I'm Norwegian... I always find it funny how some brands think their logos/ brandnames will be cooler if they put dots or lines over their O-s, Like MØNSTER... In Norwegian, where we actually use an Ø as a separate vowel, this changes the word. So when I see the MØNSTER cans, I read that as "Pattern", because mønster = pattern. And in Norway, if someone refers to you as a mønsterborger, you are the perfect citizen, that fits perfectly in society. So if you drink MØNSTER, you are a conformist that blends into society... Not so tough anymore, ha!

@@AztecWarrior69 I don't see how you got that out of my comment. I think languages are very cool, my own included. I love the fact that you can change a single letter - or sometimes even the intonation, and that completely changes the meaning! In my comment i am mocking brands who do not understand that by taking a letter - in this case a Scandinavian letter - you change the meaning of the word you intended to use. I could get really offended and called it cultural appropriation by the brand, but I choose instead to see the humour in it.

My husband is an English major. He edits news articles in his head as he reads them. And yes, he finds a lot more errors than he should.
I am in my final year of school (entering uni next year) and have been correcting my teacher's spelling and grammar mistakes for years. I am mostly right (don't see this as me bragging, I am not. I just find it sad).
Yeah, that’s what journalists love the most…You often can’t see your own mistakes, especially if you have worked on a text for hours. Plus the workload increased so much over the past 25 years that nobody has the time to switch texts with colleagues. Two people should proofread but that just doesn’t happen anymore. There used to be professionals who just corrected all the articles but they have been fired 25 years ago. Plus brains work differently: some people see the whole word so they are less likely to notice an error. Some see every letter, like your husband obviously does.
The majors like ABC news are horrible. I sometimes have to read an article two or three times to even figure out what they mean. No copy editing. (I used to be a copy editor.)
My first bachelor’s degree was in English as well and it is shocking to me how many spelling and grammar errors make it into published articles!
I ran the copy desk at my college newspaper. Everyone told me to not try to do it professionally because the field is dying; news outlets think that it's an unnecessary expense. I think about that every time I read the news.
Guilty of not reading the room! A woman texted me to let me know my boyfriend asked her out and instead of thanking her appropriately, I asked her to send me the texts. In my mind I wanted to confront him with it but I can now see she must have been thinking I was saying “ prove it “. I regret not clearing that up and am eternally thankful to this kind woman for her help.

Christopher columbus didnt actually discover America. It was already occupied by native Americans having arrived by land 1000s of years earlier. Vikings had set up a settlement in Canada and there is quite a lot of evidence that the polynesians had already been there. Columbus was a lost sailor who accidently found the bahamas and never actually set foot on the contenent. He sailed to the islands on 4 seperat occasions had his spanish settlement rebel against him because he was such a crap leader and died thinking he had found a new route to Asia. Can you really be credited with discovery of americas if you dont realise the land you discovered was not asia?

None of the groups you mention resulted in the rest of the world (not just Europe) realizing there was another land mass there. Accidentally or not. I realize you’re trying hard to be a good woke person, but this constant correction isn’t a realistic response. The guy was an ass, no kidding. So were the many natives living in NA that burned European women and children to death (who also didn’t have a choice to be there) or raped and murdered them and kept white and black slaves.

I love how you "make a fool of yourself everyday" it shows confidence. People in life are always wanting or willing to "shoot" someone down because they're not happy about something someone has said or done. They need to get over themselves, life is for living, don't change who you are for anyone because you are who you are.
Disrespecting a grave yard is the ultimate crime. That's unforgivable.
Not only is it wrong...but I'd be terrified the ghost of that person would haunt me for the rest of my life.

True story of reading the room: my dad had just passed away a few weeks ago. I’m in the ICU still with him sitting about three feet away. Word got around fast. I don’t remember the exact time frame but someone, who knew both me (I went to hs with him) and my father, called about 20 minutes after. I just said hi and asked how he knew so fast. Long story short, he wanted in my pants (later on that night) while my deceased father lay a few feet from me. I hope for his sake that he was punched in the head by a gorilla and not in the right state of mind.

