I'm so pleased to hear you describe what could happen in Spanish...I don't understand a word, but I think it's marvelous that other people WILL. You might just be saving some lives.
It's annoying asf. They have spanish language channels, and do you really think non english speaking people are listening to an english channel? Broken logic gate.
How some people have a problems… As long the information help people in Cuba, I don’t see any reason to complain… Everything is about the Tropical Storm, that’s all… what’s going ? In 2004, Charley hit Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, making landfall on the southwest region with winds over 150 mph. Winds came down to Category 1 intensity but still carried gusts up to 105 mph in Orlando and 80 mph in Sanford; Ian is on same path.
Charlie did a lot Of damage in Ponce Inlet as it went out to the Atlantic. Ruined roof on our Condo. So I am paying attention. 2004 was a terrible year.
How nice of her to broadcast in Spanish. Very thoughtful and considerate, and a very nice touch! 😊 With her professional skills, I’m sure that she is in high demand!
@@cylersmiley5259 Good grief. Then switch to an English-only channel. It was just a couple of minutes. You’d be thankful for someone speaking English to you if you were caught in a similar situation in another country.
In case anyone is wondering the European model is more accurate than the American model and in 2004 a hurricane named Charlie went on the exact same path as Ian is right now on
It used to be that they would simply announce there would be bilingual translation for Spanish speakers, and they'd go right into the report. No longer explanation or apology for anyone foolish enough to get their feelings hurt or not understand why news would be given in another major language. Imagine how hurt they'd feel if someone had to explain / apologize for speaking English. (I'm Anglo, but that's how that disclaimer came across to me.) Over 1 in 8 people in Houston are Hispanic, given recent census figures (above 12.5%). In my neighborhood, Spanish and English are equally common, and I've found my rusty Spanish is too light on vocabulary and shakier on grammar than I'd thought. So vocabulary words any native adult speaker would know, even any kid, I'm often missing. This means talking with maintenance workers is a comedy of errors, as my broken Spanish is sometimes better than their broken English, while other people are truly, natively, bilingual (and I thought my Spanish was better than it is). Maybe I'm overreacting, but it felt like a disclaimer or apology, rather than the usual; older way of just saying, hey, we've got bilingual coverage in Spanish and English here for all our viewers. To me, that's plenty. If someone is too narrow-minded to deal with it being given in Spanish, then that's their problem. Most people would (should) understand and be glad their neighbors are getting the news in the languages most comfortable for them. (Yes, there are sizable other language populations here. At some point, being able to choose which one you prefer is best, but bilingual for a majority is good.) About 10 to 20 languages account for the vast majority of all speakers in the world. (A few of those 20 most common languages might be surprising.) With Houston and major cities in Florida being major airports or seaports, lots of different people, fluency just makes sense. The notice just struck me as unusual, so I reacted. Maybe I'm being too sensitive, but maybe too, there's a valid pint. Anyway, I'm glad for the bilingual presentation. )
Best wishes for our friends and neighbors in Florida, Puerto Rico, and elsewhere who will be / have been affected by Ian and Fiona. We hope the response will be much better than having paper towels thrown into the crowd.
U guys r so much better than the whole news team at wctv Tallahassee maybe get rob and two others from there and hire them they have great personalities and would be an asset the others not so much🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
First, excellent explanations of the two models and possibilities and how a hurrican is structured. I think it will track on the American model path west of southern Florida far enough away so that Tampa Bay is not hit hard. Look out Pensacola.
Why is the black line drawn to the west of the middle of the spaghetti lines? Why not in middle? Euro is usually the best and their to the east? Why isn't your black line in the middle?
Instead of wasting your time watching fashion shows or comedy shows, you can invest that little time into digital currency market where every little of your time spent counts.

Great video Kim, please explain why Ian drops from a 4 to a 2? Did you say "wind shear" will lessen it's impact? I hope it does not hit Mexico Beach which Hurricane Michael destroyed.
nice she warned people ahead of time about speaking in multiple languages so that anyone 👀 on this sunday who's high as hell will know its not the weed.
From what i understand, this storm is intensifing late in the game Thunderstorms building as it moves So that is a indicater that cloud tops are still rising T-storms rise too . As we know Hurricanes move horrizontal and T-storms rise . My opinion west this system will unleash more noticeable Thunderstorms activity then an Average hurricane that has already Wraped Thunderstorms in center around 50, 60,000 feet.
I wouldn't say she "downplayed" anything. She simply pointed out that there are two models commonly used and that they predict different outcomes. Predicting the weather isn't a particularly exact science. I think it's reasonable to point out all possibilities.
Only Jesus if it has to be done for rain or some other reason we don't understand but pray we stay safe and heed in warnings because warnings do come from God because of evil people and good people on this earth 🌍.
I’m going to make an observation here. The spaghetti models for Hurricane Ian about an hour ago. After they spend $100 Quadrillion Dollars on weather satellites, their ability to predict where these storms will go is NO better than it has ever been! I could have made this unprediction myself! That is all!

Yeah there's some shenanigans going on
If it gets into the Gulf it seeks the warmest water ..like fire seeks gasoline ..
they are saying Ian will get pummeled by wind shear once it gets west of the Florida gulf coast
So is the western Caribbean, that area got serious high octane energy.
