Sir ye DAAD scholarship ke baare ho sake to thoda practical idea chahiye.. yourpedia me dekha tha video, they gave a brief idea about it, but then i want to know, like how to prepare from the first day for it?? kya kya karna chahiye jisse mera chances badhe.. and also the detailed procedure how to get it. jaise ki apne bataya, ki topper hona hota h.. ye compulsory h kya?? Best guidance to follow. Sir was very good with dramatics. I wish I could have topped my class. But seriously, in Mtech people have to have PORs on CV for good placements. And try to be in good books of, atleast, your guide and subject coordinators

If I have 3 years gap between BTech and MTech (Civil). Does it affect my on campus placements even if I am doing MTech from IITs or NITs? In those gap I just did preparation for competitive exam.

@@EdSharpenerthank you so much for you reply...i am passout 2015..did some non-technical jobs and then started preparing for upsc but failed then went for gate and attempted 3 but unable to achieve rank with self study.
So was in worry should i give gate once again or not for mtech in iit's.
Because during mtech i will turn 30 yrs old due to which i was in worry.
Sir should we go for top NIT like trichy with interdisciplinary branch or core courses in lower NITs like jaipur and bhopal

Sir, what should I choose among the following?
1. MS in chemical engineering - IIT Madras
2. Mtech in Chemical Engineering (Material Science & Technolgy) - IIT Guwahati
3. Mchem (Master in Chemical Engineering) - ICT Mumbai
If u want placement go for ict mumbai and if interested in research thn IIT Madras best hai
Yes ICT does have good record! And IIT M and G both have good overall placements i would say choose IITg coz IIT adds more value and M-Tech will be better of than MS

I did one mistake too, not getting in touch with placement cell soon, I was about to get in touch them during the end of second sem but then the pandemic happened. In the end they cancelled placements for mtech students

Are Mtech life in IITs/NITs are too hectic? It is often told that Mtechs in IITs doesn't get any personal amusement time , and has to work for 10-12 hours in lab everyday . Is it true?
Hahaha no! I did 6 thetre plays. Daily went for rehersal . participated in every competition, enjoyed all fests! Sabkuch hota hai

2) Position of responsibility in Extracurricular activities
3) Atleast one Research paper during Mtech and have a good rapport with ur Profesor ( if you are planning for research/ PhD)

Hello Sir. I have a question. I got IIT KGP in MTech this year.I am as a tutor in Chegg and CourseHero online platform since April of this month. Will this will also be my plus point for job /phd. Should i continue doing it or all i need is to be focus on MTech only.

Interdisciplinary courses have more spread of knowldege than the depth. And that is why you need not worry about tough courses but more variaed knowledge. Dont worry you can cope up with it!

Hi Abhijeet, I am quite surprised that they are considering Chem engineers, but if they do that means they have some opportunities as M-Tech and PhD projects for chem engineers. The process part (Heat exchange, Exergy etc will be from Chemical) Placements will be fine since companies wont care a lot what your B-Tech specialization was as long as you perform well in M-Tech. also you can choose courses from Chemical engineering department to make it easy for you. so Dont worry even if you select this branch!

Would it be better to choose an old NIT like say Durgapur or Warangal over a comparatively newer IIT like Hyderabad or Mandi, if our main goal is to sit for placements after these 2 years of M.Tech? Hi Ameya, Martial arts could be there. and if not, such thing can be taken up by you and there is a lot of freedom for an individual at hostel and institute level. You can contact sport representatives of your hostel once you join the insti. and then can pursue something like this!
