Rarran making the rule set and then playing Sonya Rogue who's entire purpose is bouncing cards back and using spells and minions each turn is the most Rarran thing imaginable
The biggest problem with this ruleset is playing meta decks for it. If they make a wacky ruleset, they should build decks for it to really explore the rules.
@@MrShukaku1991 Nah, then the rules wouldn't matter. "I built a Deck that uses only spells/minions (something pretty doable in Hearthstone) and am unaffected by the rules" isn't really a fun video.
@@Lysvsyl Yeah the ruleset was lacking "and you can't choose the same type twice in a row" or something like that to make it interesting to build around.
While the plays were certainly suboptimal, don't let that distract you from how uninspired the deck choices were, how did no one think to bring spell mage?
Idea: Hearthstone, but only 1 minion type and 1 spell type per deck (e.g Mech frost mage, demon fire warlock, beast arcane hunter, etc... U would only be able to use minions from the tribe you choose plus spells from that specific spellschool you chose)
Try a ruleset where you have to skip turns to gain mana crystals. So you both start at being allowed to use 1 crystal, and every time you end your turn before taking an action, the amount of your crystals you can use increases by 1.
This probably doesn't matter because it wouldn't make for good content except for one time as a bit, but with the current rule set if you have lethal in hand with spells/minions etc. you could just go for it since there is no next turn.
a mix of this idea with the tribal warfare one: you have to build decks entirely out of different minion subtypes and spell schools. duplicates of the same card are allowed, but each minion must be of a different subtype and each spell of a different school, with "all subtypes" and no subtype being considered a subtype each, and no spell school being considered a spell school, so you can only have 1 subtypeless and one spell-school-less card in each deck
the even cooler lethal would have been to kill salesman with the pumpkin and then triggering the primus' last ability to kill rarran with a free 3 dmg snake oil
Great video, I think there's a lot to explore with formats like this where you're forced to play your cards a specific way. What do you think about a ruleset where you have to alternate between playing minion / non-minion ? So you need to make a balanced deck, and you also need to balance the number of minions and non-minions in your hand
Title reads like you can only use 1 spell, 1 unit, 1 weapon, 1 whatever per turn, instead of "If you cast 1 spell, you can only cast spells this turn" Edit: nvm you just changed the title
Maybe try reverse of this challenge next? So you only could play each type once? IDK how actualy different this would be from default hearthstone game, because other than combo decks I don't this it matter THAT much... Or maybe try something like "type rotation/astrology/IDK how to call it challenge"? When each player would get an "order line", for example "Minion/Spell/Other". And you MUST circle around it. So first you would play minion, then you need to play spell, then location, weapon or hero (IDK about this... on one hand it would be interesting to see how this lock could be overcomed, on the other HS sadly doesn't has as much of "other" stuff as, for example, MTG...),then minion, then spell... And keep order between turns... OR maybe even use shared order line, so if you played minion and end turn - then other player are on "spells"? (or they could end turn and now you on "spells") Oh, and maybe I find a solution for Other - you could count "hero power" for it. So this way its more interesting than "Minion-Spell-Minion-Spell", but not that punishing?

It only took 2:42 for Rarran to break the rules 😭 EDIT : Okay i'm confused, weren't the rules supposed to be only one spell, one minion, one location, one weapon, one hero card per turn ? Ah I went back and rewatched the intro. It’s not one of each type per turn, but can only play of one type for the whole turn. So one turn can only play spells, or minions but not both
The premise for this wasn't very interesting to me. Not saying the video is bad, it's still fun to watch because of the amusing banter. But I kinda got bored 2 thirds in and usually I watch most Rarran vids with full attention all the way to the end.

So for example at 7:51 Roffle played 2 locations, which is fine. But if he played for example, a location and a larger and larger man that would be cheating. Not sure if he did that sort of thing and I missed it, but the title being misspelled seems to have confused a lot of people
