A very insightful talk on Harmony by Ajahn Brahm.I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for clearing up the differences between Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism. I always wondered what made them different.First time it was explained clearly.
Thank you Ajahn Brahm, I listen to you often and I know you've helped me be more peaceful, kind and open. You've given a path of happiness and love to many people.
@Sheenarea84 I agree. Only some two thousands people watch it and they like it. I share this with my friends regardless of their religious background. This is very simple and beneficial for mankind. In broad sense, Harmony and Peace are always supporting each other and the rest follow. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much, but I can't take any credit!.. I am a devotee of Krsna, and I simply follow the Vedic understanding. Like so many others on here, I also get great inspiration from AB's wonderful talks!
Great anecdote about the old woman vegetable seller in Taiwan who quietly donated millions to charity while living a simple frugal life and was written up in Forbes magazine .
Ajahn Brahm was born so that I can hear the teachings of the Lord Buddha. “ AB and the forest way is ...neither traditions ... neither Mahayana or Theravada/Hinayana !...” Excellent ! But,,,, Wanting to get off this “hamster wheel” is not being selfish. The hamster runs happily on that wheel thinking that it’s going somewhere. But if it saw himself, it would see that he’s not going anywhere....LOL. Once you’ve seen and realized the truth about the illusion of our existence, you too will want to get off the roller coaster (the hamster wheel) that we call life.
This is one of the fame-use story among Turks and Muslims. 4 old men where Love, Peace, Wealth and Success. They invited Love. -Strange thing is Peace, Wealth, Success and Love all old men.
yes, we are all out for harmony...but when our own existence is threatened by the other party, we need to deal with it right? how to keep saying for harmony sake you kill me?
“... Sacrifice myself for others ? .... “ I don’t think so! Siddhartha Gautama didn’t sacrifice himself for his wife and son. I might for my mother, brother and sister.
@iamgoddard To live in harmony with outside world & other ppl, human must have peace inside him. But if something moves him, like not peaceful ideas & beliefs, human tries to change outside world and influence others. So you need to invite peace ( inside you ) first to have some harmony. :) -maybe I don`t clearly understand English words.
You talks help me understand Buddhism a lot better and move on my path.
i wish if i can come to Perth to listen to your talks in live for my life time. thank you for teaching
