Hi there! Good stuff in your channel. This picked my curiosity. Last year I made a phosphorescent (not flourescent) mural and charging it with a 395nm light seems to yeld good results. Now, not having the issue of what becomes visible and not and being focused only on making the strontium paint glow as bright as possible (and charging it as fast as possible), I'd wonder if you'd still recommed a 365nm light for it or if in my case stronger is just better. Actually had the idea of going with a UV-C lamp for room disinfection when no one is inside, but I guess it would do a poor job for what I have in mind?
If you're just charging the strontium paint both 365nm and 395nm will get the job done. UV-C should charge it as well, I'm not sure how long it'll hold the charge since I don't really play around with UV-C. In the end if you just want to charge it as fast as possible any UV light source will get the job done. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!!

The problem is finding a lamp that meets my needs.

I should've covered everything that you need for your flower project. I do have 3 videos of wildfire paint that you can check out. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. There is also a glow green wall video as well.
What do you suggest for fluorescent books?
@aishah suhaimi strongly suggest 365nm for that. You’ll get the true fluorescent color without the purple visible light. Please remember to subscribe if you got value out of this content! Mahalo!
Nice demonstration.
Thank you very much!
I'm trying to figure out a way to highlight my vitiligo using individually placed lights directed by or inserted to a garment/piece of clothing. Is there much difference between this range of UV and a woods lamp?
The blacklight spectrum is usually between 365nm to 400nm. Although true UV is from 365nm.
Hello there how can i reach out to you. I am trying to do a glow in the dark party in a club and would like to know what kind of setup will be needed for 300-350 individuals
You can DM me on IG @uvblacklights. Or email blacklightresource@gmail.com
Great vid. Great explanation. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching!
So I'm trying to buy a black light because I'm doing airbrush florescent tshirts but I don't know what blacklight to buy. I want to take it with me and use it for Friday nights at the fleamartk so it needs to last and it needs to make the designs look bright. I was wondering if you could help me out in it?
I would look into a 365nm wavelength black light. If you want top notch quality, I would check out wildfirelighting.com. That is, if you have the ability to plug the fixture in for power. If you do, check out their Ultrablade or Effects Master fixtures.
@@UVBlackLights perfect thank you so much for your time 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hey! I have some UV artwork in my office. Was wandering if a tv or computer screen light will affect the use of UV lights. And if so how much?
Hello! Any visible light will affect it somewhat, but I don’t think you’ll have an issue with a TV or computer screen.
i have 2 18' black light fixtures with traditional fluorescent black light bulbs in them. one of the fixtures has a starter and the other fixture has a board with capacitors and no starter. is it possible for me to convert one or the other to accept LED black light bulbs?
You can but you would have to rewire the fixture to straight line voltage. You’ll also need non shunted sockets.
Also make sure you disconnect any ballast inside the fluorescent fixture.
@@UVBlackLights they aren't hanging/mounted fixtures for your home. they are the ones you plug into the wall socket. does this make a difference?
@andrewolfgang389 doesn’t make a difference.
@@UVBlackLights thanks bro!
your videos are really helpful thank you!

Any recommendations for 365nm uv led light strips? Ideally something 2-3 feet in length for a small project. Mahaloz!
Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations. These are too expensive for me to purchase right now for a demo. You can check out waveformlighting.com.
Any recommendation on UV LED Black Light Strips for a vehicle?
What do you plan on doing with it for a vehicle?
@@UVBlackLights Putting them in the interior foot well and probably up above near the dome lights.
@@blayneerskine8963 do you want the purple visible light? If so, check out my LED strip video. If you want no visible light then you’ll want to get 365nm led strip.
The links to these lights don't lead to the specs of the products anymore, I wanted to know the output wattage of the lights you've used.
Yes, unfortunately they’re sold out on this lamp. It was 15W.
@@UVBlackLights Thanks, I appreciate it!
I just recently purchased some blacklight flocked posters and I'm not quite sure what light strips I could purchase that would really make my posters really pop and glow. Any recommendations?
@psycho reptile does it have to be strips and what wavelength are you looking for 365nm or 400nm?
@@UVBlackLights I would prefer strips if possible but willing to purchase a lamp if it would do just as well or better. It's for a small living room. I'm not sure what would be best wavelength. Whatever would really give me the best glow for blacklight posters
@@psychoreptile1474 Personally I would go with a lamp style, it has more UV power. I would go with 365nm for posters.
Great video. Which wave length would be best for identifying Vaseline glass?
365nm for that type of glass. Thank you!!
Hey boss I really appreciate your video, I was wondering about using the uv light to deoxidize the bottoms of shoes, I’m not sure if you are familiar or if your higher understanding could point me in the right direction.
I’ve heard of it before but don’t know much about it. Sorry!
How bout IR light and paint?
Unfortunately, I don't know much about IR.
Hey, great video and what is the best flash light for a cleaning company? Also any good UV light cleaner wand or not worth it? Thanks 👍🌟
Thank you! I would take a look at UV Beast V3. I have videos on that as well. The UV wands I wouldn’t use.
I want to know the best wavelength for pest control. I use a uv light with uv reactive tracking dust in both light and dark scenarios

