Ingredients:
melted milk chocolate: 300 g (11 oz)
ice: 100 g (3.5 oz)
sugar: 220 g (7.8 oz)
butter: 80 g (2.8 oz)
whipping cream: 140 ml (4.7 fl oz)
salt: 2 g (0.1 oz)
roasted peanuts: 100 g (3.5 oz)
The cream:
cheese cream: 350 g (12 oz)
powdered sugar: 200 g (7.1 oz)
whipping cream: 400 ml (14 fl oz)
melted milk chocolate: 40 g (1.4 oz)
hydrated gelatine: 20 g (0.7 oz)
dough:
eggs: 2 pc
powdered sugar: 100 g (3.5 oz)
vegetable oil: 40 ml (1.4 fl oz)
flour: 55 g (1.9 oz)
cocoa: 30 g (1.1 oz)
baking powder: 7 g (0.2 oz)

My definition of simple must be different but looks delicious
This NOT a simple dessert !! This is many different types of candy making. Melting the chocolate and keeping it at the correct temperature to manipulate it while keeping it firm enough to not run down the plastic wrap form… making caramel from scratch and not burning the sugar or separating the butter (how many of you know what I mean about that…and I’m not trying to be rude) it’s very complicated arrangement of many different types of candy making and baking from scratch. And it’s expensive to get all the ingredients. It’s a very imaginative twist on Baked Alaska. Which is fun to make and serve. The amount of sugar and fat in this is sky high ! It’s wonderful, it’s imaginative, but IT’S NOT SIMPLE !! For an experienced cook/baker it’s ok, but for someone who never cooks from scratch all the time… I wouldn’t recommend it, just the cost alone is a good enough reason .
I know exactly what you are talking about. My mom worked for Baskin Robbins. They sent her to cake decorating & candy making classes & it is not easy. Takes a lot of practice.

Everyone talking about this dessert? I hadn’t heard of it before until I watched this. Has anyone else heard of it? Apart from that, my critique of this recipe would be that it’s over worked, way too heavy, with no balance of flavours. Chocolate on the outside way too thick, as is the nutty caramel that would conflict the mouth feel in combination with the light mousse and sponge, just wrong. Great flavours over worked

Just so happens I am an elite pastry chef and graduated from one of the best culinary schools in the country. This is difficult and even I would think twice about making it!

The funny thing for me is I totally can make the desert no problem but I'm still confused on the cup of coffee she made at the start. I was expecting her to pour it into the cake batter but she didn't. What was with the coffee, where did that fit in??

Everything from scratch, one person is making it, the dishes and the cleaning. It will take 7-8 hours if you include everything. Also the chocolate shell/bowl is not the same as she made in the beginning. It's totally different one 🙃 so yeah if you have a lot of time and energy you can attempt to make this simply complicated recipe.
You and I have different definitions for "simple". It does look delicious, though. :)

That's a LOT of work but it looks beautiful and delicious.
I would use pecans instead of peanuts because they are a softer nut & I favor them over peanuts.
The only things simple about this are putting it in the fridge and possibly eating it. If you are here to find a quick and easy dessert for your family, keep looking. I am sure this can be done, just not simply. It takes some effort and experience. Great job, but not everyone can do this.

I would not call this a “simple” recipe due to the many steps you have to take, but I would call it a brilliant recipe that requires lots of time and advanced skills. Nevertheless, this is without a doubt on my top 10 list for best recipe for 2024. Congrats, well done!

My blood sugar just rose 5 points while watching this video. All through the video, I’m revising the recipe in my head. To make it diabetic friendly. Kind of. Maybe. Hmmm.
1. Thin out the chocolate crust with 85% chocolate.
2. I would make my own mousse with artificial sweeteners.
3. I can make a sponge that is sugar free. I would make this layer thicker.
4. I’m still thinking about the caramel. I might would make it thinner and just plan on the sugars in that section. I could drizzle it while warm on top of the sponge instead of inside the chocolate bowl.
5. I would also skip or replace peanuts with toasted pepitas or crushed pretzels. We have nut allergies in our family.
6. Skip the fancy beverage. Just a cold glass of milk.
It did look good. I had never seen a dessert like this before. It looks time consuming, but not to terribly hard to do. Of course I’m the one who has made turduckin for Thanksgiving dinner.

Beautiful dessert and certainly very tasty, however, could all that sugar be replaced in some way? or put it less? It's simple and fast for us who have done many things so for enthusiasts it's not simple for others, not even very fast. Still beautiful and definitely delicious!
