I think the 3 biggest issues with Horizon 5 are: Outdatedness of the map, De-saturation (figuratively and literally) and aim to please the non-car people players. Everything on the map is set in the past, all the towns/settlements are old fashioned (Yes, Mexico isn't the richest country but I'm sure there are some places that are more modern), the airport is old and abandoned, all the roads are cracked up ect- take FH3 it is essentially FH5 (similar map style/location) but has a modern city, modern airport, modern villages/towns and modern roads/features- and that game still feels more relevant, even though it is 6 years old! The general, as you said, atmosphere of the game is terrible- there is no sense of excitement/ feeling you're playing a game themed around a music/car festival, but also the map is physically de-saturated, all the colours are really dull and there is no vibrancy to the physical look of the game. Lastly it is very obvious to see that the game is a gap filler between consoles and also is tailored for the wider audience; H5 doesn't use the new gen consoles to their full potential, so it can be played on the original Xbox One- which generally mutes down the general excitement of the game for everyone as it is tailoring to the lowest common denominator. Finally, the game is very clearly aimed more towards people who played H5 at launch because it was new and interesting, as the game has a heavier theme on graphics and the like, and when they recycle cars, new players (of which there are a lot with Horizon 5) see it is new content, and as there are lots of new players they are trying to please them more- leaving the long term Horizon players/ car people feeling like they are being ignored.

I played FH4 for like 3 years straight until FH5 came out and now I can barely enjoy FH5 anymore. Between having NO VIBE and nothing going on, there is terrible racing online, broken rivals leaderboards and the playlist every week just feels tedious and boring. I have honestly been cruising around FH3 lately and falling in love all over again. Fantastic video as always Speed 👊
4 was never the worst for me by any Margin, it's easily the best in my opinion, from that atmosphere of the festival, a great map with seasons, the best showcases in the series etc etc It's just that most enjoyable
The only amazing thing about it was the seasons. The map was just alright, the sounds were horrible, single player was a joke, and the worst multiplayer I've ever touched. Also the showcases were extremely boring since they were heavily scripted.
I actually never thought that H4 was the worst. No matter how much I played it I never got bored. The map also has very nice feeling to it and loved cruising on it. I also really liked Storm Island expansion. The music was also really good too. Like you cannot go wrong with zodiac by sung, fly by marshmallow or storm by notaker
When I think of FH4's map I keep going back to the term "natural beauty". FH4's map feels realistic while still being fun for the purposes of an arcade game. FH5's map is gorgeous, but I feel like they tried to do too much with it; it feels too much like a playground for me, which in turn gives off an artificial vibe. On another thought, FH4's map gives me FH1 vibes. Ambleside and Broadway remind me of the quiet, homey suburbs of Colorado, so maybe I'm biased and I just like the UK better than Mexico.

Winter has the most dramatic visual changes to the map (which look gorgeous in my opinion) and the slippery roads and ability to drive on the lake make winter the most engaging for the player. I would say, however, I would not enjoy a permanent winter, which is why I love the seasonal system in Horizon 4 so much.

Fh5 is honestly the entire franchise in that game summarized. When it was first released people loved it (fh1) and got better with new highly asked cars and map updates (fh2&3) being added in, then it got stale and the player base dropped (fh4) but then the hot wheels expansion (fh5) came and brought people back before leaving again and now we are seeing the worst updates to Forza ever including Motorsport games too, it is honestly also embarrassing how they also botched the old games to make it squeaky clean E for everyone when the update is about a teen for T video game that’s a 10 year old game in every way is better than the 1 year old game
I agree. I played a lot of FH1 recently and it’s insane how different it is compared to FH5. The map is smaller and there is less to do but it’s still way more fun somehow. I think it’s because the map in fh1 is well thought out and every part is unique and purposeful + the smaller map contributes to a "higher content density". Also cars and events aren’t being thrown at you randomly. races appear in reasonable portions without oversaturating the player. In fh5 I was already overwhelmed by the amount of stuff to do in the first few hours which made me feel like this was more about grinding until the next update than fun. Earning credits and cars is harder in fh1 but more fun and rewarding at the same time because it wakes a sense of progression. Also the dialogues in the story and in the radios were actually fun because it wasn’t written for 5 year old ninja turtle fanboys who started playing fh5 all of a sudden.
Nah but the only thing I absolutely fucking hate about fh5 is the whole map, it just doesnt feel as good as the mountain ranges and peaceful farm fields of scotland. Im sorry but whoever on the devs team chose mexico needs to be fired

Tbh FH4 map is smaller than FH3 (OR IS IT?) since FH4 has 4 seasons and it's the biggest aspect of fh4 (Winter Stan here!) And for me FH4 is... Way chiller and scenic than FH5 which is just loud and idk how to say it. It's just I love it I love both. But FH4's trailer... Made me cry. And My excitement for FH5 is not as big as FH4. I actually liked the winter season in fh4. Fh5 is so boring and dull I went back to fh2, 3 and 4. This is cuz I like to cruise with my wheel. It’s almost impossible to use a wheel in 5 cuz at times my clutch won’t work. In all other games it works. So yeah f5 is dead to me😩
What pisses me off about Horizon 4 is that all cars in the game are nor right hand drive. Like come on UK is right hand drive in real life. Why are they left hand in Horizon 4? Trust me if you been to UK you'll see everyone has right hand drive cars. Even Lambos and BMWs are right hand drive out there.