I'm looking for a 90cm 365nm led black light in the UK but can't seem to find any, all seem to be 395nm already have one of those though and want less visible light
I have a 24” 365nm blacklight I’m selling that’s linked in this video, but shipping it to the UK will probably cost an arm and a leg!
@@UVBlackLights yeah I imagine it would, absolute nightmare to find one here it would seem, plenty 395nm and 365nm floodlight style ones, not what I am after though

Which nm is best for uv printing,365 ,390 or someone else?
365nm for UV prints
very cool! learned something new today!
Glad I could help!
Duuude! You had me totally nerding out haha this is awesome content!
I was looking at black lights for night fishing on the beach in SoCal when I stumbled across your channel.
I thought they were all the same.
lol I ordered a couple to try but now I’m diving deeper into this after this video and will most likely end up upgrading these soon lol
Thank you
Yeah it’s pretty crazy how different blacklights are. You can’t just buy one and think it’s good enough.
I've got a small 1bedroom apartment that I'd like to deck out with blacklights. but I'm not sure whether to get the fluorescent tube lights I had as a kid or whether to go the led route which may not only be cheaper but also brighter as well. You didnt touch on fluorescent tube bulbs however I figure you'd probably know which would be better money wise as well as brightness...
I'm also wondering how many I will need to buy in order to make my apartment really stand out. I know if I use tube bulbs I'd have to buy 4or5 24in bulbs just for my livingroom. Would it be cheaper and turn out better if I use leds rather than the tubes? I pay 10$ for a 24in fluorescent tube @Walmart...
If you have the time to respond I'd really appreciate you're input...
Check out this video it may help. Fluorescent vs LED. ua-cam.com/video/xiVrpMNe_tw/v-deo.html
You really can’t go wrong with fluorescent or LED. You probably only need 2 blacklights per room, if that’s the only lights on and it’s pitch dark. Although if you’re buying cheap ones from Walmart then yes you’ll probably need a lot more. I would invest and pay a little more for quality, you won’t regret it.
I want to put led strip lights around half of my room in the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. Im planning to hang some uv reactive artwork underneath the runs. What would be best?
Any UV strip lights will work, it all depends on how much you want to spend? 365nm strips are harder to come by and are expensive. The 390-400nm strips are more affordable. Strip light video ua-cam.com/video/yUa4X6szPe8/v-deo.html
Awesome video! I recently purchased a 50 what led black light but I feel like it was more blueish then a black light and was not as potent as my other black light could you help me out do I need 400 nm
Eric Reyna thank you! which blacklights do you have?
I have a 3D printer uv resin curing light. I was looking for a two pack on amazon would you know what would be best
@@ericreyna3060 Any 365-400nm UV light will work, just make sure it has a good amount of output. The 3D Printer uv resin curing light doesn't come with it?
So 400 nm is the best ? I didn’t see a two pack of those lights:/
@@ericreyna3060 If it's plastic bonding then yes, if it's glass go with 365nm.
What's good for sanitation
You would want UV-C. I’m not too familiar with that, but you should be able to find info on google.
Which is best to see around a room and still get good glow off of paint? I have a small arcade and don’t want people bumping into each other, but want carpet to glow. Thanks
I would go with 365nm. It still gives off some visible light. That is what most arcades, mini putts and bowling alleys use. You can still see your surroundings.
Trying to get something for fog lights on my car. Recommendations for wavelength and where to buy the diodes?
I'm looking at this for I'd checking. I have a 385-395 uv flashlight. I looked at the state of California's dmv website. It showed some makings on the id's but not all. Specifically the green golden gate bridge. I wonder if it's my flashlight. Are there certain wavelengths that certain nm can highlight and others that can't? Would 365 be better for an id like that ,?
@hatemadness yes, you definitely want 365nm UV flashlight for that. Certain colors only show up under that wavelength.
Great information, I'm building a cosplay right now and am deciding between LED diodes. My plan is to light a couple flexible, clear vinyl tubes filled with uv reactive fluid. Which would you think is best in this application? The LEDs would be in immediate proximity. Thanks!
I would try to get 365nm to reduce as much purple visible light possible, but it can get very expensive versus 390-400nm led diodes. Also be very careful on how close of contact you are with these UV diodes near your skin and eyes.
@@UVBlackLights luckily it's mainly emitting from my back almost acting as a flexible fiber optic light. Just need that extra pizzazz in low lit areas
Sounds like a cool costume. Let me know if you post it anywhere!
Hey, I’m looking for a uv light source that has a little visible light as possible. I’m hoping to use it to hide personal info from cameras without showing I have lights applied.
Hello. You definitely want to go with 365nm then. Im not sure what you’re trying to do. Are you looking for a blacklight fixture or flashlight type?
@@UVBlackLights a fixture to go around my license plate. I might be mistaken but from my understanding, I can use UV lights to wash out cameras. I was thinking of having a plexiglass cover with a strip of LEDs along the edges.
I’m not sure about that, I have no experience with that. Is this going on your car?
@@UVBlackLights that’s the plan. I’ve seen other videos where UV lights are used to block cameras but I haven’t seen them used in this application before.
Not sure. I once thought if you have plexi over it the sun or light would reflect off it but no idea if that works lol. Maybe same concept?

