Hi everyone! OKKO adventures here 😊 Do you know what keeps the heart of Lisbon and Portugal pumping? It's the district of Belém! It is the site of maritime legends, the birthplace of the pastel de nata (aka pastel de Belém 😉) -custard tart and home of some of Portugal’s most important museums and monuments.
During Portugal's Age of Discovery in the 15 century, the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama set sail for India and returned with riches from afar that helped establish Portugal as a global power.

☀️ Eat a pastel de nata or two.
We recommend heading to Pastéis de Belém, which is rated the best place to try them. It is a family-owned bakery that uses the original recipe first created by monks in the monastery next door. Definitely worth it!