@@saralynn518 There are men who will do anything to get into a woman’s pants, and they don’t seem to realise that the way that they behave towards women can significantly reduce their chances of actually achieving that.
If they focused more on respecting women for the individuals that they are, then a lot more women would be interested in them.
I personally like women very much as people, and have many wonderful female friends.
I find that my female friends are so supportive and caring. I love conversation with them, and have learnt so much from them. They inspire me often.
When it comes to love, I have been truly blessed.
Firstly with my late wife. We had such a deep and loving relationship for 18 years.
She was an incredible woman. She was intelligent, creative, loving, supportive, caring, my soul mate, my play mate (as in games), and my best friend.
When she became disabled I gave up my business and became her full time caregiver. I am so glad that I did, as it gave us so much extra quality time together.
She passed away nearly 4 years ago, and my love for her is infinite.
Since she passed away, I have fallen in love with another woman, who is now my girlfriend. She is another wonderful woman, and our relationship is also very loving and deep.
I never intended to find another relationship after my wife, although it is something my wife wanted very much for me.
She even went as far as writing a list of potential women that she thought would “protect my heart.”
She loved me so very much, that she wanted to make sure that I would be emotionally supported after she was gone. She knew that she was dying.
My girlfriend was actually the woman who was at the top of my wife’s list. So I know she would be so happy for me.
I never realised that it was possible to love two women at the same time, but I could never stop loving my wife.
Sorry to have rambled on so much, but it is fast approaching the anniversary of my wife’s passing, and I like to talk about her, a lot.
She is in my heart always.

I used to bartend in San Francisco and got a LOT of people asking me about London and England being separate/ the same countries, a lot. I also got complimented for learning English so quickly after moving to America (I'm English, I sound like Elizabeth Hurley so it's a pretty easy to recognise my accent) several times over the years. I got asked if I lived in a castle in England more often than anything else though, I thought it was incredibly sweet people have that view of England.

In Europe, we go to University, not to college :)
In the states we have Universities and Community Colleges. Universities are 4 years Community College is 2 years ... well supposed to be I supposed it depends on who is paying for your education. It might take longer for some.
I'm the UK we have college and university. I guess that's more similar to the states then if the rest of Europe doesn't use the word college.
We have vocational school, higher occupational school and University.
Tgere are 8ndeed colleges in Europe and in the UK .. generally they are part of Universities.

By your logic... none of the elements on the periodic table were discovered. No animal was ever discovered. No civilization was ever discovered. Nothing of importance to the world was really discovered, since, by your logic, they weren't really missing.

Implants and other types of medical equipment , have serial numbers on them. when put into the database it brings up the medical information of who it belongs to. It’s actually very helpful when having to identify joe/Jane does.

It's actually possible to be Lesbian and still be straight.
All you have to do is be a native of Lesbos. And yes, there is a connection with the general word "lesbian" and the demonym for Lesbos (although sometimes "Lesbosian" is also used).
In short, there was a Greek poet from Lesbos, called Sapphos, who is a well known as a symbol of love and desire between women. Long story short, the word "sapphic" comes from her name.
That wolf one, made me laugh so hard. As a goth it made me think of things that "baby bats" (people just getting into goth) would say. Yes, I also had those kinds of sentiments when I was in my "baby bat" stage, fortunately for me that was through the mid to late 80s, there wasn't social media so I didn't post them for the world to see because now I realize how ridiculous that thought process really is and would be so embarrassed for it to be out there for the entire world to see. I understand trying to distinguish yourself from others and be unique or special or even try to sound badass in some way, but you don't do that through sentiments, ideologies, words, or anything like that, you do it through your actions and how you present yourself to others.
There are many times I am glad that there wasn't any social media. I was an idiot as a kid.. 😅
