Jon jones is the greatest mma fighter ever I’ve learned alot from watching his fights my first 2 fights i was not that good of a striker but i love to strike and it was me watching jon jones fight and understand that if you have a high fightIQ you can slove every puzzle
The so called "oblique kick" is a Savate technique called "chasse frontal bas" or "chasse italien". Bruce Lee incorporated it in Jet Kun Do, and from there probably Jon took it. The technique performed by Jon is perfect from a Savate point of view. The same goes for the side kick to the knee, another Savate kick incorporated by Bruce Lee, called "chasse lateral bas"
The grip on the duplex is of course foundational, but the perfect technique is in JJ won’t try the duplex until he has Bonnar sucked all the way back up against him. That extra clinch is what would prevent so many people from pulling it off without endangering themselves.