I feel like FH5 was designed with a mmo playerbase in mind, hundreds of cars, but as it is, it's an empty wasteland, the roads are mostly boring, designed for speed, the technical aspect being a joke mostly. If we look on the upper part of the map, you get the desert on the left side which is a very small part of the whole map, the festival which feels lackluster and more like a drag strip and the volcano mountain (not even active in game. they saved that for the intro and review copies) and the empty stadium, with a ball and no players, they couldn't even be botherd to place a puck during christmas season when the stadium had a hockey field on it. And then there is the citiy, it's boring to drive in and you get easily lost because it's designed again with not racers in mind, but solely for it's artistic value. And the lower half of the map is basically empty farm land, boring as hell, the bridges and the tunnels are mostly straight, complete opposite of FH1 winding downhill roads with tunnels in-between. FH5 wanted to be the biggest map of the series, but they haven't put as much love and design into it, like the other maps. In FH4 I have many favorite driving spots and roads that I could spend hours on and on FH5 it's either the mountain or just driving around once and closing the game. With FH4s map you not only have interesting roads to drive in, the scenery changes accordingly, once you get from the open road from the lakes and take a right turn you drive through a nice winding road through the forest, drive straight forwards and you will come up to a view of the many wind turbines and open plains. Just drive a little more forward and you can choose to drive into the city, out on the highway or down the beach next to the castle. Wherever you drive FH4 feels varied, not only in scenery but color palettes which are also kind of important if that makes sense. In FH5, the whole map has many different biomes, but they don't feel that varied, they don't feel interconnected and more like Minecraft Biomes being placed next to each other with a road going through them. In FH4 the scenery changes naturally, the seasons adding more depth to every place. I also loved snow, people complaining about not being able to drive fast need to get gud.
I agree! I feel like fh5 was designed for an mmo experience like you said but it was executed VERY poorly. With the servers sucking ass and the map having no life too it, it is horrendous. Also if you thought fh4 had all those great things, you need to play fh3. Omg that game has the greatest map in a horizon game and is by far the most diverse and well put together.

I honestly just play FH5 anymore for the weekly playlists. But it all depends on what cars are being added. If there wasn't a shit ton of recycled content in FH5, and a lot more support for the game, then lots of people would still be playing it, but when reused content is brought back, it drives the long time fans away

Honestly I never thought FH4 was the worst. Granted it was my first Horizon game but I really enjoyed it. FH2 was my least favorite in the series because of the forced championships. Maybe FH5 has replaced it but I can at least race anytime I want, but the racing in that game isn’t very exciting compared to 2. You know what, FH2 is no longer my least favorite in the series.
I honestly feel sad for where the franchise is heading to, all the potential the game had and they just decided to recycle everything, they forgot how to make a game feel more than just a game, shame for mexico, such a beautiful place, not so well represented.
Horizon 4 is incredibly buggy for me almost impossible to play online without disconnects mid way through or the game stuck in loading for 15 minutes or spawning under the map
I played every Forza game since FM3, so all 5 Horizon games. For me personally, FH4 is the best of all FH games. I'm still playing it from time to time. FH5 has better graphics, but the map is awful. In FH 4 it was fun to drive on the streets, in FH5 I can drive on road or offroad, no need to use the streets. Cause most of the map is nearly flat and empty, nothing stops you (e.g. trees, small hills). FH1 was new and hot shit, but retroperspective it lacked content. FH2, for me, was FH1 with a different map - I was bored by the gameplay. FH3 was spectacular in presentation, had an amazing map but the festival system was not yet developed. Therefore it lacked content too. Ranking best to worst: FH4 FH3 FH5 FH1 FH2

@@MrZeucho I'll Agree to most of them but Forza Horizon 2 IMO had the best Setting And I haven't played the game but I've seen so many videos and I feel like the map even the small was very thoughtful.The highway is the best coz it connected all of the major cities quite well and the docks and airport were really amazing places to hangout for drifting and Drag racing respectively.I do have a soft spot for it because it was the game that got me hooked to this franchise and FH4 on steam gave me the first opportunity to play and experience Forza Horizon although not at it's best i still love the franchise and I still play FH5 coz it's the cars and the physics.
Fh5 IMO is my favorite horizon game by far, the whole community has been spoiled with updates from fh4 and people always expected fh5 to be the next greatest racing game of all time, and the people who are saying they recycled cars, what do you want them to do? Ik this comment is from almost a year ago and fh5 has improved MASSIVELY in this reguard but the devs used this tactic of reuse and recycle to save money and to keep the game on life support so when it was just about completely dead and pointless they could revive it for a little bit and then the cycle would just repeat

For me it was Autumn it really brought different colours to the game The orange and yellow with leaves on the road it was truly mesmerizing.

