Thnx for sharing on these Genny products .Enjoyed the Genny Cream and my most fave Boomer Beer since the 80s ! It is mild pleasant tasting and at a great price unlike most so new school beers like a Sam Adams which is too hoppy heavy to the palate and pricey
Did you check the datecode on these beers? The presence of particulate matter might suggest they are getting old. Also, I know this video is a year old but I bought these beers about three months ago and the packaging has changed.
Late reply, but yes I did. I ensured these were many months before their expiration dates (IIRC, Genesee does BB dates, not packaged on dates) before purchasing them. And I've literally done videos/shorts on buying beers fresh. Good catch though.
Only these three were available at the place I purchased them. And it's also why I said the other two were a surprise, since I've only ever seen the Cream Ale in SoCal historically.
Genny cream may not be a great beer based on subjective taste opinions, for sure. We all have our own palates and preferences, but objectively, for the style, Genny Cream Ale is one of the best commercial examples of what a Cream Ale is supposed to be.
I guess it didn't come off as well as I thought in the video, but I do believe it is a decent beer. I've recommended it numerous times to coworkers and customers for something inexpensive ($2 for a 25oz can!) and refreshing with no frills. And you're absolutely right on it being one of the best commercial examples of the style, it's probably why the BJCP lists it as one. Weirdly enough, Hamm's and Old Style have won in the Cream Ale category many years back; just an interesting bit of trivia there.
Most definitely as a value, Genny Cream is killer! About $26 for a 30 pack of 12oz here in Philly. I wasn't taking umbrage at your description, jsyk. NO beer, no matter how well done, will please all people. We all have different perceptions and preferences for sure. Yeah it was the inclusion in BJCP guidelines that always made me giggle a bit. Genny cream was the cheap beer option coming of age way back in the day and never looked at as anything special. @@thebeeremptor
It’s a shame our younger generation want a bitter beer. Also that is the biggest problem with the new craft beer craze. It seems the consumption is to get drink and not enjoy the beer.
if you made it like years ago you would be making money everybody in ogdensburg drank the old jenny this new shit no one is drinking you lost your following
The Genny Cream is the best of the 3 BY FAR.
Definitely! And yes, I would go along with that honey note and that particularly the Cream Ale is their gateway between Macro and craft beers.
A very good review. Yes, it is well carbonation and that is what i like. The Cream Ale is my favorite. Thank u for the review.
Great to see a new upload, this is a very underrated channel hope you blow up
Fantastic review and history! Just bought a 24 ounce Genny Cream ale since it's nostalgic here, and it's been decades since I had one in high school.

Genny Cream is all we used to drink back in the ‘80’s. Then it just disappeared. Genny 12 Horse Ale was my favorite.
I'm now drunk with taking a drink every time you said character.
Edit: I watched it again and ran out of beer to drink
I'm currently drinking a Genesee ICE on my lunch break at work right now. It's a darn good beer 🍺
Really like the Cream Ale then OG, Try to avoid any light versions of beers. Thanks for the review.

good old genny creamers
I've had all three, non of which are sold in Louisiana.
I switch between the red and the green can.
The only cheap beers i can stomach to buy are Genny Cream and Miller High Life. Why ?
Because they taste like a beer.
couldn't find any 12 horse to try?
