Clean the tattoo with soap and water. I give the client two weeks worth of body butter to put on the tattoo. You can use Vaseline or Aquaphor but there are better things to use. You don't want it to be wet. Just enough to keep the scab moist so it will come off easier.
Having someone come check out the tattoo is fine as long as you inform them to not touch anything. Every tattoo artist has had those annoying people who come with the client who “hover” and its extremely annoying. But I would allow someone to catch a glimpse of the tattoo as long as they know not to touch anything. If any tattooist or tattoo artist allowed someone to touch anything weather it be the client the tattooist or the station, they should not tattoo. Period.
