Jason (2003) i'd rather watch that one than anything Jason Goes To Hell, or X,

I always love that Tommy Jarvis is canonically supposed to be 15 or 16 in Part 5, and he's played by an actor who was 25 at the time. And that the actress playing Ethel is the same age as Junior. The casting was perfect for this film.
I didn't like Part 5 when I was younger, but I gotta say, it's grown a bit on me. It's always supported my own head canon that Crystal Lake it'self is indeed cursed, or at the very least draws out the inner homicidal killer in certain people, be they middle aged mothers, their deformed son, or a grieving father.
That's actually quite interesting. I think I'd have liked it better if they'd gone in this direction rather than having Jason as the killer all the time.
I don't think I've seen many Snob episodes from his first couple of years. The oldest I've seen were some reposts on League of the Super Critics and the Best of videos on this channel.

And and this is years late, but that picture of Jason that Roy had from the newspaper? It was a still photo from security camera footage of when Jason escaped that Hospital at the start of Part 4. It wasn't someone taking his picture, it was camera footage paused.
I don't think it's mentioned in Part 6 openly, but apparently someone bribed the Funeral Home into burying Jason and then saying they cremated him to keep people from going after the grave. It was supposed to be Elias Voorhees, his dad and Pamela's husband.
What I've noticed is that Roy's (The supposed antagonist) motivation to kill is exactly similar to Mrs. Voorhees'(Antagonist of the first movie). Both of these characters punish the bystanders of a particular tragedy to which they are personally connected.

Loomis mistakenly goes after Ben Tramer, who happens to be dressed in a similar costume as the Shape, and Ben Tramer is hit and killed by a speeding police car. For a while in the film the police speculate that the young man killed indeed had been Michael Myers, but Loomis insists that they check the body just to be sure. As it turns out, it is the corpse of Ben Cramer, not the Shape, and so Ben Tramer could not have been the murderer in the subsequent Halloween films.

I have found that the best way to watch Friday the 13th Part V is to accept that it is told not from Tommy's perspective, but rather from his perception of the world after being in a mental institute and likely doped up much of the time he was there. That would explain the over-the-top nature of this film. It is also worth noting that Roy's story mirrors that of Pamela Voorhees in the most relevant way; Child killed while those meant to keep an eye on him were otherwise occupied.

Happy Friday the 13th Brad! I decided to watch this review on Friday the 13th today! Yeah this was one of the first of the "Friday the 13th" movies I did catch on HBO once, but it also became the first of the Friday the 13th movies I rented when I was allowed to rent them. While I didn't like the prospect of Jason not being the killer, I do think its cool to see this movie getting more fans ala "Halloween 3". Kinda interesting how these two movies parallel to one another, in that each installment wanted to go into a different direction, but failed with the public. If I were to watch this installment again, I would view it more a a stand alone movie that just has the misfortune of having "Part V" in the title. Basically I'd consider it the "Halloween 3" of the franchise.
True, I’m one of the few that love it, personally for me it’s the last one that really feels like an F13. Once we got to Zombie Jason there were a lot of changes to the score, and the white out transitions were stopped.
I still remember seeing a screenshot on the back of the VHS box that actually depicts the axe/machete connecting with Junior's throat and a really goofy look on his face. I was so bummed that it wasn't actually in the movie.

Supposedly Roy was embarrassed of Joey so he put him in that halfway house because of how he was. Then when he learned of Joey's death, he felt intense guilt and regret. I can't remember where I read this though

I find it hilarious that they tried "changing up the series" in 1985, THREE YEARS after Halloween 3 tried that and was such a financial and critical failure. The producers didn't learn anything.
Funny story.... I heard Pseudo Echo's Living In A Dream when I was very young and really liked it, then I heard their remake of Funky Town and really liked that too... I always thought Violet's dancing to this song here was so odd but I liked the song she was dancing to.... Which just happens to be His Eyes by Pseudo Echo. One day a few years later I was watching this movie again all the way through the credits and I was like, "Pseudo Echo.... Why does that name sound so familiar???? Holy shit! They did Living In A Dream!" Went out the next day to a local music store and found their cassette tape and then found a few more of them later and have been a fan for basically the last 35 years!
This films Ben Tramer would be the crewmember in Part 8 (the one where Jason travels to New York on a cruise ship) who's mistakenly shot by Wayne, the camera guy.
That mental health treatment place seems like it would have been the site of a horror movie even without not-Jason showing up. A bunch of mentally unbalanced people with no supervision and access to tools, yeah whats the worst that can happen? I'd wonder if the camp was a labor camp using rubber roomers as free labor.
It's funny that all the kills in this movie (and all the kills in the rest of the movies after this one when you think about it) happened because someone offered someone else a candy bar lol.

This films Ben Tramer would be the crewmember in Part 8 (the one where Jason travels to New York on a cruise ship) who's mistakenly shot by Wayne, the camera guy.

That mental health treatment place seems like it would have been the site of a horror movie even without not-Jason showing up. A bunch of mentally unbalanced people with no supervision and access to tools, yeah whats the worst that can happen? I'd wonder if the camp was a labor camp using rubber roomers as free labor.
I think this is the movie my buddy and I (at age 11) got in trouble when my dad caught us watching it and he probably thought it was a porn. xD