I'm wanting to make a painting with normal acrylic that looks normal in regular light. I want to add invisible uv black light paint so when the black light is switched on at the same time as normal lights the invisible images or words appear. What should I use?
You should use wildfire invisible clear UV paint. I have a video on that.
@@UVBlackLights any particular black light that will work while normal lights are on? Any particular wattage etc. thanks
@@ThomasHawkwood I have some blacklights in my shop linked in the description. You want to make sure you use a 365nm blacklight when you’re working with invisible UV paint. If you have a lot of regular lights on it’ll diminish any blacklight effect, just keep that in mind.
@@UVBlackLights I'm going to have a show in a public space in November so I don't really have much control of the lighting. That's why I'm trying to get a combination of paint and focused black light that will work in that situation.
@ThomasHawkwood you’ll probably have to put the light within a foot of your display if there is normal light around, unfortunately.

Blacklight bulbs aren’t really that powerful if they’re the screw in type E26. You may need a lot of them. I would like at some linear type options, 2’ or 4’ lengths.
Apologies for the late response, I didn’t see this comment until now.
What UV is best for checking ID and Money Security features?
The best for that is 365nm.
Hey, I need to photograph some playing cards that have hidden images only visible with a UV light. I also want the normal parts of the card to show up in the photo. Should I go with the 400nm?

heyyy I do museum displays for a living. I have a client that wants a japanese statuette made from uranium glass illuminating within the display case. it is about 12" tall and apparent quite dense (in terms of transparency) what would you recommend to get the best penetration through the object if it was to be lit from behind or in front. (they already tried underneath but the light only went half way up the object)
thanks
Do you know what kind of blacklight they used?
What would be a good UV light for glow in the dark and neon art. Say flower and other art. In canvas.

Hi Great review by the way. I need advice on which is better for indoor football with uv light, football in the dark?
You will probably want more visible light, so you can somewhat see. For more visible purple light you can use the 400nm wavelength.

Hello! Thanks so much for your content. I am working on an art piece and the paint I'm wanting to use is the invisible paint. I saw based on your other vids, I should be using the 365nm lights. Do you think the 400 would be better for the invisible paint or should I stick to the 365? Thanks!
If you’re using invisible paint, you want to use 365nm only or some of the colors won’t work.
@@UVBlackLights Thanks! I will! ^^
I am looking for a UV light that is 12volt direct current and can be used outdoor. Is there one that projects light a great distance and at a powerful output? I am looking to fluoresce construction workers as they work at night, since their high visibility clothing reacts to black light, it will help them be visible to oncoming traffic. The problem is finding a lamp that meets my needs.
Unfortunately, I don’t know of any blacklight that can be strong enough for 12V output for that kind of application. What about a rechargeable blacklight? I don’t know how far away you’ll be but it might work. I have a video on it.
