Redman was so dope, especially for 1992. This is a classic song and album. The video for this song is great, too. Eminem was heavily influenced by Redman and has Red in his top 5 MC's.
Redman was one of my favorite rappers growing up and still is up there all time for me, he can be rugged and comedic at the same time, rough around the edges yet personable, i find him relatable in that way
The craziest thing is most rappers lose the voice they once had when they were younger. Redman's been chain smoking blunts for 30+ years and just released some new content... and his voice sound exactly the same! Lol. His delivery was always one of his strengths as a rapper and he still got it
-This was the jam!!! You need to check out the video for it. Redman was always a rough rugged and VERY lyrical MC. When he and Method Man teamed up, it was like a dream made in heaven. Reds songs draw you in. You feel like you are sitting on the couch with him, smoking a blunt, just bullish!tting. Red is a national treasure, still releasing stuff today. He influenced many MCs, most notably Eminem.. -Yes, the female is Hurricane G. She just passed away, well almost a year ago in November. She was 52. Lung Cancer.
Hurricane G was the woman talking on the song. She also does some great shit-talking on P. Diddy's (Puff Daddy's) 1999 song, "P.E. 2000." Also glad to hear you're liking Redman's stuff - still crossing my fingers for a reaction to him & Em's "Off the Wall" song, that whole song is bonkers
@@ABoomerReacts That would be literally 2 months after "The Marshall Mathers LP" came out - it was on the "Nutty Professor 2 Soundtrack." But in Redman's catalogue, it's 2 years after his "Doc's Da Name 2000" album
"Let's get dirty" was a radio hit from him. It was big but got bigger once Christina Aguilera ripped it off and made "Dirrty". On the bright side, she had the decency to at least feature Redman on the song and in the video. Same beat.
Hell yeah! I always used to bump the whole CD back in day, I love this song, plus I'm a Rick James fan, he produced the Mary Jane Girls. I got a bunch of rap cds in mail through Columbia House back in the day, this was one of them. I got another CD by the Artifacts, that was a cool one. 40 and a Blunt is another good song by Das FX. This song just brought back a bunch of memories. He and Method Man made a movie called How High, it's a funny one, his skits on his albums are pretty funny too.
Thanks, Auntoneyo! The only Mary Jane Girls song I know is In My House and I have always loved it. Here are the 2 Artifacts songs on my list: Wrong Side of the Tracks and Lower da Boom. Thoughts?
@@ABoomerReacts Lower Da Boom, that's more of my style, I think you'll dig it. I had to listened to them again, I really haven't listened to them since the 90s. All Night Long is the name of that song, alot of rappers sampled it.
@@ABoomerReacts Actually I changed my mind, Who's dis or The Ultimate, I was listening to their albums the other day since its been a while. Lower Da Boom is still good though.
Let me correct: "Time 4 Sum Aksion". Please add this to your list. This is the most "basic" Redman song from the same album like "Tonight's Da Night" - the first solo album of Redman... called "Whut? Thee Album". I was 12 when I first heard the song and watched the video on Yo! MTV Raps. That is in my TOP3 favorite tracks of all-time! It is a highly energetic and dynamic track! (It was Mike Tyson's entrance music...)
Redman isn't the most skilled rapper, not the most "important", not the most intelligent or insightful...but he's probably my favorite. So fun and dynamic and full of personality.
@@ABoomerReacts "A Day Of Sooperman Lover" is from Redman's first album. "Sooperman Luva II" is from his second album, and "Soopaman Luva 3" is from his third album (called 'Muddy Waters').
sup boomer, about a year ago I suggested to listen to elevators by outkast, was wondering if you've heared the song by now? and if you have, what did you think of it?
Love this joint. RIP Hurricane G.

I agree. His flow is very conversational. I have reacted to Method Man and Redman before. Check out my playlist called Wu Tang Universe.
Great reaction. Red is active right now and is doing weekly drops of him rapping over other artists beats. Its great!
Thanks!

I’m glad the suggestion was dope. The chorus jumbo was just redman roasting people like “dirty neck having ass” “extra toe having ass”
If you're roasting someone with that line, what does it mean?

The Sooperman series on most of his albums is a fun listen, starting with the ine on this album.

"Brick City Champion"

Thanks, Damon! I'll add it to my list.
Rest in peace Hurricane G. It was her.
Song samples A Few More Kisses To Go by Isaac Hayes
Thanks for the info. I like Isaac Hayes but I'm not familiar with that song.
Redman is another comedian disguised as a rapper. But that is just my opinion he is awesome and just so funny and entertaining
I would love to see you react on words of wisdom by Tupac. That song is long before death row . It's from the album 2pacalypse 1991.
Thanks! It's def on my list.

Ah. The only song I know by them is In My House. I've always loved that song.
I cannot phathom how you haven't reacted to "Del Tha Funkee Homosapien" yet.. Or maybe you did?
Either way you should do "If You Must" by him.
