Great explanation , thanks . Maybe the word "slice" itself is misleading, as you are driving the ball rather than slicing it

I guarantee you hit a lot under the ball as you are demonstrating! Not on the slo mo though, but the others...

The thing I have enjoyed at this year's Wimbledon is how much this shot and the forehead slice in that wonderful game between kerber and Maria, when she had a game plan and used both forehand slice and backhand slice,to make kerber generate her own power, and the match involving the 15 year old,the opponent backhand slice tactical masterclass ,that she had to change her. game to power and slice to beat her.

How did you defend against a good slicer where his ball land with depth on a clay court. Should I reslice the ball before it lands to avoid the skidding?

Kinda of risky hitting a slice that’s deep before it lands...let it bounce let it settle get behind it and hit it back with a slice or a topspin.

All BS. The key difference between the two shots is how much forward lean you have in the correct version of your slice. In the incorrect version, you are practically standing up straight. You have to exaggerate the forward lean.

Great video instruction for me . I am a newbie tennis player at age 68 years young. I like the format of your instruction . Especially for me or any recreational player at any level of play. The shadow swing is great to create muscle memory and the drill instruction for hitting with or with out a partner is perfect. Over the past 5 months since a started my tennis journey I have devoted much time and effort to drilling alone, hitting with higher level players, and working with a ATP professional tennis coach. I also, have been invited to paly doubles in my local public court " Old Guy Tennis league . " I'm glad to have found your wonderful tennis instruction. Thank you very much and please keep on rocking us those videos.

I can hit both types of slices. But the slice I personally prefer is The one that floats. I like my slices to float parallel to the ground (not have any loop) and to fly barely above the net .... maybe between 2-4 inches above the net ... no more than 6 inches. It gives most 3.5 to 4.5 players a problem which is the level I play.
