- Lidia has garnered quite the reputation in Mango Park. As head of the Neighborhood Watch she believes it is her duty to patrol the area around her home. One day she sees a man trying to open the door to the Pendelton's home. She takes video of him with her phone, then confronts the man and threatens to call the police. Unbeknownst to her, the man is not a thief, he's just a locksmith. Mr. and Mrs. Pendleton are not on vacation; they are inside and Mr. Pendleton decides to finally put this busybody in her place.

INSTEAD OF TALKING TO THE LOCKSMITH AND FINDING OUT WHAT HE WAS THERE FOR, SHE JUST ASSUMED THAT HE WAS BREAKING INTO THE HOUSE BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK. SHE COULD ALSO GET AHOLD OF THE RESIDENT AND TALK TO HIM.
Yeah the proper reaction would be 1) Ask what he’s doing? and 2) Ask for some identification. To be honest a good indication that he wasn’t up to no good was that he didn’t flee like a bat out of hell when she confronted the locksmith. 🤦

I can relate to what’s going on, on this video because I am African American myself and I went to a party on this one neighborhood my cousin used to live on and just because the color of our skin one racist ass white person instantly called the cops without talking to anyone so he can know what’s going on and so he can know that there’s nothing to worry about. But the instant you start waving that mace around, well, my grandfather used to say there's a time and place for a good solid punch in the nose, and you seem like a perfect candidate.
