Exhaust lobe on camshaft is worn that’s causing air intake issues tell tale sign is a louder than normal air box hum they were notorious for wiping the exhaust lobe off they will idle fine and run ok at low speeds but fall on their face when gassed on
If it had an airbox it would be easier to hear for sure

I'm assuming that motor is out of one of the earlier Polaris HO 500 utility quads if so great motor kind of weird how everything is mounted on it but the biggest flaw in the main reason why I sold my bike and so many others did was the coolant restriction I could take my bike out for 4 hours and it would be 20° out driving through a foot of snow and the piece of s*** would overheat 4 or 5 times I would bring it back to Polaris and they say there's nothing wrong with it it's probably the way you're driving so after the third or fourth time to the Polaris dealership I told them idiots to go pound sand instead if they don't give me my money back I'm going to sue their asses for lemon law it didn't work but I sold my bike and after talking to a few people they all said the same thing first four or five years for the 500s and the I think at the time to 700 or 750s whatever it was just overheating issues so you can figure that out that just might be a badass golf cart
I bet you take off them snorkels and build an airbox it would run better.
