Question if ya know. The 13 tooth pinion motor plate for the 3 s outcast and the motor plate for the granite have that difference where the granite pinion setting goes to only a 15 tooth.
If I use dremil to dremil out stock slipper plate and fit 13 pinion is that a good idea.
I know it goes in and I won’t grind to much out.
I am having no luck running 3 s my system gets to hot and sometimes solder leads cook and come off.
Anywho any help I’ll take ideas explaining/ experience knowledge I love this hobby.

Thanks Michael 😊!!!! Yeah it's Crazy how the TTX300 has better range even with no antenna 😱. The motor plates all have a 13, 15, 20, and 26 pinion option I thought 🤔. I'm out of town so I can't compare ATM but think the 3 and 4s use the same. The Hot Racing adjustable mount is superior IMO. You can Dremel the stocker to loosen the mesh some. The 3s rigs come with very tight mesh for sure. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

I run GRP S5's and the Limitlessness Hoons speed wheels. The cheap white rimmed set were Dynamite speedtreads roadrunners. They didn't last long. 😎💪👊👊

From what I have been seeing with your GPS, it constantly reads 2mph slower than a Garmin. So quite possibly 101mph.

Sir Bash. Could that spool be used to delete the centre diff on an Arrma Kraton and what would the effects be?
If it had no centre diff that's one less diff to have to be constantly fixing 🤣
You could replace the center diff with a spool, but I wouldn't do that with a bash rig 👀. My guess is you'd put way more stress on the crown and input gears. Particularly when landing front or rear wheels first or bouncing up over objects. It's true the center diff takes the most abuse, but it's also the easiest to access and great for fine tuning the handling with different fluid weights. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I actually like using it at about 30% for both 👍. Think I waited until my 3rd or 4th run to even try the AVC. It works Fantastic for tracking straight on speed runs and helps you pull smoothly out of hard drifts. I extended my antenna almost to the roof sometime after this upload and have had far better range with the DX2E. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Depth perception gets tough at speed sometimes... this Infraction I think is going to become a huge classic in future...As I mentioned in another vid I discovered smaller scale brushless after coming from 1/8th Nitro buggies.. The power is insane... and you don't annoy everyone around with the noise either... keep up the great reviews Rich... There's sooo very few on YT that are Honest... nice one Rich. Shitty deal with the crashes and with the radio. I have a few radios and the Radiolink RS6GS has like 400m + of range and is super adjustable and cheap. I noticed several youtubers like Jay Tee RC and Richie from Driftomaniacs changed to this radio as well for the Infraction and seem to like it. I probably shouldn't have attempted that pass with the stock Spectrum, but was itching to test the spool. Fortunately, I had started slowing down before losing signal 🙏. It was a horrible feeling watching it coast out of control 😱. Definitely won't ever try another pass with it again. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊
Man Rich you put that rig threw its paces. That’s an amazing all road truck. Is the limitless more or less have the same ability? I’m really thinking limitless for myself. Not for the off road running but it’s a big vehicle that can handle some imperfect pavement and I want to add my own electronics to it
Thanks Brother 👊. The Limitless and Infraction share almost identical core parts I believe. Other than the body and differences in the wing, splitter, and supportive pieces for both, I think the spool is the biggest difference 🤔. You could drop a center diff in the Limitless if you wanted for more tuning and drifting about without high temps or cogging you might experience with the spool. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I actually didn't do any reinforcing to my Infraction body. It's held up incredibly so far. I have used Gorilla tape and a heat gun with several others though. Just did it with a new Outcast body. 😎💪👊👊

That's pretty accurate 😱👍👍. The wheels are so light you pretty much have to have luck on your side and the perfect pace and takeoff 👀. There's no midair corrections really. 🍻😎💪👊👊
My infraction is unstable, I can start out from about 500m and ease into the throttle, but as soon as it's almost wot it spins out, no traction 🤷🏾♂️
Have you dialed up the AVC at all 🤔. I run mine at about 30% and it tracks perfectly straight on hard throttle yet still allows good drifting and quick corrections. It's possible a rock is jambed up or something is off with your steering. A bad bearing can also wreak havoc. I'd look closely at the tires. If one has uneven wear, you might investigate the camber....etc. 🍻😎💪👊👊

The AVC at 30% is very nice 👌. I went back to riding bareback with the Tactic on punch 4, brake 50%, and steering dual rate bumped down. I actually loosened my pillow balls a pinch but it's probably ill advised for pure speed runs 🤐. Never mentioned it, but I'm using Savox servo screws on my splitter 👍. They thread deep and don't pull out when you love tap a solid object 😱. ARRMA did an incredible job with this Beast no doubt 😍!!!! 🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

Hey all I'm kinda new to all this was wondering what is the difference between a spur and a spool?
A spool is a solid locked gear on a shaft. It eliminates the center differential and makes for consistent all wheel drive power for speed runs. A spur gear on a center diff allows for different viscosity silicone to tune front to rear power distribution. 👍

I tapped the bearing out from the outside of the can using a bolt slightly smaller in diameter than the endbell hole. 😎💪👊👊

The GRP's are a great option for hauling ass or drifting. That said, the Hoons are smoother over rough pavement. No real favorite. 😎💪👊👊
