  • This 3.7 mile hike takes us along the high bluffs looking down to the bottoms below, with views from the top of Jackson Falls, around a vast wilderness with excellent overlooks. We circle down through the bottoms and will gaze up the huge rock formations that tend to draw a lot of climbers to their near vertical faces, and end up beneath one of the many beautiful falls located in the Shawnee National Forest.

      There is a shorter way.. from the main fall go left and follow the trail about a half mile. Shortly after the wooden foot bridge there is a downdraw people call "the dogwalk".. it is the rock collapse that he went up near the end of the video. Then just backtrack along the bottom. Be careful the place is filled with rock climbers

    • @GetOutadventure
      @GetOutadventure  4 роки тому

      Mikeycat Outdoors thanks for watching, you would need to stay on the main trail instead of veering left over the waterfall, it’s about a 3 mile loop trail I believe. I think we took our time and did it in an 1 1/2- 2 hrs.

      @@GetOutadventure Thanks. I got there in the evening hours and walked a lil bit on both branches. I stayed closer to the trailhead but far enough away from other campers when I was there in July. I went to Bell Smith in the morning so I never got to explore the bottom area. I saw a few rock climbers down there around 8pm when I was setting up camp. I want to go back and explore it some more

    Hey maybe can help me i am thinking of going down next year when save up money to see Metropolis etc i cant go down those roads in Google Earth, did you come from Ozark and there is signs for Burden Falls, Jackson falls and the other falls so there is signs as go down the .. horrible gravel road? i just dont wanna get lost back there and was that falls you saw there that was possibly .3 mi of a walk like did it take u 10 mins uthink or how much u think it took you just i cant see down that road so when plan it its one of few areas i have no idea if signs so there is signs? for all 3 ? Bell Smith, Jackson and Burden ? or did you see the other 2 any help on either of these be help like said there no street view down there its the only area i cant see or notice but did you also come from Ozark as another question or another town like Eddyville or so i was thinking Ozark best route when i go down. But just hope it dont take too long to get to the falls cus we have limited time when do to see everything i have planned in day and half first day is get down there in 5 hours to Metropolis and some other spots but i wanna get any good but quick views of all 3 if possible or 2 but hmm so damn gravel ...