And the lower half of the map is basically empty farm land, boring as hell, the bridges and the tunnels are mostly straight, complete opposite of FH1 winding downhill roads with tunnels in-between. FH5 wanted to be the biggest map of the series, but they haven't put as much love and design into it, like the other maps. In FH4 I have many favorite driving spots and roads that I could spend hours on and on FH5 it's either the mountain or just driving around once and closing the game. With FH4s map you not only have interesting roads to drive in, the scenery changes accordingly, once you get from the open road from the lakes and take a right turn you drive through a nice winding road through the forest, drive straight forwards and you will come up to a view of the many wind turbines and open plains. Just drive a little more forward and you can choose to drive into the city, out on the highway or down the beach next to the castle. Wherever you drive FH4 feels varied, not only in scenery but color palettes which are also kind of important if that makes sense. In FH5, the whole map has many different biomes, but they don't feel that varied, they don't feel interconnected and more like Minecraft Biomes being placed next to each other with a road going through them. In FH4 the scenery changes naturally, the seasons adding more depth to every place. I also loved snow, people complaining about not being able to drive fast need to get gud.
I agree! I feel like fh5 was designed for an mmo experience like you said but it was executed VERY poorly. With the servers sucking ass and the map having no life too it, it is horrendous. Also if you thought fh4 had all those great things, you need to play fh3. Omg that game has the greatest map in a horizon game and is by far the most diverse and well put together.

I'm still mad about the pc connectivity issues but at this point I figure it's been done deliberately.
I used to consider FH3 to be the worst when it was the most recent. Until FH4 came out. And here we are, forgiving FH4. That's just how terrible FH5 is.
Man, I know this is random, but thanks to Horizon 4, I can get rid of those ugly spoilers that serve no purpose on the Supra and BNR skyline cars. Those cars look so much better without a spoiler.
I honestly just play FH5 anymore for the weekly playlists. But it all depends on what cars are being added. If there wasn't a shit ton of recycled content in FH5, and a lot more support for the game, then lots of people would still be playing it, but when reused content is brought back, it drives the long time fans away
FH5 is more politically involved than the past horizon games. That's one of the main reasons why I don't play it anymore. I'm currently playing FH3 👌

FH5's car pack feels like a scam. Id rather have 6 new cars every month of 5-6 months than 2 a week which is what FH5 did. I felt like i had more bang for my money in Horizon 3 and 4
Honestly I never thought FH4 was the worst. Granted it was my first Horizon game but I really enjoyed it. FH2 was my least favorite in the series because of the forced championships. Maybe FH5 has replaced it but I can at least race anytime I want, but the racing in that game isn’t very exciting compared to 2. You know what, FH2 is no longer my least favorite in the series.
I played forza horizon four, as honestly have not played horizon five, as loved horizon three that was so much better and immersive?
I honestly feel sad for where the franchise is heading to, all the potential the game had and they just decided to recycle everything, they forgot how to make a game feel more than just a game, shame for mexico, such a beautiful place, not so well represented.
Horizon 4 is incredibly buggy for me almost impossible to play online without disconnects mid way through or the game stuck in loading for 15 minutes or spawning under the map

I played every Forza game since FM3, so all 5 Horizon games.
For me personally, FH4 is the best of all FH games. I'm still playing it from time to time.
FH5 has better graphics, but the map is awful. In FH 4 it was fun to drive on the streets, in FH5 I can drive on road or offroad, no need to use the streets. Cause most of the map is nearly flat and empty, nothing stops you (e.g. trees, small hills).
FH1 was new and hot shit, but retroperspective it lacked content.
FH2, for me, was FH1 with a different map - I was bored by the gameplay.
FH3 was spectacular in presentation, had an amazing map but the festival system was not yet developed. Therefore it lacked content too.

@@MrZeucho I'll Agree to most of them but Forza Horizon 2 IMO had the best Setting And I haven't played the game but I've seen so many videos and I feel like the map even the small was very thoughtful.The highway is the best coz it connected all of the major cities quite well and the docks and airport were really amazing places to hangout for drifting and Drag racing respectively.I do have a soft spot for it because it was the game that got me hooked to this franchise and FH4 on steam gave me the first opportunity to play and experience Forza Horizon although not at it's best i still love the franchise and I still play FH5 coz it's the cars and the physics.
Fh5 IMO is my favorite horizon game by far, the whole community has been spoiled with updates from fh4 and people always expected fh5 to be the next greatest racing game of all time, and the people who are saying they recycled cars, what do you want them to do? Make up new cars, add random traffic cars no one’s gonna drive? No. They reuse the cars people already use and like, they don’t wan’t negative feedback after working to add a car for days, and then no one uses it
Ik this comment is from almost a year ago and fh5 has improved MASSIVELY in this reguard but the devs used this tactic of reuse and recycle to save money and to keep the game on life support so when it was just about completely dead and pointless they could revive it for a little bit and then the cycle would just repeat

I mean fh5 was interesting for a little bit but then just died off so fast. I thought 5 was better than 4 for a while and thought 4 was the worst because it was up to that point in my eyes. However, over the last few months it hasn't been. It's been so bad lately.
