Job well done, mate. I know how good this car is because I own one. It's well built, good looking, reliable and a real sleeper. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds (in comfort). I've always said that I wouldn't swap my SLK for anything - but that metallic blue... 😍
Brilliant job Phil! I was screaming at the screen when you were taking the wing off to get the wheel and washer bottle off so you could get the wing off! SLK’s are not really my cup, but anything with an AMG badge on, is! We definitely heard that final “blip” ! Keep ‘em comin’! JCHK
Best thing about this SLK55 is the Colour Phil. Your a braver man than me I can tell ya. Those wheels must be aftermarket. Even staggered wheels share same size bolts. 👍
Always liked the Merc SLK, one of the few cars with a folding metal roof that still managed to look good. Didn't know they did a "performance" version sounds great and looks really good. Good rebuild despite it testing your patience!
I’ve quite literally followed your lead. I found your channel when you repaired the white C63 and I got one with very similar damage and was able to fix it thanks this your video and then I found the first video of this SLK55 and loved it and now I’ve bought one again with similar damage and with the same colour. It is quite a stunning car and I can’t wait to drive it. Only question I have is, where did you find a front bumper for this?
If I remember from my mechanical engineering classes (40 years ago so forgive me if incorrect) the length of bolt .. retaining the object .. should be equal to, or greater than, it's diameter. Ie .. m12 bolt needs 12mm of thread located in the hole. The thread count is irrelevant.
@@SeriousAboutSalvage Cheers Phil. You made a lovely job of that one - let me know if you want to fix up a Z4 😁😁. I really appreciate your videos and the way you present. It would be good if you filmed some of the jobs in real time so we could see the detail, but it's your channel, and still very watchable. 👍
You would never believe that car is 17 years old Phil and mighty nice looking car , well done and another one out the door 👌🏻, oh and Phil we all know your HOT !!!! Oh you mean that HOT 🥵😂😂😉.
What a car, I know what these are worth.Should fetch around 17-18 K with 63k miles so what an investment at say 9k all in as long as not recorded. Had one 4 years just carnt move on, when the taps are fully open these are not for the faint hearted really quick machine.
This is one beautiful car, well done Phil, you’ve brought it back to life😊.
Look at the new wings to find all of the bolt holes 🤔

Any chance of a mini update please ?
Another great video!! Thank you!! I really like that colour would you know the name of it or the paint code number?
Very interesting
Can you tell me where you got the bonnet repaired? My Z4 needs the same! It's aluminium and I can't find anyone in the Midlands who wants to fix it.
Just local body shop, bonnet on these is steel mate
