- In this video I go over how the Truck Camper mounts to the bed of the truck being made out of foam, and how i attched the foam and set in the frame work to hold the Camper together to handle some rough driving. 😍😍😍wooow!
Thank you!
I like how you kept it simple. A ton of these type videos keep making their rigs super complex and it takes them months to build. This is the type of camper I want to build. Just something cheap and easy that can be taken off the truck easily. How much do you think it weighs? Can you just lift it off yourself?
Thank you i tried to make it as simple an efficient as possible, between 1-200lbs i never weighed it and i had 2 ppl help me put it on so i could focus on lining it up but its mostly foam and some wood so its not much
Great build, looks solid 👍
Thanks man, so far so good!!
So after I roll out my glue and then iron out my canvas, do I wait for the glue to dry or do I roll the glue over the outside of the canvas when the first layer of glue is still wet? Thanks for any help
I let mine dry for a day before adding the outer layer
Looks awesome. i might try a build like that
Go for it!!
Nice poor man's camper
Thank you brotha 🙏
Would you suggest this type of build on a flatbed truck but have a cabover also?
I dont see why not! Ive seen some cab overs with foam if it had the right suppprt in right spots i think it will work. Actually want to build one myself and see how it goes but cant right now
@@AdventureLiteCampers thanks i'm going to look into it
Good luck let me know how it turns out if you build it 🤙
@@AdventureLiteCampers I will thanks!
Nice work, but, wouldn't it be better to have less rigidity? So there's more stress put on the truck instead of both the truck and the camper? Sincere question, just thinking out loud before I fall asleep.😊
Thank you for the feedback but not exactly, my thoughts were as follows: The cab of the truck and bed of truck are 2 separate moving parts unlike a conventional RV which is subject to twisting where the cab and bed meet together making one solid body piece. I built this camper to be an extension of the bed itself, tough as it can be so it doesn't bend or break.
RVs are purposely built with less rigidity so they can bend vs break but on this set up the rear is just one solid piece that moves on its own (separate from the cab) so adding the camper to that, I wanted it to be very strong.
@@AdventureLiteCampers well, it looks like a brilliant design, really, I hope it works out for you,
@@Katiedid1975 thank you! Its held up for almost 4,000 miles, rain, shine, offroad, plenty of security guards beating on it in the middle of the night to see if anyone is home 😁
Love it
