Todays code "DIDIWIN" (these codes were a bad idea lol)

Quick suggestion, plug some dummy connectors in your switch to prevent dust in your unused port.

The network stuff, even on a small scale, has been fun to watch. It'd be cool to see a little series on setting up dedicated servers in 2022 for older games that still let you do that.

All this server stuff went way over my head, but I really enjoyed watching Jay cut the bottom off the door. I'm a simple man.

Seeing the Star Wars builds sitting next to your server rack really makes me want to see you make custom side panels for your Startech rack.

I like your rack. Chose the same one! And I look forward to seeing your naming convention once you add a second server lol

my dad sells carpets, and he basically employed me to go to the houses that installed thicker carpets and trim their doors the same way. i clamp down a guide, i put painters tape over where the cut will be to prevent splinters and chipping the paint, cut it with saw, and install it back for them.

I recommend a robot vacuum for your office since you are installing carpet. You can have it run on a schedule and get one of those auto empty bin/self cleaning ones! Works great!

He could make his own panels for the rack from perspex and fit some 180mm/200mm RGB Fans and filter. So it looks like a giant pc!

I watch nearly all of your videos and although I have no interest in servers, I do love seeing the progress you guys are making. And after that intro, I'm watching this entire video. GOOD LUCK WITH THE REMODEL. I hope it turns out even better than y'all hope.

Hey, pro tip: If you're ever cutting MDF or any wood with a laminate coating on it, do a single layer of painter's tape covering the area you're cutting. MUCH cleaner cut.

Does he forget the code again? It’s like it’s own form of a mini hunt.

Since you're using the ASUS router as your management, you can always expand by adding another switch. The other way you could have went is using the Cloud router/switch in its router mode, and setting the ASUS into AP mode.

I've built out a bunch of racks over the years, installed tons of servers and I've done boatloads of wiring, you did a great job. I prefer using Velcro for cable ties instead of the zip ties but it's only because I'm constantly fiddling with cables or there's a high potential of moving/changing/adding/removing cables but if it's never gonna be moved or messed with then zip ties are perfectly fine. Again though, nice job, well done!

I'm glad to see the server dedicated videos. It's getting to the point at my job where a more professional network/server solution may be on the horizon. Right now I've got a Frankenstein computer acting as a data backup (for our remote data) and a SQL server for a new database and accompanying program I've been writing.
