Shame the music is overtaking the joy of the cars !

If I want to hear music, I go to a music channel. Sorry- I want to hear the cars, please.

Each to their own, Philip. It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things, wouldn't it? Oh, and a sense of fair play prompts me to point out that other people's music-less videos are available! :-)

Sorry lads i'm with Philip, nlo,Albert,Adow,Murray,MVM, on this one. No harm done though, we all make mistakes.. Thankyou for the video anyhew!

Classic Car TV - Philip and Philpott are right: By including music you will 'offend' some people, because they either dislike your choice of music or because they've visited your site to hear and experience the cars and don't want it obscured by music, whatever genre or style; if you omit the music you offend no-one at all.

Sorry, @@nat11911, but this film was a personal project. I like music running in the background on a video like this where there is no commentary, so that's the way it will stay! As I said elsewhere, other videos are available.

@@classiccartvfilms That's fair enough if you want to do it that way, but if the 'hit-count' on your videos is important then I think it'll reduce the number of folk who play/watch/thumbs-up right to the end. I'm pretty sure that a viewer interested in the video content will continue to watch even if there isn't any accompanying music, whilst a viewer interested in the video content but doesn't want the music will in many cases hit the back button and find another video. Anyway, nice little film - thanks!

Great video. Is this available without the added music? For me, music is the the sound of the engines.

Really excellent video, but the music was intrusive.

Why Oh Why do you put that stupid back ground racket on when we [most people] would like to hear the noise of the engines etc,.?????

+Albert Jeffrey Smith it sets the scene. the cars sound amazing i must admit but with the music, the different camera angles and all the joyous smiles it just really makes the video so beautiful. i almost cried watching it

Great video. You have some great, vintage cars, pleasant music, some knarly, old Brits, a gruesome woman staring the camera to a standstill, some cute girls fooling around and a couple of gratuitous bum shots at the end. Marvelous !

Exactly, thank you some one else gets it. There's a certain magic that happens with all of this, to keeping Pre War motors and motorsport alive and well over a century later. I know for me there's a love in bringing my MG's back from the dead, assembled from boxes and baskets and getting them back on the road. I think this music really brings out that love from the gearheads and enthusiasts here. Some people can't appreciate that I suppose.

Once again, Vince, you've totally captured the incomparable atmosphere of these VSCC events. What you seem to achieve is the visual equivalent of actually being there, wandering around, peering at the miraculous vehicles and the good folk who love and live for them ... as a regular spectator, I invariably find myself drifting into a sort of day-long reverie: the lovely surroundings, the friendly vibes, the sounds and smells, a pint at lunchtime among approachable competitors ... your films achieve the same effect (minus the olfactory element, sadly!) ... you have a very acute eye for the nuances and details: the constant tweaking and 'fettling' of the cars, the chat and repartee, the happiness and contentment that pervade these unique events. Brilliant. Please do more. And this needs to be available on the VSCC website forum - I'll post a link. Thankyou, Vince.

You are very kind, Andrew. I genuinely love the atmosphere at these events. It's tricky just wandering around with a camera and trying to get decent quality footage, but I won't pretend that I don't enjoy it!

Vince, there's now a link to the film on the Forum of the VSCC website, and it's getting very favourable feedback from members. People really appreciate your fresh impressionistic approach, so I - and other club members, for sure - hope you do more in the future.

+Andrew Hawkey Thanks, Andrew. The Loton and Prescott videos are now also featured on the VSCC Facebook page, which is great. I certainly plan to do more. I should be at Goodwood, for the Sprint event, for example.

This delightful film captures the atmosphere of a VSCC event better than any I have seen. It took me right back to the beginnings of my love affair with vintage cars in the early 1960s when an impecunious young man could run a 1920s car as his only transport and even drive it up to London occasionally. My one and only VSCC award, a third class in the Light Car Rally of 1964, based at the Wilton Carpet Factory, sits on my desk as I type. I only hope that Covid restrictions will enable the VSCC to resume a full programme of events in 2021. This film has made me determined to go to as many as I can, and Loton Park will be top of my list.
