I've listened to this recording here many, many times and still words fail me to express how it makes me feel. Sublime? Intense? what?....just listen...I'll continue with this moment...

is it a viloa or violin that instrument we can't see on the video? I want to see the names of each individual players here. This tracks are one of my lifetime favourite.

So schön! (Aber ich höre eine Hardangerfiedel, die ist nicht im Bild. Warum nicht?)

Hi Eva. Due to Corona restrictions in may Nils Økland couldn't fly to Copenhagen from Norway. So he had to record in a studio I western Norway. An area where the Hardinger Fiddle has its origin.

Can I find the text anywhere? I understand too little with my bit of Danish snapped up while traveling - but what I understand is so beautiful!
To put it another way: Are the texts included with the CD as a booklet?

Yes lyrics are included in Danish and also English poetic translations.

      Danish: | English:
En lysflod løber ud mod horisonten | A river of light flows out towards the horizon
Et flettebånd af skygger, lys og mørke | A braid of shadows, light and darkness
En glitrende vision | A sparkling vision
Læg kun ud på dybet | Only lie out on the deep
Her er du altid allerede ventet | Here you are always already waited
En retning, der forbinder sig til huse | A direction, that connects to houses
Af gæstfrihed og håbefuld forventning | An hospitality and hopeful expectation
Som handling på dit ord | As action on your word
Intet er at frygte | There is nothing to fear
Her er du altid allerede ønsket | Here you are always already wanted
En ring af lys i glober rundt i verden | A ring of light in globes around the world
Et lyshåb, der vil række ud til andre | A light-hope that will reach out to others
Som du har rakt dig selv | As you have handed yourself
Til alt liv på jorden | For all life on earth
Hvor vi er altid allerede elsket | Where we are always already loved
En lysflod løber ud mod horisonten | A river of light flows out towards the horizon
Et flettebånd af skygger, lys og mørke | A braid of shadows, light and darkness
En glitrende vision | A sparkling vision
Læg kun ud på dybet | Only lie out on the deep
Her er du altid allerede ventet | Here you are always already waited
In danish we use compounded words. They solute to beautiful poetic connections of meanings, images and words. E.g. "lyshåb" in the third verse, which is a combination of "light" and "hope". Translated directly to English would be "A bright hope that will reach out to others". "Light-hope" doesn't sound well in English. Creates a bumpy reading flow. However the adjective "bright" serves completely different mental images. Perhaps association the light of hope is of "sharp" quality.
The first iteration of the "always already x"-structure could be translated to "always already expected". But the word "expected" makes me think of "expectations", an image not contained in the Danish word. Therefore I chose "waited".
